Agreed. Let's say the Straw Hat's ultimately "fail" like getting caught or have to retreat after major damage, I still expect them to do something in the process that would blow the minds of the Big Mom Pirates and anyone else who sees or hears about the story. After over a years worth of chapters leaving us wondering what has happened after such a declaration I have to assume there is going to be some major pay off highlighting the Sanji Hats capability.

No, it hasn't been implied too much, it was mentioned only once by the minister of the right and it was said that If Big Mama were to open the box it might as well be taken as a declaration of war, but Luffy already declared war against her and part of his crew is currently "fighting" part of her crew, this bomb and their conversation might just be a red-herring and Oda has other plans for this bomb. ie: the bomb blowing up on the ship and destroying her candies.

I'm not expecting that Bomb to reach Big Mama since it won't move the plot at all, what the bomb can accomplish is already being accomplished by Luffy's declaration and the Curly Pirates actions at the moment.

In scene with Fujidoflaw it looked like all 3 of them used CoA "bubble" same way admirals did it during marineford, protecting themselves from impact of debris from Fujitoras meteor. At least thats my understanding of this scene as it is now.

What? The admirals were able to counter Whitebeard's shockwave because it was directly a Devil Fruit power. In the meteor scene you're referring to, all three of them block the meteor in some way. We have no evidence that a CoA bubble, as you call it, could block a physical object. CoA Haki is all about being able to contact/negate DF powers; in other words, a CoA bubble could negate Fujitora's gravity power but not something moved by it, like the meteor. The meteor still retains its momentum even though Fuji is no longer using his power on it.

I mean, Kid sunk two of her ships, but it's not like he is at war with her. Luffy will need to do much more to escalate the conflict.

A full-blown war has not been declared yet. I'm talking about the moment where Luffy becomes her top priority.

So calling someone out and telling them that they'll beat + snatch their territory is not a declaration of war? Pekoms and Tamago were not concern about the Strawhats because they don't have to be, the Strawhats haven't done anything in the New World that will make the Big Fishes pay attention to them that's why we have the Dressrosa arc right now, and Yes, I do think that Oda will use that conversation as a red-herring and the bomb won't even reach Big Mama's island.

653: Is it possible that it could fail to go off? The palace is an awfully humid place! the bomb could have rendered useless and at any rate, there no guarantee that Big Mama will open it herself.

If Sanji and Co. sink that ship, that's not guaranteed to piss off Big Mom too much if Kid is anything to go by. We need a real reason for Big Mom to be pissed at Luffy, and a bomb ruining her tea party, an event she's been looking forward to, is just what the conflict needs.

The bomb has been too focused to be just a red herring (you don't focus on the same detail in two different chapters if it's not going to be relevant). There's also the fact that Oda is not exactly known for red herrings and that the Straw Hats are completely on the dark about the bomb, so not making it explode and cause an accidental incident would be pointless.

There will be no war going on as long as Big Mom doesn't start treating Luffy as her main target.

Haki is invisible armor, not only anti-devil fruit thing.

No, it isn't! CoA doesn't negate DF powers. It just finds the physical body of anything. Basically it is able to hit the essence of things. So strange protections done by Devil Fruit don't work. If there were any other kind of power that would have some different kind of strange protection, CoA would also pass that. In the end this ability is just a side effect of CoA, being it a Will/Haki power. The "real" power of CoA is doing something similar to a suit of armor, basically a coating that fortifies things. Note that the other colors of Haki also have this side effect. Observation can feel the essence of things, even if it is a Logia user not in its solid form, Conquerors Haki also affects Devil Fruit users in a not solid form. The big difference is that Armament Haki is used in conjunction with normal attacks. Making this side effect of real big importance.

You have Chinjao who called them a bunch of "Confident Brats' and you have Tamago who speaks casually of them because they haven't earned their attention yet and yes, it can be considered a threat, do the Big Mama's pirates take it as such? Clearly not.

Sentomaru and Sandersonia physically blocked Luffy's punches with their hands by using CoA armor. The admirals were standing there with their arms raised expanding their Haki bubble. They're not the same at all.

This is pretty much Luffy's biggest opportunity at really escalating this conflict with Big Mom. A bomb with the potential to destroy her party, make her the angriest she has ever been and order all her forces to go after Luffy. Everybody would be going WTF at what the Straw Hats "did", and the Straw Hats themselves would also be confused about this whole situation because they never planned any bombing.

And you think it should be a red herring because… why exactly? How can you say that it wouldn't move the plot forward? Everything has been set up so nicely too (the bomb being sent in the first place, the tea party, Neptune's words...). Why even have that bomb as a plot device if it's not going to do anything relevant?

Your Kid argument doesn't really work because he's been causing storms in the NW (Brownbeard's words) and his alliance was enough of an important event to warrant front page news. Chinjao himself considered Luffy a confident brat too.

Also how if not with CoA haki protection Luffy can come out unscathed from such attacks for example? Haki bubble blocking most or all of damage that could come from those shots sounds most resonable. Dont you think?

When I said negate DF powers I meant that CoA users can touch/hit them as though there was no Devil Fruit. It doesn't negate the opponent's actual power, so Logias can still transform, Luffy can still stretch, and so on.

Because it's expanded outside his person. CoA is usually bound to an object to harden it or make it effective against DF users. Considering that the tea party already has a set time to occur, it's unlikely that it will not happen. It's supposed to be a plot-important event.

The Minister of the Right already said that the bomb can only be activated by opening the box, so somebody will have to open it. It's not hard to believe Big Mom would think that there would be something yummy in it.

If it was not going to happen, this would be irrelevant), Neptune's conversation with the Right Minister… all those things seem to be leading to the bomb being activated at the party.

Jinbe doesn't have any time limit to break up his deal with Big Mom. In fact, he didn't really plan to break up the deal until recently.

Same for the "all Straw Hats should be doing ruckus even when separated" argument. Well, Luffy was able to create ruckus without his crew during Marineford. We also had Zoro massacring Whiskey Peak and fighting Luffy while Usopp and Sanji were asleep through the whole thing. At least Sanji and Co. are getting action instead of having a simple, pleasant trip to Zou.

The Bomb still makes a Boom which is the point of the bomb, but not the way YOU want it to make the Boom.

The idea was introduced as a medium for the readers to know that this is something that Big Mama holds right in her small black little heart and something that will make her go after the Strawhats seriously cuz as I/you mentioned one or two pages ago, they don't give a crap about the Worst Generation because they haven't done anything note worthy of their attention besides Kid destroying two ship that was only considered as a monetary problem and not as a threat.

To me those details are pointless, but to you they are apples, I love apples.
