Chapter 760: The Same Stakes
-
Damn that was fast. I could have not read the spoilers. Cool chapter, too bad it's so short :/ I hope Oda is ok…
-
Oda sure likes to end his chapters with Doffy smiling like a maniac, even when it's 13 pages, the man won't skip the tradition.
-
Great chapter heheh.
Awesome comeback Doflamingo. -
So do we have any info on why it's so short? It's a bloody brilliant chapter, but why the shortness?
-
Okay its official Doflamingo is Stelly Senior.
Kill all the damn Dragons.
-
"hurt didn't it bastard?" Wow I can't imagine Luffy saying that… I wonder if it's translation. I'll ask like usual: anyone got raw?
-
Wow, what a great chapter. Sabo falls to Fuji, Doffy kicks some ass, and a little bit of Doffy's backstory sheds through in some dialogue. While I have nothing except praise for this chapter, I can't say I wasn't a little dissapointed by the exposition on Doffy's history. Instead of being this renegade, as I pictured him, who left the world nobles out of disgust for their elitism and what not, like Sabo, except evil, Doffy is revealed to be some Stelly 2.0, who loved his life as a Celestial Dragon, who killed his father because he took a way that status. To be frank, I'd rather Doffy be an evil, but sympathetic character; it would've been a lot more enjoyable to see Luffy punch down Sabo's foil than a second Stelly or Saint Roswald. Other than that one nitpick, I can't say this chapter wasn't a great one, and I can't wait for the chapter next week. Keep it going Oda.
-
Damn, we all got blindsided by the chapters coming out today.
hopefully next week is flashback week on the doflamingo family and law's backstory.
-
We still on the game Darth
-
I'm disappointed with the reasons for Doffy's resentment for the world nobles. I was hoping it would be something more than him just throwing a tantrum over not being accepted back into being one of them. This coupled with the whole "We bet on Luffy" thing just screams Alabasta. And so my fears are coming closer to reality. Oh well…
Nice chapter, and as I expected the Red Hawk didn't do much to Doffy. Funny how some people were saying this could one-hit-KO Doffy. Let's hope this fight remains interesting for the rest of the arc. Also, Doffy has been rocking the sunglasses since he was a kid. Quite the badass.
-
Holy shit! Holy shit!
Jinbe's voyage isn't happening in real time!!!!!
X_X Dead!
-
Haha I love how spoiled Doffla was. "let's buy slaves", "someone talked back to me, gimme a gun!"
-
Pretty shallow backstory on Joker. Apparently he's always been an asshole. Friggin strong though. This fight will definitely push Luffy's limits. Hope Oda doesn't draw out this fight though.
Fujitora is likeable again.
ps. Where the hell is Burgess? Something tells me when we least expect it he's gonna jump out of a bush and do something crazy.
-
So the clone didn't disappear
!
-
Haha I love how spoiled Doffla was. "let's buy slaves", "someone talked back to me, gimme a gun!"
I assume the kid asking to buy slaves is Corazon. Doflamingo is on the left (note the signature forehead vein and asking for a gun; he just shot Law a couple of hours ago).
King Riku and the people of dressrosa are intolerable.
-
Dofla got the shortest flashback imaginable. :D
-
Hmmm, yeah I kinda wished that Doflamingo to have some redeeming backstory but it's just really really horrible.
-
So , I'm the only one who realizes Jinbe's story isn't happening during the events of Dressrosa, but at the beginning when they first arrived?
-
Dofla got the shortest flashback imaginable. :D
Don't worry, its not over. That was simply a prelude in to something longer.
-
more op powers for law
"also with the rarest of the powers"
is this the usual "ability" meaning just df, or is there more to it?oh and he says "leaving his family of four behind"
sooo corazon + dofla + mom + someone else -
Pfft, sorry Doffy, but I find your backstory to be shit so far. You really are nothing but an greedy evil creep, one from the very start. -_-
Anyway, for a 13-page only chapter, that was freaking awesome!! Heck I'm starting to like Fuji again! :)
And lol @ what Koala's doing to Sabo's face! XD
-
I'm a little dissapointed about the reason Doffy hate the world nobles. I wish he was little more sympathetic, to say the least; frankly, I wish he had left the world nobles on his own behalf rather than because his father forced him too. Anyways, what a spectacular chapter. That's three in a row, Oda. Keep it up.
Yeah tell me about it. I got the wrong idea from the small summary - but hey, maybe Luffy will beat that into him.
…still though, I can't shake the feeling that the story has a different side to it. I mean Doffy has a different side to him, as well, treating his people as family.
I mean we didn't even see his expressions in the past when his Mother died.. or given a clear reason as to what made him kill his Father 2 years later.
-
LOL at people thinking this will be the whole backstory of Doflamingo.
Can't we yet again wait for the upcoming continuation please?
-
flash back time!!!!! of EVERYONE. DD. Law..etc
-
So , I'm the only one who realizes Jinbe's story isn't happening during the events of Dressrosa, but at the beginning when they first arrived?
it's just a matters of hours. we don't even know if it's passed a whole day or not since the arrival of the sh in dressrosa. it could be the morning of the same day
-
Can we view Oda's drawing of a young Doflamingo in the SBS as canon…? He didn't look unhappy there.
-
To be honest, Doflamingo is, in my opinion, the first true evil antagonist in One Piece. I mean… I can't see any redeeming qualities about him, he was even an ass when 8 years old. lol
-
Well, yeah, there could be more.
But from what we're given so far, it's nowhere near Nami and Robin's level to be boasting "MY LIFE SUCKED SO HARD YOU PLEBS CAN'T UNDERSTAND ME" that Dofla's spoutin'. I mean, that just lowered his coolness level to below negative. -
Reading the chapter without those last 2 pages makes a better chapter and I thought doffy would have bit better reasoning for wanting revenge on the WG but I assume he was just a spoiled brat back then and still is now.
-
Well, yeah, there could be more.
To be honest, he's like Joker from DC comics. He's really just evil for the sake of being evil and causing chaos, and, always has been so (and crazy) for his entire life.
-
it's just a matters of hours. we don't even know if it's passed a whole day or not. it could be the morning of the same day
Regardless it means whatever we're seeing Jinbe doing on the cover page is significantly delayed compared to what he's really up to.
This means he could still end up helping Sanji's group or already reunited with his crew.
-
I fucking love DoFlas backstory… I really was afraid it was some sob shit... Instead he was always that evil bastard.
On top on that Fujitora really is so damn interesting... But dissapointed in Law now being even more Hax with Radio Knife... Poor Trebol
-
The guy owned a slave auction. As in he sold and profited of of slaves. He has been an unredeemable character for awhile. Up there with Spandam, and that Croco-shit. It's no surprise he was always a dick.
-
The guy owned a slave auction. As in he sold and profited of of slaves. You guys want him to be sympathetic? You're surprised he wasn't born a giant douchebag and is just continuing to be one? He has been an unredeemable character for awhile. Up there with Spandam, and that Croco-shit.
I bet you Croco will redeemed somewhat. However, I get where your coming from with Doffy.
-
I'm really starting to like Koala and Sabo here. It's little banters like that that make a character.
So Fuji has finally made his decision. Guess he won't be doing much else for the rest of this arc.
Truth to be told, I thought Doffy's reason to hate his father and nobles would be less… shallow. That he had killed his mother or something. But nope, he was just a spoiled brat who couldn't bear being part of the common rabble!
Oh well, perhaps we finally get the flashback here.
-
Well, yeah, there could be more.
But from what we're given so far, it's nowhere near Nami and Robin's level to be boasting "MY LIFE SUCKED SO HARD YOU PLEBS CAN'T UNDERSTAND ME" that Dofla's spoutin'. I mean, that just lowered his coolness level to below negative.Well yeah from what we're given so far, definitely.
However if there was more - a sob story I mean. I think it's cooler of him to not tell his enemies.
He's spouting "I worked hard all my life, you don't know what I've been through so get the hell out of my way cause I have no time to deal with you brats!"… basically. Well that's just me.
-
it's just a matters of hours. we don't even know if it's passed a whole day or not since the arrival of the sh in dressrosa. it could be the morning of the same day
No it couldn't! Because the tournament began and already ended, so it his at least afternoon(Long time passed)!
-
I fucking love DoFlas backstory… I really was afraid it was some sob shit... Instead he was always that evil bastard.

You and me both brother, but it sounds like we're the only ones.
Guess people wanted this guy to have some redeemable qualities like Croc.
-
great chapter ! King riku retrieved the trust of his people , fujitora a navy admiral started believing in luffy , doffy still has his things in his sleeves , the battle can't end with only one attack and dofla's evilness has no limit !
-
Regardless it means whatever we're seeing Jinbe doing on the cover page is significantly delayed compared to what he's really up to.
This means he could still end up helping Sanji's group or already reunited with his crew.
yep, that's quite a possibility!
-
On the one hand I'm glad that Doflamingo isn't getting a sob story about his father being a noble who killed his beloved slave mother…. but on the other this is kind of.... I don't know. A bit weak? I need more, hopefully next chapter.
-
Sabo wasnt defeated. Sabo found out Fujitoras intentions so they let each other go. Fuji isnt a threat
-
In this chapter, Doflamingo loses his dimension.
-
That make us wonder why WG still help doflamingo by sending cp0 if he wants to destroy the world that rule by them .
-
Yeah, right.
You know what, children should not suffer for deluded ideals of their parents. However bad and artrocious Celestial dragons are, Dofla brothers still lived in that athmosphere for 8 years and didn't knew any better. Why didn't their father ran away earlier? Why didn't he and their mom raise them as normal people, rather than entitled monsters? Does that mean that dad had a change of mind, and was just like them before?I think we should wait for full flashback before stating "Dofla is just grown up Stelly, I hate him now, DISSAPOINTMENT".
Inb4 "Koala beats up Sabo, violence on men, she is just like Nami, I hate her now DISSAPOINTMENT". Don't. Just don't.
-
But yeah, Doflamingo for next nakama
-
No it couldn't! Because the tournament began and already ended, so it his at least afternoon!
in the morning for jinbe.
later for the sh. -
Darth was corect. Fuji would get passed Sabo by any means possible. 1 poimt to darth.
-
Well, yeah, there could be more.
There seems to be more to it that that.
He said he saw the "heaven and hell" of the world didn't he?We still have the Corazon and Law stuff to go through too and he said he went through a depression of some sorts because of what happened.
The thing with his father and mother seems to be the catalyst for his story.
I think we should wait for the entire flashback before jumping to conclusions.
People have done that constantly this arc and were wrong each time.
