Good catch there, didn't realize that. My guess would be Usopp or Kinemon would bring down the wall with their respective fire attacks. Although that just begs the question, why would Nami ask Usopp to leave if he has fire attacks that would be useful against a snow woman?
Because there's freaking Zoro. He should be enough to handle a logia.
Anyone else thinks this arc is starting to get a bit draggy with the strawhats getting seperated repeatedly?
@Miss:
.. How did Usopp, Brook and Kinemon get through Monet's snow wall? Brook being a ghost doesn't explain this, Oda.
Very Fishman Islandy stuff right there. Something the anime is good for: filling in these blank spots.
i thought ussop and co. gone back to the door they entered with brownbeard bus…the door monet blocked was the door they entered when they first encountered the children...it leads to the exit where they saw the front door of the icy lands (its where smoker confronted law)
correct me if im wrong,
Because there's freaking Zoro. He should be enough to handle a logia.

Isn't that what always happens Alabasta, Enies Lobby, Thriller Bark, heck even Water 7. The biggest annoyance for me is the fact that Shinokuni is still an issue. The running away from Shinokuni got old but as it is now smoker/law vs vergo, luffy and momo, franky?, zoro/nami/robin/chopper vs monet/druggie kids, and finally sanji/tashigi running (I wish this would hurry up and be resolved) the arc is going very strong. Not to mention the Dofla, CC, DF, SAD, and prisoner questions we still have
I love that Usopp is wondering if a group that has Zoro in it will be ok with out him. I love his attitude since the time skip, he flinches and still get's scared but not to the point that it completely disrupts his fighting style. What ever sea stone they find to restrain Caesar and possibly Monet I hope they keep it for future purposes.
That gets my attention is what…how..he said it. At mangastream its translated as "Is it really fine for the great Usopp not to be there, Nami?"
At Mangainn it comes arcoss totally different "I wonder if Nami and them are okay without me?!"
CCC, Aohige (or anyone else that translates) can you tell us which is a better translation? The mangastream one makes it sound as if he's worried about Nami rather than 'worried about Nami and the others'.
Momonosuke needs to join, they need a cabinboy or two… Like shanks and buggy were.
Usopp needs underlings…
Too true I miss him being comander/big brother to those trio back in Syrup Village.
@Miss:

I went back to re-read the the past 2 chapters where they encountered Monet. They didn't go through the wall, they either went back the way they came and went a different direction or cut through the floor. They are now on a different floor.
683- the map of where they are when meeting Monet says "B block 3rd floor outside Biscuit Room" Monet was at other end of the Biscuit Room
685- When we see Usopp's group, it says Block B 2nd floor they are not directly under the spot on the 3rd floor.
I dont know if someone else pointed this out but did you noticed that Momo is not actually flying?
i](http://mangastream.com/read/one_piece/82452500/17)f you look closely you can see him grabing those little clouds, and it doesnt seem like some sort of comic "HIGH SPEED RUSH" effect.
the smoke only appeared when he panicked, as if he was the one who made them (ya know, dragon exhaling smoke), so it seems its still part of his "kit"again, sorry if someone mentioned this already
Good eyes guys. :)
East Asian gods often fly by "floating" in air and "walking" on celestial clouds, riding a celestial beast, or using magical items. Think of Goku from DB and his little cloud.
Dragons are often associated with weather control and bodies of water. Clouds are not necessary for a eastern dragon to fly (think Spirited Away), but some dragons can summon cloud and mist at will. One reason was probably since East Asian gods usually don't have wings, artists used clouds and floating clothing to show they are flying.
Since Momo's fruit is fake, I still think Dragon got the real eastern dragon fruit. Had thought so since his name and possible weather control powers were revealed.
I hope Momo can turn back. Not having opposable thumbs can be a pain. At least he didn't get turned into a 3 legged dragon.

If you got a solution for petrifying cloud of death that covers an entire island, I'm all ears.
I don't think vaccum cleaners are going to cut it.
At the very moment that concept was introduced into the arc, it was obvious it's going to be a looming terror the entire arc.

Can't say anything about it until I have a raw, which usually doesn't happen until Friday at the earliest.
…Although, manga_stream_ has a strange tendency to make up lines that deviate wildly from the original content in order to sound cooler.

Ah thanks, I'll wait and see then :)
Thanks on the info of Mangastream's strange tendency.

Don't speak too soon, Franky could return with some possibly Vegapunk related deux giant vacuum cleaner.
Counter explosion. http://www.batoto.net/read/_/13905/one-piece_ch592_by_mangarule/15
Just curious but in this chapter the guards clearly saw Momo turn into a dragon. Why was it that the guards in the biscuits room had no idea about this when the girl told them about Momo leaving and going into the secret room in a previous chapter?
Also I don't see what the problem is with running from Shinokuni. Every major arc has had it's 'make it in time theme'. Alabasta and the bomb. Skypia and being destroyed. Ennis lobby and rescuing Robin. Thriller bark and fighting before the sun comes up. Fishman Island and Noah falling. It adds suspense.

I missed his question entirely, gimme a sec…
mangastream has the gist of it more accurately, while missing the "Nami and others" part.
Usopp does arrogantly say it like he matters, but does address Nami "and others".
So they are both partially right.
おれ様がいなくて大丈夫か!?ナミ達
まァゾロがいるからよしとするか
It's hilarious, it's almost like Zoro being there instead of him is just 'acceptable' (you know, compared to the great Ussop)
I quite love Usopp regaining some of that arrogance he used to have early early in the series.
Don't speak too soon, Franky could return with some possibly Vegapunk related deux giant vacuum cleaner.
That would be awesome.
I was thinking more in lines of Franky coming back and doing some ship-assissted Uber Coup de Vent to blow away the death cloud around the lab, but a suuuuper vaccum cleaner would be neat too.
I wonder if Zoro's gonna show he picked up the fire-sword techniques already from watching Kinemon use them. It feels like it'd be a good way to finish Monet off, and show good ability progression in the process. Though I'm betting Brook will find where Monet's heart is and accidentally hurt it, saving Zoro from one of her more dangerous attacks.
I'm also curious if Smoker and Law are actually going to work together. Smoker seems pretty in-control of the fight right now, and I don't know if he'd really need the help. Though he is already well aware of how effective Law's power can be when you don't see it coming. I can see Law delivering the finishing blow, with Vergo's last line being "I forgot you were there"
Also, the Doflamingo apparition makes me think that the artificial DF is related to the SAD room. Its the only thing on the island Doflo seems to take a personal interest in, and it'd be awesome if he controlled his crew through these artificial DFs like how Moria controlled his zombies.
If Sanji butts into Zoro's fight with Monet I'm going to be pissed.
It's funny how Tashigi was no match against Robin 2 years ago in alabasta but after time skip Tashigi has haki and Robin doesn't …
It's important to take a step back and remember Tashigi's (presumptive) literary function in the overall story. She serves as a rival for Zoro, perhaps the only one apart from Mihawk that truly matters in the long run. Her role is to fight, to drive home the point that there is no reason that a woman cannot equal or surpass a man in swordsmanship, a belief that is central to Zoro's motivations. She isn't there yet, but that is due more to her attitude, as opposed to her technique: as Zoro has said before, Tashigi has no fighting spirit.
While she has yet to fully assume that role, there is no doubt in my mind that Tashigi will - indeed, MUST - eventually gain the drive necessary to face Zoro as an equal, and she will need haki to do so. Mastering the use of haki takes a great deal of time (as evidenced with Luffy), time Tashigi would almost certainly not have if she and Smoker are to continue to be regular foes for the Strawhats in the New World. As such, reintroducing her without it would set her even further behind Zoro than she is now, perhaps irreparably so.
By contrast, Robin's role as a fighter is secondary to her role as an archeologist. While I am certainly not averse to her getting her fair share of battle, she does not NEED to have one in order to serve a purpose in a story arc - Robin gathering information and piecing together clues can have ramifications that far exceed her ability to put someone in a hospital.
And given her rather powerful fighting style - intelligent use of leverage via her Devil Fruit abilities - I already view Robin as one of the most potentially dangerous fighters in the series. She may not have the strength, speed, or stamina of Luffy or Zoro, but that doesn't matter when she has her opponent in an unbreakable choke hold from across the room. Barring a logia's discorporation abilities or a particularly unwieldy body (too bulky to get a firm grip, too limber to hold onto, zoan shapeshifter, etc.), she is capable of taking down nearly anyone instantaneously, and I would venture that that would include Zoro if she were given an adequate reason to fight him.
Adding CoA on top of that would push Robin even further into overpowered territory than she is currently. If she were a dedicated fighter a la the Monster Trio, I imagine that a great many fight scenes would end quite abruptly, with a simple "Clutch".
That's my two bellis, at least…

It looked like they came in as he was midway the transformation. If we look at the panel were they saw him, his silouette had already strated to look inhuman, the panel were we see an arm, it already had scales. When the gaurds came it, they say "what is that?!"

Thanks on that. I liked his confidence ahem arrogance ;) there but was focused on if he was addressing just Nami or Nami and the others. The way Mangastream worded it made it seem that either Nami ordered him or that Usopp's concern was focused on Nami (UsoNa shippers would use that either way lol)
It seems that nobody realized yet so let me say it… We have experiments that turn kids into giants, and DVs that make kids into dragons. Remember the artificial dragon of Vegapunk that Luffy and Zoro killed when they got in PH? This dragon should have been a kid that was first turned into a giant and then ate an artificial DV, thus being a giant artificial dragon.
That would be awesome.
I was thinking more in lines of Franky coming back and doing some ship-assissted Uber Coup de Vent to blow away the death cloud around the lab, but a suuuuper vaccum cleaner would be neat too.
Yeah, That was my first thought too once everyone was inside the lab, but I'm hoping/expecting a more poetic downfall for shinokuni. Coup de Vent is pretty much a Franky technique and I feel like Vegapunk should stop it, albeit indirectly.
So speaking of Franky, what happened to the Vegapunk Laserbeam and CC story line ?
With the fake devil fruit, what if it permanently changes someone into a dragon, and they just become mindless dragons over time, can't remember who they are or anything. Would explain the other 2 dragons… Chopper would be on fire with saving people.
Also can some1 remind me how kinemon new that momonosuke was on that island, or hasn't it been reviled yet.
So speaking of Franky, what happened to the Vegapunk Laserbeam and CC story line ?
Planning a posthumous examination.
So speaking of Franky, what happened to the Vegapunk Laserbeam and CC story line ?
To my understanding, nothing has happened to it. It is, and always was, a goal that Caesar could only really pursue during relatively peaceful times - an issue of scientific curiosity/rivalry. With the present chaos, it has largely been forced into the background by sheer necessity, as CC is occupied with maintaining control over the situation in his lab.
If Law, Smoker, and the Strawhats were all killed or properly incapacitated, I imagine it would quickly come to the forefront again.
This chapter… really felt like One Piece. Not that the rest of the arc hasn't, but this chapter in particular does a particularly good job at representing the series as a whole to me.
Love the color spread. Sanji's costume is downright lazy, and Brook doesn't need one, but the entire thing is so fun and unique to what we've had in the past. I love Zoro's whisk[e]y or beer bag, Franky's entire awesome costume, as well as Usopp's, Robin's, Nami's, and Chopper's costumes. I love a lot of the new hats that are used too, including Chopper's wizard variety. And lol at Brook being the only one who's scared of the ghosts. I think I like this color spread more than any I've seen for quite a while, tbh.
Lol, Momo (thanks to Luffy for shortening that for me) is just like his old man. Perfect. He's undoubtedly the star of this chapter, and within a single chapter he's put himself into position to be majorly important for quite a while, which I'll get to in a bit. It's funny that Luffy doesn't remember who Momo is, but he references him with how he first met Kinemon's legs anyway. Last chapter I was initially struck with how much different Momo's dragon design is from Vegapunk's dragon design (even more so now that we learn they came from the same man). I understand that in this case the design is based on a Chinese dragon, but I find it hilarious that Luffy doesn't recognize it as such, instead thinking of it as an eel. I find it odd that Momo started the flashback with a sword, but didn't have it anymore by the time he escaped to the secret room.
The first thing that stands out to me about Momo's story potential is his connection to Dofla. First, I have to say that his hallucination of Dofla seemed very strange in how it was executed. I looked at it several times and I'm still not entirely sure how it was intended, which I have to fault Oda for. This one is even more confusing than the panel of Sanji breaking his leg against Vergo, which took me about 5 looks to figure out but I eventually did and then it made sense. Hell, at first I thought Dofla might even be controlling him, but I discounted that idea pretty quickly, and in the end I feel like it's just trauma related. But I'm not even totally sure that they've met yet. Nessa suggested hypnosis to me possibly, and that could definitely fit. The one thing I feel confident about from it, though, is that Momo has a negative connection to Dofla that is no joke. I don't know how it looks in Japanese, but the translations I've seen make it seem pretty ambiguous about how Momo ended up on Punk Hazard. On one hand it seems like he was "diagnosed" with this fake disease or ended up there on accident, while on the other hand it seems like he sneaked on to the boat for whatever reason. His connection with Dofla makes it all the more intriguing, as the boat was undoubtedly connected to him in some degree. I don't think that even Caesar would have the balls to walk into Wano to abduct a child, so I get the feeling this whole situation started with Dofla which caused him to leave Wano on his own. It also feels like Dofla is the root of Momo's and Kinemon's hatred of pirates. For those who were worried about an emotional connection to elevate Dofla into the upper tier of villain douchebaggery, well, I think the anchor of it just punched us all in the face. Now it just needs to be filled in and expanded on, since with one chapter we don't even understand the basics of it yet. But the groundwork has most definitely been laid out.
The second thing that stands out to me about Momo's story potential is the obvious tie-in to Wano's history with dragons. It's clearly a checkered past and Kinemon, at the very least, despises them. Now Momo is stuck as a dragon and can't even figure out how to change back. We've seen in the past that zoan users' bodies are fairly unstable and they need practice to control them, so under normal circumstances I'd have expected Momo to transform by accident by now if nothing else. This wasn't a normal devil fruit, but rather a failed attempt at an engineered one, so he could very well be stuck as a dragon for now. The groundwork for the importance of Wano's dragon history has already been laid out, and we've had every reason to expect it to be expanded upon, and now Momo is in prime position to act as the emotion anchor for it all to come to the surface and be addressed. This kid is hellishly important.
The third thing that stands out to me about Momo's story potential is his inevitable connection to Vegapunk. Vegapunk is clearly a very smart, good guy scientist who tries to do things the right way. He tried to engineer a devil fruit of his own making and failed by his own admission (clearly because he messed up the swirl pattern, silly man :ninja:). He obviously didn't intend to have anyone consume it, so it's a wonder why he didn't destroy something that dangerous. He's the man that Oda has led us to believe will give us all the answers we're going to get about how devil fruits work, and he also seems like the type who would take personal responsibility for Momo's current condition. There will come a very important time in the story when the crew meets this guy, and Oda's been planning on it for ages. Well, Momo has thrust himself into the likely role as the emotion anchor for THAT situation as well. He just doesn't know when to quit. I figure he'll be stuck as he is until he meets Vegapunk, who will have the answers (hopefully turning him into more of a proper zoan or something). Chopper might be able to help some, but it should be minor in comparison to what Vegapunk can do. It's also odd that his appearance was concealed throughout the entire flashback, which makes it seem all the more likely that he'll eventually be able to return to his old form or there'd be no purpose.
I enjoyed Momo's conversation with Luffy, especially the discovery that he might be able to turn back into a human if he just tries harder. I'm also a big fan of how he "flies" by climbing the clouds/smoke/whatever (that he created maybe?). Whatever happened with his eyes only add to the confusion I feel about the Dofla hallucination panel. And for all the people who were concerned that Luffy had no emotional drive to defeat Caesar other than it being interesting, no worries, because Momo has you covered! I guess we were all waiting for that in our own way.
Usopp, Brook, and Kinemon are searching for Momo and some seastone. And since they won't find Momo, that means their entire purpose seems to be to find some seastone for Robin, but there should be other children around as well, as we've been told. I wouldn't expect Oda to forget about them.
It's nice to see Smoker giving Vergo a good shot to the grill, but the attack raises more questions. Namely, did he attack with his elbow and turn it black, or is that his glove blurring from the speed? I'll admit that it's seeming more and more likely that the black coloring might be Oda incorporating a visual representation for focused armor haki, which I'm not particularly a fan of since he didn't do it in the huge war saga. I'm still withholding a final judgment on it, but it definitely seems to be going in that direction. I like these little one panel updates these chapters are using for characters that aren't the focus that particular week but remind us that they're still doing something. But they all just make Franky's absense that much more suspicious.
Ok, Sanji blasting the marines away from the gas with kicks is hilarious. I was confused about why he was running towards the gas and this answers it. And all of this with a broken leg. He's definitely regained his awesomeness in this arc for me after all the annoying nosebleeds after the timeskip. Unfortunately they're heading to the biscuit room, where Monet is… oh God no. Nami, please, whatever happens, keep that man from doing something supremely stupid and tarnishing his glorious path to character redemption. He can do it eventually, but right now it's just too soon.
And last but not least is the biscuit room update. Monet is finally confirmed as a snow woman logia! I guess that means that the suspicions about her asking Law to change her body were most likely correct. I also realize now that we got foreshadowing of this when they took their coats off while wondering if it could get suddenly get cold again and didn't realize it. I like how Monet's weapons appear to be giant ice picks, which suits her well. She's also deliciously evil, which helps me to really enjoy her character. Of course that means she won't be joining the crew, but that seemed like a pretty wild theory to begin with. I really like how Zoro instantly sprung into action upon the logia reveal. He's been mostly lazily (and somewhat hilariously) conserving his strength since the first dragon fight so that he'd be ready for a tough opponent to show up, so I'm glad that he clearly is. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like he'll be able to finish the fight. It seems like he'll have about enough time to establish his superiority (considering Luffy's) until Sanji and the marines show up with a bunch of gas behind them. Then, pick whatever reason you want for the fight to get postponed, whether it's gas or Sanji's weakness. She may just try to trap them in in the end so that Zoro has to cut them out. Ultimately, Robin's the only one who's taken damage from Monet to this point, and she's already requested the weapon she needs in order to fight against a logia. So in the end, I still feel like this fight ends with her, but under far different circumstances and at another time.
He snuck on the ship himself. It clearly says so.
Panda translation is just wrong.
However, CC's men probably just counted him in as one of the kids, not realizing they had an extra.
Not surprising, they ain't the brightest bulbs around.

Well, I get that. What confuses me comes on the page where the flashback starts at the bottom, in the first set of speech bubbles at the top. Mangastream has it translated as "I know nothing other than that this is a facility for diseased children. I posses no knowledge of how I came to suffer this fate, or the true nature of this island." It's that quote in particular that totally throws me off, and it could very well just be wrong.
I also realize now that we got foreshadowing of this when they took their coats off while wondering if it could get suddenly get cold again and didn't realize it.
Loved this. It's such a perfectly subtle Chekhov's gun in sense that the average reader won't remember/care about it, but the observant one will initially say, "Ah ha. It's definitely going to get cold again, because Oda doesn't waste dialogue- especially sagacious Robin dialogue," and then be rewarded for his patience.
Gotta admit. I loved the colourspread. Took me a while to realise Franky was there and it wasn't an oddly shaped tree but I was looking more at the other designs. Liking the various ghosts. Mr. Ghost. Baby Ghost and Queen Ghost especially. Brook being touched by Queen Ghost (and he's the Soul King, which made it all the more amusing) was great. I liked some of the designs. Robin's felt like a slight combination of her Thriller Bark costume along with Saldeath's hat. (or is that another ghost itself?) but makes sense she wouldn't go all out. Nami, Franky and Usopp's are great too. I like the idea of Luffy and Chopper's. With the wizard hats etc on and Sanji and Luffy's pumpkin being designed like them. Sanji is pretty eh. I don't even know if he's supposed to be dressed up or not. But that image of him on the ghost feels wrong.
I was starting to wonder if Oda had ran out of ideas for the colour spreads but nope. Although saying that I would not object to a series of spreads not focusing on the crew.

He's talking about being a dragon, bro.
Hell he doesn't even know what a DF is.
「ここがどのような島で、自分に何が起きたのかも知らぬ」
Original Japanese he simply wonders "I don't know what happened to me".
I think in attempt to make him sound old-tongue, translators got a bit carried away.

Hahaha yeah. I'm sort of kicking myself for not reading more into it back when it happened. I'm usually pretty good about catching that stuff. I just remember not being sure what to make of it.

That… makes a lot of sense. Lol, duh.
Not sure if it's been pointed out, (credit to a guy from One Piece wikia for pointing it out) but in the panel where Luffy and Momonosuke "fly", Momo is seemingly grabbing the clouds that he exhaled and using them to climb.
I still have the feeling that Sanji will stay back and that maybe his injured leg will be mentioned again after all the kicking the G5 into safety (as bad as it is, seeing that the SHs had far more serious injuries pre TS)
Seeing that Shinokuni is will explode if fire is used maybe he will try to stop it with DJ or he will somehow be able to stop the gas entering the room where the rest stays… But it will probably damage him even more
As much as I would like to see sanji kicking that gasses ass and looking like a boss. I much more like the idea of every1 being funnelled into the 1 room can't wait to see what happens
Not sure if it's been pointed out, (credit to a guy from One Piece wikia for pointing it out) but in the panel where Luffy and Momonosuke "fly", Momo is seemingly grabbing the clouds that he exhaled and using them to climb.
It was pointed out before, but in any way it's still quite a mystery O.O
I think it's very interesting ability. You can see randomly little clouds floating around Momo while he's talking to Luffy, but it seems clouds' number explodes when Momo freaks out (like when he "saw" Donflamingo or when he was running away from the guards).
!
! Maybe he puffs them out while his talking/screaming?
Not sure if this has been mentioned but, could it be that Vegapunk "creates" dragons by feeding subjects with the artificial devil fruit he created? Firstly, how does he know the fruit is a failure if there hasn't been previous subjects to enforce that claim? The subjects ate the fruit, turned into a dragon but couldn't change back. This happened with multiple subjects as we can see that there were lots of dragons in Punk Hazard.
Secondly, it could be that after a period of time, the subjects lose their humanity and completely become a mindless dragon. If this were true, then it would be a race against time to save Momo from the same fate. The only way the strawhats could know of this is when CC is defeated, sees Momo and explains the situation. This could further support Momo joining the crew to search for a cure using a method suggested by CC maybe. CC could tell the Strawhats where Vegapunk is and Momo will tag along until they meet him. Once he meets Vegapunk and possible gets the cure and is able to turn in and out of the dragon form freely, then he can decide to join the crew proper.
Good chapter
- "Man made" devil fruit, huh. So I guess this confirms that Devil Fruits are a natural product, and not an invention by Vegapunk to begin with.
They're random mooks, so I wouldn't jump to any definite conclusions based on what they say.
Not a bad chapter, but I didn't feel anything too much for it yet. And yeah, Robin -__-
It seems that nobody realized yet so let me say it… We have experiments that turn kids into giants, and DVs that make kids into dragons. Remember the artificial dragon of Vegapunk that Luffy and Zoro killed when they got in PH? This dragon should have been a kid that was first turned into a giant and then ate an artificial DV, thus being a giant artificial dragon.
The big dragon was created by Vegapunk though, and he wasn't involved in the turning of kids into giants. CC said that Vega wasn't able to "gigantify" people and CC was the one who said it would be best to use children.

! http://i995.mangareader.net/one-piece/685/one-piece-3648081.jpgMaybe he puffs them out while his talking/screaming?
Yeah it seems like it.
Kind of reminds me of the Flying Nimbus from DB.
Also I'm really excited to see Zoro fighting a Logia hopefully next week, I'm sure it'll be badass
No swirls. Unacceptable.
Would Snow Monet count as another one of Usopp's Lies / Creations coming true?
I can't remember the chapter number, but didn't Usopp build a Snow Queen on the going Merry at the beginning of the Drum Arc?
@Sonic:
And why is Momosuke blackened out? Why hide his appearence? I think Oda is sometimes going overboard with these "secret" characters…
Because we are following Luffy so we can't see his real appearance, only what Luffy can imagine from the story Monono is telling him !?
Maybe he's forgetting what he looked like before the devil fruit, perhaps the reason it's a failure is that the person who eats it slowly starts to lose their humanity, so perhaps the other dragons were once people who lost themselves to the fruit?
Please use the official Momonosuke smiley when talking about him - :ninja:.
I think he is an Amanto from Gintama:
!
Holly f*& Mononosuke is a CHILD, A CHILD. He wont join the crew, he is a KID IN HIS* CHILDHOOD. I can't even.. you guys, whats is it that you drink?
Good chapter.
…Sanji kicking the G-5 to safety. It seems Oda found his balance again, please keep it up. …
Oda is not finding his balance "again", he never lost it. Sanji is not beeing cool "again", he has always been
@$abZ:
And I don't understand people who question why Momonosuke is just a black figure in the flashback. Isn't it obvious that Oda doesn't want to reveal what he looks like until he tranforms back into a kid?
Sooooo Simmmmple as this! Just this!
Sory for the lack of argumentation and for the short answers, and I've only read the fist 7 pages,
Sanji and Luffy/Mononosuke were the best thing in the chap to me!

He also doubles as that random figure who's always the culprit in Detective Conan before the real murderer's identity is revealed.

That was also part of the episode:
!
:ninja: (This is not a ninja, it is Momonosuke)
I think what Momo sees is a premonition related to his devil fruit power. Because it's new and Dofla is scary it caused Momo to panic. Thus exposing his flying ability. I don't know whether Momo knows Dofla or not. But what is clear is he perceives him as a threat.
I agree that Momo will be an emotional anchor for several arcs. I think he will require Vegapunk to "fix him" and this will tie in nicely with SHs beating CC thus Vegapunk will "owe them a debt" a la Jinbie and Arlong. No idea how Franky missing up his labs ties into this. Vegapunk strikes me as absent minded scientist type which would explain leaving a lot of dangerous stuff behind.
Also a lot of people talk about how VP survived the explosion 4 years ago. The whole lab survived that's how. 2 other labs were destroyed.
Gol D. Roger had kids on his ship and one of them is pretty much the strongest pirate alive now (talking about Buggy ofc.)
