I think Drake would want immunity from presecution more than anybody since ever since One Piece started mutiny has been viewed as a crime warranting death.

Drake does not strike me as the kind of guy who takes decisions without considering the repercussions. I use the scene in New World against Kaidou's men as proof of this assumption. This is why it seems unlikely that he would accept the title just to save himself from their wrath. He must've known all the too well the consequences of desertion before he made his move.

Considering he was at what REAR admiral rank. Isn't that just 1 below vice admiral? And how Garp made a huge deal about how he could do EVERYTHING he wanted and had total freedom at vice admiral, thus not wanting to be admiral. I highly doubt it was something the WG wouldn't let him do. He probably had plenty of freedom to go where he wanted and when.

EXCEPT criminal acts, which if that is the reason, then why would he want to be back under the WG's eyes even the slightest. I'm sure he didn't quit the marines so he could make a name for himself as a pirate, in order to become a warlord so that he is now essentailly a marine that can commit crimes. That just sounds stupid, imo.

THus i suspect it is a totally different reason he left marines, and due to that reason he would have nothing to do with them in future.

You don't know why he left or if he was forced to leave. Wether he left to make a name for himself, was forced to leave or even if he had some alterior purpose being a shicibukai could help him with his goal. So your arguments are he thinks the marines are icky so he'll pass up all the bonuses the marines offer him. To me it looks more like he's trapped into being a pirate. He doesn't seem to like chaos.

Well I would say they would've wiped out the Straw Hats at rainbase but that's too specific and hence a weak rebuttal on my part since it only serves to benefit the Marines. I just can't come to terms with Warlords being given the power to take Pacifistas on their campaigns; even if said campaigns involve wiping out other pirate crews and taking their treasures. As Sengoku put it, they don't like to see the Warlords thrive since they're pirates too, after all's said and done. Even with the fail safes that you mention that would make it difficult to abuse the Pacifistas, it somehow seems 'broken' to me. But you DO have a better argument than me, so I'll throw in the towel.

I dont no why i have to say this to people but take into consideration that luffy was trained by rayleigh possibly the best trainer out there and is still arguably not admiral level how the heck could coby the kid who got kicked around in the war like he didnt exist be anywhere near admiral level that would completely shit on luffys progress.
So people are saying coby should be stronger then pre timeskip luffy i dont think so if coby can jump to petty officer strength to anywhere near admiral strength then what the heck has luffy ussop, chopper franky, jimbei and so on been doing because lord knows there not admiral level heck i would be surprised if smoker is considered at that level Coby would be A Rear admiral at best vice admiral if your really pushing it as much as i love dragonball this is not dragonball.
Saying Cobys Admiral level is like saying he could fight on good ground with the yonkou, Coby will be no stronger then pre timeskip luffy Maybe a rear admiral.

This chapter. Omg this chapter. I hope to GOD there is a badass two page spread of Whitebeards commanders showing up in a pinch to help out the strawhats in the future. Or at least us finding out that they died fighting BB or something. This cannot be the end for them, especially not Marco.

When I think about it I like the way Oda did this. Cause I would not have been happy to see Aokiji serving under Akainu or giving up the title without a fight. Though I wonder what the fuck Kizaru was doing throughout the whole ordeal.

The only two I see becoming Admirals at this point is Magellan(I think this is extremely likely) and Smoker, who I assumed would be a Vice Admiral at this point. I assumed him to be a Vice Admiral not just because of strength, but because of the freedom. I've been thinking or a very long time that Smoker is to Luffy, what Garp was to Roger. Garp didn't want to become an Admiral(Despite his strength) because his high rank of Vice Admiral gave him a large amount of freedom and command, while not keeping him stuck at the leash by Marine HQ.

I assumed Smoker would be that rank because he could have the freedom to chase Luffy, without being prevented by Marine HQ. I could see him possibly becoming an Admiral after Luffy disappeared and didn't show up for a while. I don't think Smoker presumed him dead, however I do think he might take that high rank if Luffy wasn't around. Hell, perhaps he struck up a deal with Akainu to operate deep in the New World, so that if the Strawhats did show up again, and made it far in the New World, he could catch them.

With Magellan though, I think it's similar. After the Impel Down breakout, he was suicidal over everyone that escaped. I could see him becoming an Admiral to be able to chase the Level 6 prisoners in the New World. We know that this knowledge wasn't made public, and Akainu would probably let him covertly hunt them down.

Well he had a really high raise in rank and power pretty fast, I think if he isn't an Admiral he is 100% a Vice Admiral and one of the strongest ones, at the pace Luffy grew in the first part of the manga and after the timeskip and Smoker was stronger then him all along the way, Smoker can definetly be at that level.

I'm also interest to see where Coby is in the ranks right now(no I'm not suggesting he is an admiral, not at all).

People suggesting new characters, well to me that is kinda unecessary, why were those "new characters" not in the war when they were strong and were needed at that time? why would none of the old Vice Admirals be qualified for the job? we haven't seen the extent of most of their powers.

Obviously like I said with Smoker more younger marines might have become strong in this 2y gap and become Admiral level, it is acceptable but I would prefer to see something to be done with what we have,

If he is Vice Admiral level and he acts like a Garp/Sengoku/Kuzan, I wouldn't mind him being the new Aokji and Smoker being the new Akainu.

This is just a stupid theory and should be in the dumb theories but I would like to see Oda do something with Bogart.

Well Magellan did say he was going to go after the Level 6 prisioners as soon as he was good so yeah, I defiently see that, he is at that level from what we saw, I just question if BB didn't steal his fruit with his whole fruit hunt thing, if he wants strong fruits that is definetly an interesting one, unless Shillew tells them they would shit their pants most of the day if they get it haha.

Also part of the Magellan appeal and being super strong is that and since I doubt Oda would just discard him after what happened, I don't see him losing the fruit but yeah in my eyes Magellan is a nice suggestion.

That isn't haki, its instinct based on knowing what Nami is like. Sanji doesn't have it because he'd gladly do Nami's bidding to make her happy

Besides, even if your theory had any real implication it wouldn't mean that Sanji doesn't have haki, having a "bad feeling" is connected only to CoO haki, meaning that it would still leave the possibility of Sanji being able to use CoA haki, or it also could mean that his control of CoO haki just isn't as good as the other two yet.

People should stop thinking about haki as a black and white situation...

Agree, I originally also mistook their bad feeling as Haki. But i think it is not. Look at the three of them when punched by Nami. Sanji has hearts all over his flying body :D

So BB pirates will steal all strong DF abilities. And 4 of of SH original crews (before Grand Line) , Zoro, Nami, Sanji, Usopp were without any devil fruit power.
I think there will be a twist of DF power/abilities at the end of the series.
To rely on DF fruit power may prove some disadvantage in the future. Just a thought..

Sanji would never judge nami, that had absolutely nothing to do with haki they just no what nami is like with money hence the bad feeling.

Joz is missing an arm now; for a guy whose DF is secondary to his massive strength, that's a crippling blow. Essentially, except for Vista and Marco, all of the Division Captains took a beating during the war. My guess is that they split into multiple crews or retired.

I think haki can probably kill him and my guess is all the division leaders have stayed and the no name guys have left and maybe their allies are far fewer but I think it was shown that lots of guys loved WB for far more then his power and probably would be willing to help his crew out in a second

I'm sure Marco can be killed. Though I would prefer him being alive. If the crew split or retired i'd be dissapointed since it would basically the crew lying down and taking thier defeat which would be shameful.

Well I think that that would be to show how the crew has fallen apart since Whitebeard's death.

I see it playing out like this: The WB Pirates stayed together and tried to keep Whitebeard's territory until Blackbeard began to over take it. He began to fight the WB Pirates, Marco lost but survived, and the crew began to lose it's territory to Blackbeard and other New World Pirates. At this point maybe a few Commanders still keep at it. I could see them meeting Luffy at Ace and Whitebeard's graves and after they talk, Marco begins to round up the crew again, and in the final battle against the Marines, the crew will be together and ally themselves with Luffy.

He did say we would see more of the fruit power in the manga, though not sure if he elaborated through Marco or not. Unless he was trying to be sneaky with a cryptic answer i'm sure we'll see Marco before Teach tries to rip his fruit out of him, if that is where the story goes.

Is anyone interested in the fact that we might see the Black Beards with a fruit from a previous user that we could potentially know well? Basically Oda could have killed characters already off Panel. Jozu better be alive, I want to see how he is living without that arm!

Now his a full-fledged Marine officer.

So Magellan can fall in to the same category.

Also Being Admiral Does not Restrict a Disobedient/Carefree type of character, Such as Smoker and Aoikiji.
Just because Garp turned downed Being an Admiral due to Being more free as an Vice Admiral does not mean every admiral will be loaded with Multiple tasks.
Garp is a Loyal Soldier while Aoikiji and Smoker are Rebels.
Again I'm repeating myself but it needs to be addressed since people are ignoring it.

To those who say he can't be free as an admiral, than take a look at Kuzan who was a Carefree, Lazy ass Admiral.
Smoker in no way will be limited in his pursuit of Luffy as an Admiral.
Have we seen Any Punishment sent down upon Smoker Or Aoikiji for Disobeying orders or Insulting his Superiors? Nope!
He was in fact raised in rank so that the world see's the Marines as a powerful organization.
The Government can and will easily tolerate Smokers Personality, as long as they have him on their side fighting pirate/Rev.
As long as Smoker has Status in the World which Strikes fear in the enemies or Brings relief to the civilians; And his being their shows its power than The government will Tolerate Anything just like they Tolerate the Warlords or have with Aoikiji.

I agree as well, I don't think Smoker or Magellan are Admirals yet but Its not something that can be dismissed with what some of the Posters are Reasoning with.
I hope Smoker is at least but most likely not.
Since he did want to Be stationed at G5.

Because of Sentomaru and in the lasted chapter, something about the world government Giving more power to the Marines.
And in Smoker case, Using Garp as a Dismissal for Smoker Being an Admiral is also Not Valid.

I'm Wishing for Smoker Which is a possibility and Magellan is a Long Shot.

Heck, Someone brought up the Question about having 3 admirals and not just 1 or 4 or 5.
so we might only have 1 Admiral(Kizaru) for all we know.

Reason there should still be three Admirals is because there are two vacant positions. They should have had administrative duties that are now not being done if they are now Kizaru's sole responsibility. Wasn't it also a rule that there always had to be an Admiral at MF? Also for appearance sake three admirals makes more sense than one. The marines lost a large chunk of their power and a single Admiral makes that clear to any WG citizen or pirate. Should be as big a deal as loosing Croc or Moriah's defeat, it not bigger. Four or more admirals just lessens the significance of the rank.

Cipher Pol agents are secret assassins. A Giant Poison Nazi Satan Gorilla is hardly stealthy. CP9 could get in close and take out people then leave without anybody knowing who did it. Any confrontation with Mag is going to be a show. Not all of these escaped prisoners are going to be hiding on deserted islands and isolated bases.

It wouldn't be farfetched for Mag to quit his job as Warden and ask to be recruited into the marines. He would get a high position upon entering, not work his way up from the bottom. Definitely see him offered a Rear Admiral position upon entering, nothing lower than Commodore, then working his way up from there in two years. Even makes sense why he would increase in strength since he spent most of his time on the toilet. His top priority is most likely Shilliew and the others. Marine has a shot at Teach's crew not Cipher Pol.

You act like Smoker is the only strong and determined Marine under the level of Admiral. You shouldn't ignore and/or underestimate the Vice-Admirals. Onigumo, for example, is not above killing allies just to get his target. That's far more extreme than anything Smoker has shown and shows that he doesn't play around either.

Also, at Ryuksgelus, loud show-off Kumadori and big mouth Fukurou are totally stealthy, right? You bring a good point, though, but I still think Magellan would work better as a direct agent of the WG.

I…. have no idea. On the one hand, as you say, Jinbe doesn't use na for negation, which would lead me to believe that he's saying BB is using Gura Gura.
But!- if that's the case, why would he start with "strangely/oddly"? "Oddly enough, he's using the gura gura power that he stole..."
See... that makes no sense in context, and I don't know why Oda would waste his precious dialogue space on something that would seem obvious to us.

If I were forced to guess, I'd say he's not using the power, because that makes it something worth informing us of, and worth the use of "strangely."

Another place where MR and MS differed was in the final lines, so here's my take on that:

Also, did you read my post entirely? I said that it would more likely for Magellan to be part of the Cipher Pol. That way, he would be able to chase the Level 6 fugitives in secrecy, like the WG would want. I'm not against Magellan going after criminals.

Actually it's a lot less likely. Only because the CPs are raised from little children at their secret martial art home town. Unless the raising of (mostly) orphans is reserved for only CP9 I say it's a lot less likely for him to be in the Cipher Pol.

Edit:
CP1-8 Seem to have any random fighting styles. So he could be a part of that. But only CP9 are a secret and they are raised from very young ages to the human weapons that we saw.

Knowing Oda, as he's not lazy with new characters, will introduce new admirals instead of keeping one. Would be interesting to see new characters as admirals.

But to have someone unknown rise to the ranks of an Admiral would be…weird. I mean, someone in that position would have to come from a Vice-Admiral, or at least some big shot in the marines. And if he is a big shot, chances are we've seen him already during the war.

What u think Oda will just say "Hey this is the new Admiral, u've never seen him before but he's actually very strong". "Why wasn't he at the war? Had to take care of some family business so he just skipped the war".

I think the government could implement their own personnel if they wanted. Im sure there are plenty of people who are just as powerful, if not even stronger than vice admirals or the "previous" admirals.

But, who knows. I just cant see any of the vice admirals taking those positions because they dont have that"type" of essence following them. If anything it will be characters like Onigumo, Doberman, or Strawberry, all of which actually seem like government dogs like Akainu.
