Isn't she already dead?
Chapter 764: "White Monster"
-
Isn't she already dead?
-
Isn't she already dead?
No. They were still living in their big house when the villagers went medieval on them. And the mother was shown sick and dying in a rundown shack after that.
-
I can't see an 8 years old Vergo saving Doflamingo's family in that situation. Perharps that's when Doflamingo awoken his Conqueror's Haki, kinda like how Ace did.
Maybe Vergo or the mysterious Jack had a hand in it too.
-
No. They were still living in their big house when the villagers went medieval on them. And the mother was shown sick and dying in a rundown shack after that.
At that point, she was already dead. Then they are caught. What happens after that is the hanging scene at the start of the chapter.
They weren't living in the big house, and we see them running away when it's on fire, so they weren't caught there.

You might be right. When I read that part with them hanging, I assumed it was their own house, but I might have just been some random wall.
I feel more comfortable now that there wasn't rape in OP. (If you don't count the implied one by CDs.)
-
I've a bad feeling about Cora-san's death being the time when Dofla taught Law that the weaklings can't choose the way they die.
-
Don't think Law and Rosi have ever entered the Grand Line, especially not in that small boat.
Now I'm confused. Doesn't 764 take place in the Grand Line ? On chapter 763, p.13, Doflamingo says they're headed towards Reverse Mountain when moving their base. So I'd figured they had set sail, passed the Reverse Mountain and everything beyond that point was taking place on some Grand Line islands. I might be mistaken, though. :wassat:

I also assumed that they were in Grandline. But Cora doesn't even carry around a log pose and he's travelling in a small boat.
So, I guess they are still in north blue. -

So, I guess they are still in north blue.I guess you're right. It would also make more sense with everyone they meet being aware of/showing strong rejection towards the Amber Lead Disease, as some Grand Line islands are quite remote and several of those the SH visited didn't even have hospitals anyway.

So, I guess they are still in north blue.Travelling the GL in a small boat and no log pose doesn't seem to bother Mihawk.

He's an executive. I doubt other than Shichibukai or a rare, random threat like Enel he would have issues with anyone else that opposes him.

Rivance Mountain is where they were going, not Reverse.
-
@Buggy:
I hope Rosi is alive somewhere still! maybe as Revolutionary? would be cool. but i doubt hes alive lol I like his character :(
if anything he could be Jack, as in Jack of Hearts.

@Galaxy:

From Aohige's summary
The family heads south east to Reverse Mountain.
-
From Aohige's summary
What a stupid thing for Mangastream to mess up on. Even Mangapanda got it right.
-

There's also the weather and getting direction.

I lie your new avatar.

Oh my God, Mangapanda has gotten contagious then.
-
if anything he could be Jack, as in Jack of Hearts.
Please don't give people any hope, it's already going to be difficult to see him die.
Seeing that hope being crushed will be another disappointment.I've a bad feeling about Cora-san's death being the time when Dofla taught Law that the weaklings can't choose the way they die.
Why you do this:sad:
-
I just can't figure it out. How can Oda say, that it is evil and not human-like to say what DD was saying, in that situation? Isn't it normal/human-like to say that? His brother was also turtured, which could have made him more mad, considering that he cares for him. This would be the only scene i dislike, cuz it makes no sense to me.
i took it as an implication that doflamingo kept his words and killed everyone in the town later on
which is what you'd expect from him -
He's an executive. I doubt other than Shichibukai or a rare, random threat like Enel he would have issues with anyone else that opposes him.
This was 16 years ago, though. Doula's crew was probably nowhere as strong as they are now.
And in a boat like that, anybody with a decent ship could sink him easily. Mihawk can at least destroy ships from a distance.

I think that Crocodile might have title of Jack in New World Underworld.
Croco is type that would fit very well as one of biggest underworld brokers. -

LoL at Vergo being 8 years old with a metal devil fruit
As for Bege you are right, he is mafioso through and through with his design so he should appear in role of one of Shadow Brokers.
This arc turned out pretty great as it is now but next ones shows promise of being even bigger blast.. -

haha they literally got everything Doflamingo said wrong

It's funny to think about how Mangastream at least used to be somewhat credible, when compared to the likes of Mangapanda, but now they apparently can't even beat them.

Good grief… "Constantly broadcasting our signal"... insert facepalm
I'm glad I didn't read them this week :getlost:@Galaxy:

The Panda has infiltrated the Stream to make them look worse … and its working!
Surely there are other translators to these two.... right?
I know there are other sites but ones I've seen ...they usually have the translation from Panda or Stream, not their own.
Batoto doesn't count since they are behind and not at current chapter. -

you know what we should do? just not give them any more traffic, and just read aohige's script along with a raw. i don't want to put undue pressure on the guy (i have no idea who he really is or what he does but this seems like something he likes to do).
i mean, that's what i'd rather do at this point. i don't like the first impression these shitty translations leave me with. i don't want to have to re-read a corrected translation of the chapter. i kind of don't really care for Viz' work either, translation and stylistic dialogue-wise.
edit: whoever posts the new chapter thread first should link to neither mangapanda, nor mangastream, and just a clean raw and aohiges script. wishful thinking, but a much better format.
edit2: i'd just like to say, that despite viz' work, i still happily buy each new volume and love supporting OP.
edit III: as long as the script has page indicators, i'm a happy camper. (sorry for all the edits!)

-
haha they literally got everything Doflamingo said wrong
Tell 'em…. Oh yeah it's monday, let me go read your awesome translation.
-
So I can't even trust mangastream for the general idea anymore? Sad day.
-
Man, I haven't been in a chapter discussion in like three months. What the fuck's going on, everyone?
-

Sounds too impractical. Aohige only gives a summary of things, not a complete translation.
Not to mention that we're just a minority.

I miss the CCC days, never gonna get those back. But he's in a better
placejob now. -
it's just a problem that causes a lot of scuttled and confused discussions.
because the shitty translation sites want to be first for the first wave of views, they get the fastest translation as possible. it's terrible. the first site to post the chapter, immediatley gets linked to by every forum.
the frist couple hours, and the first day generate the most discussion.so waiting costs your site views, and waiting means you have to catch up on all the discussions taking place, or you run the risk of repeating what a lot of people are already talking about (which is gonna happen no matter what over time).
and if we don't link to the chapters right away, it causes the moderators a lot of problems with new threads, and jackasses spoiling.
and those discussions usually are propped up by the terrible translations. so if someone extra savvy doesn't understand the mistranslation, a bunch of people end up talking, discussing, and arguing about things that aren't real or didn't happen. and unless someone takes the time to correct them, or they see it themselves, which may not happen for awhile, it'll continue into other threads and other people will see it and there is a bunch of nonsense being posted all over the forum.
so it's all inherently stupid and we should buck it all together. i honestly think it's worth waiting until we have something clear to talk about. and i don't see the point of a public spoiler thread either. that should be something only people who are translators get to discuss on a private forum solely for translators (or die hard fans i guess, but not really, it just reeks of the risk of someone spoiling outside of that forum), because the spoiler threads are essentially microcosms of this same junk we have clutter the forums until we get a nice, clean, translation.
i don't see the point of posting anything but that. you can wait for the free thing on the internet to appear for you, it'll just take one week to adapt to the new release schedule.
-

A WEEK? That… that's an ask dude.
It would help if after the links we got a quick warning of what quality the translation is; F for Fair, B = ballpark, G = gibberish, :p = 'it's Mangapanda, what are you expecting?', @_@ = brainmelting.
-
no, a week to adjust to the new release time, not wait a week. it would just be however long it takes to finish a quality scan. i dunno. i'm tired. i've posted enough on here today. i usually lurk. the only time i'm compelled to post is in response to truly dumb posts or ideas that i feel like i must change but my voice screws up the execution and end up missing the mark in terms of clarity. or if i catch an interesting discussion in time to join in, but that's not often in my case.
sigh. i like one piece. i don't like dumb people. i like the security and intellectual streamlining of logic. i hate unfounded desires or headcannon somehow becoming discussions that need to be repeated and defended. i really like story telling, and i think oda has a great blend of action, engaging story telling, complex and relatable characters, reflected social themes, and incredible imagination and artistic individuality. i hate the ripoff artists that try to get their scummy website views with slapstick translations.
this is a respectable forum with mostly respectable members, and i think it would be a great change. if people don't like it they can go literally anywhere else on the internet to talk about it.
-
CCC will always remain in my heart, i miss those days.

Luffy has been tearing the Grand Line as a 17 year old. Isn't Corazon in his 20s currently? When introduced to the Grand Line, we even saw some weak generic fighters crushed by Kid. It will be interesting if Corazon can put much of a fight vs Doflamingo, that will be quite a scene. I think the biggest issue is direction as desa mentioned. Another ship sinking it is also possible but then again that also depends on Corazon's power and what he can do with it. We've only been shown how his power can be used in conversations, it may still be able to be used in battle.

Has anyone seen videos of people going into the world's most sound proof room? People can go crazy from a complete lack of sound, unless your already deaf. Rosi could use it to drive someone mad, or at least make them very off balanced.
-
Feels sad that i missed 40 pages of discussion.. Was good to travel though.
I didnt prefer the latter half of the chapter, felt a bit repetitive. Didnt want to reread it.
Doflamingo knows fear of nothing!

I actually do AUSLAN (Australian Sign language) and i'll tell you something, when im with about 30 or so deaf people all sitting down, it feeles really wierd. It makes you paranoid as to everything one does.
I dont think it will make you be driven mad, but the lack of communication will. -

Hoping next chapter comes out tomorrow, just to much of the story about to pay-off.
It seems likely that we're going to get the two biggest bastard acts of Dofla's life; the murders of his father and brother. But even at this late stage I wonder if they're going to play out as straight as it looks.
These last two chapters have added a lot of depth to him and can't wait to see if Law has hated him all these years for killing Cora as a government mole or something like forcing him to eat the Ope Ope without knowing he already had a DF.
Will Dofla come out of this as cold as we expect or is there going to be a change in how we view him? It's a foregone conclusion that Luffy will win so to me all the emotional weight in this arc is how we got to where we are.

i partially agree. it's a tall order to ask people to wait in this instant microwaveable popcorn society, though. people desire these chapters as much as a pregnant lady wants krispy kreme. it's just kinda weird though how people consume this media. they want it so badly that they'll read translations where Luffy could say he hates freedom and wants to enslave the entire One Piece population. with mangapanda this is possible. in a restaurant, people wait for their steak, try it, then if it's not the quality / tenderness they prefer, they send it back for a new one, then usually eat that one which is hopefully better. if they were like online communities needing their manga fix… they'd make personal trips to the kitchen because they NEEDED to know how their steak is coming along, from slight peripheral glances at the steak they'd say "THIS STEAK SUCKS", then they'd immediately scarf down the steak regardless of quality (and in this example the steak was brought to the table torn apart with holes in it and stray ketchup everywhere because it's a mangapanda steak. the company also put several shiny stickers of their logo on the steak.)

man, you beat me to it. I wanted to check it wasn´t mentioned before, but 40 PAGES…
also just because Corazon isn´t wearing a log pose on his wrist doesn´t means he´s sailing without one.

@Galaxy:
It's funny to think about how Mangastream at least used to be somewhat credible, when compared to the likes of Mangapanda.
They were never credible and always worse than mangapanda. Their entire OP run is riddled with monstrous mistakes even modern mangapanda would feel ashamed of.
However both got even worse.
