@Sephi:
I agree completely. I expected alot more from the top executives than THIS. If Daimante doesn't get back up next chapter, he was officially a complete and utter waste of time. The execs up until now we're dissappointing each time one got one shotted, but I forgave it because they weren't one of the top 3 (plus Pink had an interestingly sad backstory) but if Daimante, Pika and Reebok go down as easily…what the hell has kept this crew alive all this time?! Because they are dangerously weak.
The Donquixote Family is NOT that weak. Kyros was supposed to be a certified beast, his feats are pretty astounding in fact. Did you guys forget how Buffalo, one of the most underwhelming doffy officers, actually stood some pretty devastating attacks from the Shogun + Nami's thunder, and still kept his consciousness just fine? And yet Kyros took him out without his sword in a second? And yet this same Kyros just lost a gallon of blood by fighting Diamante.
Talking about Franky, the guy just lost consciousness from his injuries. Most colosseum fighters that engaged the officers have ended up battered beyond recognition, this side of Sai who seems to be one of the few still standing. Sugar and Trebol easily took out Usopp and Robin, and Usopp got beaten to retardation and back.
You guys talk about the Doffy family as if they were the NFP. They're not. How underwhelming you feel they've been taken out is besides the point, cause where not talking about how exciting the fights have been, but how they stood as villains. And what they did is not less than standard arc villain fare.
@carcanclaw:
People had so many cool ideas for how Robin and Rebecca could contribute to this fight, and instead Diamante gets beat by a generic sword slash and the power of love.
Rebecca and Robin were useless, and the whole sexist "your hands are beautiful, so don't fight the guy who killed your mother I guess" thing was reinforced 200%. Oda SERIOUSLY needs to cut this shit out.
It was the power of anger.
And as many sexist issues as Oda's having (specially) lately, a father not wanting his daughter to dirty her hands any further is NOT sexist. The whole thing sells Rebecca's character short, but it's not inherently sexist.
