Trump's also made it clear that he wants to get past this embarrassing mess and move onto the next thing before it costs him more approval points, though who knows if team P90X/Turtleman actually give a shit about his tantrums. They might just pursue this dumbass agenda until they're primaried out or have quasi-breakdowns like Boehner.

I watched McCain and the Trump Conference one after the other on CNN. I like the contrast between McCain's possible last big speech and than Trump.
McCain: Hey let's maybe trust each other and worth together and stuff.
Trump: WE PASSED THIS BILL WITHOUT ONE DEMOCRATIC VOTE WHAT A SHAME.
Also, Trump seems to be a sadist in terms of dealing with Sessions. I'm assuming he's taking out all his frustration over this thing on him. The issue though, as I understand it, is that McCain has a history of taking big only to vote the party line in the end. So I don't think anyone on the Democratic side of the aisle is counting on him.
Despite that, I wanted to take a moment to appreciate the incompetence being displayed throughout this process.
- The Republicans have spent the last seven-odd years campaigning to remove the ACA. When they're finally in a position to do it, they produce a last minute hack job of a repeal and replace bill that would literally take insurance away from more people than a straight repeal would have.
- The House manages a second attempt, but their party hardy is cut short because the Senate has a much narrower margin of error and can't possibly pass it.
- Like the House, the first attempt is so poorly done McConnell pulls it from being voted on.
- They redo the bill hoping to appeal to those critical votes they need without losing the ones they have, only to create a bill that may not even qualify for reconciliation, the only thing that makes the Senate passing something without Democrats possible in the first place
- All of this of happening when, on paper, the Republicans supposedly hold all the cards.

The House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill giving Congress the power to block any effort by the White House to weaken sanctions on Russia, offering a direct challenge to President Donald Trump's authority.
The vote was 419-3. The legislation moves to the Senate, but it's unclear when the Senate will vote on the measure, which includes new sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea. Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Bob Corker indicated Monday he may want to make some tweaks to the bill, which was negotiated between the House and Senate after the initial version he drafted sailed through on a 98-2 vote.

Side note. Mexico has retaliated against the whole wall thing by establishing an agricultural agreement with Argentina. Starting next year Mexico will buy 100% of their corn, rice, wheat and soy from Argentina duty free. In exchange, Mexico will ship cars to Argentina duty free.
This will take away at least 13 billion annually from american farmers.
Way to go GOP, making Mexico great again.

Keep in mind they voted down the first repeal and replace bill 43-57. Nine GOP senators out of 52 voted against it, and it needed 60 votes to pass anyway.

A vote to advance Senate Republican leadership's plan to repeal and replace Obamacare failed late Tuesday – the latest setback in their party's effort to dismantle the 2010 health care law. After 9:30 p.m. ET, the Senate rejected a motion 43-57 to waive the Budget Act and advance the proposal, known as the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA). This contained a proposal from Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas that would allow insurers to sell less expensive bare-bones plans alongside plans that comply with stricter Obamacare standards. And a proposal was added from Sen. I like how their "best" option at this point is something that manages to piss off the entire insurance industry while also shivving a bunch of people who rely on employer-based healthcare.
No individual mandate means a fair amount of people will drop out altogether, which will make insurance premiums skyrockets since insurers will make up for the decreased revenue projections by jacking them up on everybody else. No employer mandate means a lot of places that currently offer healthcare to their employees because of laws requiring that they do so won't. Less tax revenue means that things won't function properly either so even the parts that they are keeping will decline in quality.

Good "job creator" Trump here to bring down unemployment by ending the careers of 7,000 people because they're "undesirables". Just too much of a "distraction" and a financial burden even though so much money already goes to the military.
