What? I said he lived to an old age, a good thing, and that his older work is great.
Not going to pretend that he picked great roles until the end just because he died. Airplane was 1980, THIRTY YEARS AGO. Naked Gun 33 was back in 1994. Did he do anything truly memorable or great after that? He was in like 25 movies since then.
He had a huge resume. He was in a lot of stuff and a huge body of work to be proud of spanning 50 years, and some of it was very good. But his last 16 years? Not so much.
And you're the one choosing the phrase "shitty comedies".
