If true, Kaido should be around 800cm and Black Maria is not Yamato's mother.

@Raydjahs:
This message is prevention:
A guy shared into Worstgen Forums that the following tweet is official, but :
https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1303608799652061185
ONEPIECE_1200 confirmed that this was only his opinion and that he did not know if this information is in Volume 97.
I repeat, this message is just for prevention.
We will see if its true soon, when is SBS expected?

Never noticed how tall Drake was.
Not ridiculously tall, but he always seemed like a normal height guy.
-
Well… better than Law!
-
From Emunopla :
-
Oh, all Kid? Not what I expected, but not bad.
It's hard to parse the logic of what goes into the spine images, and we're probably wasting our time trying to work it out, the Doflamingo absence or anything else. We don't even know if it's Oda who chooses them. There's too much we don't know to really sort out a pattern.

Is it even Oda who pick those or is it a decision from the team that puts the volume together?

we do know that it switch between putting one character and multiple characters on the spine (confirmed in magazine 9)
-
For this sort of things I image that unless Oda has a very specific image on his mind because of reasons it's the editoral department that takes care of it and Oda just gives the final approval.
-
Had a feeling it would be Kid, considering the rule of alternating between 1 character and multiple characters for each volume spine. None of the Tobi Roppo would fit for a whole spine, and Luffy got one 2 volumes ago. So between Law and Kid, Kid was more relevant, considering his fight with Apoo is this volume
-
I would have chosen Kid because he was already the one closest to the spine. :ninja:

Oh cool. I remember looking at the raw pages on how they put the volumes together, but I never saw that snippet actually get translated. Good to know!

Deciding the Spine:
When the volumes are lined up on the shelf in the bookstore, what grabs people's attention are their spines. We put a part of the cover on them, and alternate between showing one and multiple characters. This was just a coincidence until the editor noticed it and made it into a pattern they follow. -

This was just a coincidence until the editor noticed it and made it into a pattern they follow.Good to know! I'm almost embarrassed to say I totally missed the pattern until now as well. But they have made a few deviations for specific parallels, usually with hero and villain volumes, over the years, and the English release muddied the waters further by changing some of the early ones slightly, so it's definitely not the easiest thing to spot.
-
So it's an entirely aesthetic thing that has nothing to do with Oda. There.

Who's Who reminds me of a former member of the Whitebeard Pirates, Chameleone.

Oda: Yes. But rather than saying serialization ends, I would say it’s over because the most interesting part of Luffy’s adventure, the story of what is One Piece exactly? is done at that point. Right now Wano arc is heating, but if Luffy is to leave there safe and sound, it’ll lead to a worldly development , an exciting story no one has ever read, I’ll be drawing the “Biggest War” of OP history. It’ll be very interesting!! And so, I made the announcement to notify the readers and make them realize that “this long story is actually heading towards its end”.
But, right now you should be enjoying the exciting Wano country arc. I’ll draw it with all I’ve got!! -
on sale..
Am I the only one that finds the placement of the tobi roppo bizzare? If it was me I would have put drake the lowest, low key hinting hell be part of the alliance as we see him near our characters.
Right above I would have put whos who and sasaki which seem to be for me the 2 strongest and also highlight their clear rivalry, and on the further sides I would have put the two sibilings and kept black maria in the middle.Anybody agrees?

Also, regarding the sbs this should debunk wano will turn into the final war idea ive seen been thrown around.

But, right now you should be enjoying the exciting Wano country arc. I’ll draw it with all I’ve got!!So this may have some big implications depending on how you interpret it (translator seems to agree on Worstgen). Essentially Oda is confirming that Luffy's "journey" should end within 5 years. Basically, the physical journey by which he and his crew reach Laugh Tale. However, because of the way Oda avoids saying the actual Serialization ends and the way he describes "new developments" in regards to a major war, signs are point that while Luffy's journey ends in 5 years, the actual manga will not.
Basically, we will know the mysteries of One Piece, the world, and Luffy becoming PK within 5 years, but it does not mean the story is over because Oda has a massive war to draw as well. Either Oda somehow squeezes an entire war in this timeframe and Luffy becoming PK on Laugh Tale with the actual journey to it, or the War is after (my personal believe this is the case)
-
-
This might be the best Pandaman cover version yet.
-
No way, nothing about Jinbe?!
-
[Parallel universe where everything went wrong] - Chopper is so much cooler than what we have :-(
Glad Oda clarified the 5 years thing. He probably realized that this backfired horribly, since people will now read the story with a damocles sword above their heads - constantly asking themselves what can and can not happen within those few years.
So now it's roughly 5 years until the big questions are answered, followed by a war concluding the series. This should put your mind at ease, at least if you were worried that Oda would start skipping things left and right.
-
So I just come to realize that the Yamata No Orochi's whole body is never truly seen, ever. All artistic paintings follow this trend.
Only the heads are visible, I wonder if artists just couldn't ever paint what its entire body looks like or if there's a reason to it
-
If my calculations are correct, Black Maria is not actually a giant, but still very tall, only a little less so then Jack.
-
@Johnny:

Yep, giants start at 12 meters, making her only a very tall human (similar to Big Mom actually).
Happy to get names for all of the Oniwabanshu, they haven't gotten to play a huge part yet, but they have some great designs - especially Jigoku Benten is very striking for a woman in One Piece.
It also seems like there's another "Happa Yamao" situation with Nozdon aka Seagull going on. I'm not sure, but I think Oda is giving him the full name "Seagull Kanzu Nozdon".
-
Oda message.
-
Yeah, Oda's settling into what we always thought was the case, no way he was doing everything in five years. To Raftel in five years sure, but then the final war will be its own thing that could potentially take years.

Now that you point it out, even in stuff like Okami you never see his body, just the heads. There might indeed be a historical reason on that.
-
Ok something is strange.
Again no Sanji
-
What are the names of the oniwabanshu? Also still wondering why oda is still not naming kanjuro, apoo and kid's fruits at this time… Also 5 years is really becoming a sad estimate now
-
Every single mystery should have been revealed and solved by the time Final War starts. I wouldn't want the last climax of the series to still have unanswered questions.
-
To me, the next 5 years will encompass:
- Ending Wano (1-2 more years I'd guess)
- Elbaf (1-2 years)
- Journey to Laugh Tale/Laugh Tale (may include other islands like Lodestar/pre-Laugh Tale locations 1-2 more years)
- THEN an undefined number of years to do the War, achieve all dreams, and end the story.
Knowing Oda, he may not even get to this point in his timeframe he expects. But Geographically, this makes sense since Laugh Tale may not even be towards the end of the NW, but we know Elbaf is likely critical to the story in some way. There could also be other arcs/islands in between that we just don't know about yet.
This also aligns with Roger's whole journey too. He knew he couldn't do anything (whatever that "something" was about the true history) only after he learned about it. Everyone just laughed. This likely means Luffy must journey to Laugh Tale, find One Piece, learn the True History, etc BEFORE resolving the problem that Roger couldn't resolve.
Its possible that the structure of the final points of the manga have been sitting right in front of our noses for a long time, ever since Rayleigh mentioned the same things back around chapter 506/507.
Not to mention, but Oda's constant "percentage" comments also make more sense in this context. 80% starting at Wano could just very well have been Luffy's physical journey, not a physical measurement of manga's chapter or storyline progress. It also makes sense too, considering Fishman Island at one point was 50%.
@All:

Yup this is sounding like Oda's intentions. He wants us to experience his "greatest event" knowing everything by that point.
-
So Oda "fixed" the Nozdon/Seagull stuff saying that his name is Nozdon and his epithet is Nozdon, the Seagull?

-
My theoretical roadmap is:
- Wano Act 5 to prep the saga. Shanks meets Luffy and challenges him to come to his territory and defeat his crew. Only then the Straw Hat can be returned. Zoro and Sanji have their arcs (Wano and WCI) finished. Blackbeard's entire crew revealed.
- Mary Geoise arc (Sabo, Vivi, Hancock stuff), meet Bonney. Kuma's story starts. Revolutionary/Robin stuff explored.
- Vegapunk arc. Finishing Kuma's story. Franky gets his arc.
- Blackbeard vs Shanks and we explore the story of Rocks.
- Elbaf arc. Usopp's arc.
- Race to Laugh Tale. Luffy and Blackbeard crews face off.
- The big freaking war.
-
I've read this 10 times and can't comprehend any explanation but that the greatest war will take place after Wano. What am I missing that others are seeing?
basically 5 years roughly until all OP secrets are revealed, AND THEN, the final war. So roughly 8 years for the manga to finish? around the 30th anniversary i assume.
-
Ok 5 years to One Piece… I can get behind that. Afterward we'd probably be heading into the Saga of Dreams.
Luffy - Complete/Laught Tale
Zoro - could go either way. I'm going to say after Laugh Tale during the great war!
Nami - After the war! Unless the crew island hops for ages drumming up support for their cause.
Usopp - Any day now... But lets say after Laugh Tale! Elbaf...
Sanji - Geographically seems like it would be right around Laugh Tale so before or right after maybe?
Chopper - Like Nami I'd say after the war.
Robin - During Laugh Tale
Franky - Just after leaving Laugh Tale.
Brook - Just after leaving Laugh Tale.
Jimbei - After the war during reconstruction.Huh...
Scratch that... The Saga of Dreams is right after the Big Mom/Kaidou saga! Or at least half the crew is primed to accomplish their goals relatively soon while the others will need a little more time. I wonder how much weight Oda will put into their accomplishments. I remember around 10 years ago when I was still a strapping young lad in his handsome 20's, I imagined the crew after accomplishing their dreams! Like they walked around with a literal glow, a shiny Pokemon as it were. Stats maxed out and ready for anything.
Oh and look at old man Chopper! He's saying that medicine he's got will help anything? Oda hasn't forgotten. I really think Chopper will come up with a miracle drug! Or rather he himself be the miracle worker.
-
I've read this 10 times and can't comprehend any explanation but that the greatest war will take place after Wano. What am I missing that others are seeing?
The pure fact that he avoids saying the "serialization" will end in 5 years, and stresses that Luffy's adventure is what ends. He even specifies by saying the question of "what One Piece is?" is where his journey "ends". He also says that after Wano, if Luffy leaves safely, it will "lead" to a worldly development. Do we expect the manga to just "end" after Luffy finds that out? Will there be no repercussions? Isn't there something to be done once they find out the true history? This is why we are assuming this from his comments.
The Final War isn't just going to go POOF, I'M HERE, there needs to be escalation. Logically, this escalation will take some time after Wano. Additionally, think about Roger's journey. He found out about One Piece and the True History and realized he couldn't do anything with his remaining lifespan.
If Luffy is supposed to surpass Roger and do what Roger couldn't, then logically he needs to go to Laugh Tale and become PK first right?
