although I don't really see Kouda being able to do anything he couldn't before unless the range of his voice suddenly increased.
If Kouda's mask allows him to communicate on a frequencies only animals can hear, it might prevent him telegraphing his attacks too much against human opponents, as he has to instruct the animals pretty clearly.
After reading this chapter I'm wondering if Big Mom has the Bake-Bake fruit. Oda loves puns, so I'm thinking it'd be a play on 'to bake' and 'obake/bakemono', giving life to inanimate objects such as the ship and possibly gingerbread/candy soldiers (which would explain why she ate some of her crew).

Shoda Nirengeki's the real mystery, so far. Nirengeki is basically "double-hit/attack," but "Shoda" is as boring a name as Midoriya, kanji-wise.
Maybe he's like a human Wobbuffet or Reject Dial, dishing out twice the damage he receives?
