Wowwwwwwww what an awesome chapter! Love seeing Mr. 3 back in the mix. Did not expect him "sacrificing" himself for the greater good. So awesome seeing Sengoku's devil fruit, I wonder what he is exactly?
Chapter 571 "The Execution Stand" Discussion
-
-
Somehow I sort of expected this over several chapters (considering all the epicness this time with Garp, Sengoku and Ace…finally breaking out, heck even Mr. 3 did his part), but it was still epic none the less! Great chapter and thanks for the early release.
-
How huge could Sengoku be? As huge as those Marine Giants standing in front of execution platform? And did Sengoku change back to normal state as soon as he jumped off the platform??
-
if they do then they better not use aohige's translations.
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/569/14-15/
btw somebody pointed it out in the spoiler thread. looks like mr 3 was in the pic but nobody noticed.
I'am only asking for the camera raw to be online but I'm not forcing anyone too. Just asking for one.

The cam raw is in these pages and forward on in the thread.

AWESOME!!
Like almost everybody OP fans I also think Garp intentionally let luffy punch him:ninja:
-
The tides aren't changing, Ace is still in the marines custody. "Ace" is actually Hax-Goat infiltrating the Shirohige pirates using one of many powers granted by the Hax Hax no Mi he ate.
-
Garp close his eyes and give luffy a chance to lay a punch on his face to save ace… he really love his grandson so much :(
-
How did Mr.3 end up in the execution platform anyway. He sure did change his get up pretty fast, not even Sengoku noticed him there. Koodos to him for his stealthy move.
I wonder what kind of punishment Garp will receive after this war has subsided. Looks like its grim for WB though.
-
Yay, pics! Big thanks to Aohige and Urouge.
This chapter rocks so hard. Because of his position I can see why Garp had to make a stand, but it really touched my heart that he couldn't bring himself to hurt his grandson. Mr. 3 wanting to honor Mr 2's final wish wasn't something I expected and was also rather sweet.
Whoa, Sengoku. What kind of fruit is that? It seems to not only have affected his size (and strength, I assume), but it also made him…shiny? It's kinda creepy to look at (however the shiny afro is beyond cool). Is he supposed to be covered in gold?
And w00t--Ace is free! We all saw this coming, but it was great to see it anyway.
I'm so happy. :D
-
Mr. 3 is a hero, just goes to show you, stealth is better than just forcing your way through, the dude was already there.
-
Damn, I thought the Mr.3 from last chapter looked incredibly weird… never would think Oda did it purposefully.
-
Garp close his eyes and give luffy a chance to lay a punch on his face to save ace… he really love his grandson so much :(
Yeah if Luffy is just a pirate with no connection to him in anyway he wouldn't go easy on him
and as always thanks Aohige-AP for a quick cam chapter translation
-
a million thanks to Aohige and Urouge.
wow, kizaru sure is an annoying bitch…
-

you cant deny that he is cunning. Heck he even fooled crocodile (when he tried to kill him). Then going back to level 1 from level 5 without being noticed and blocking the poison attacks showed that he has balls too.
EDIT: also we need to change to golden afro sengoku :D
-
@Mark:
w8 didn't mr 3 tried to execute ace b4 he got knocked out by luffy??
Looking back at the page in question, http://www.mangastream.com/read/one_piece/569-17/12, the guard on the left is falling in a different way than the guard on the right. From perspective, it seems that Mr. 3 was the character on the right of Ace. Honestly, the guard on the right seems like the less likely guard to be a mole since it looks like he's going to cut Ace's head, but the angle could also be Mr. 3 getting ready to stab the other guard.
Foreshadowing or over analysis of a single panel? Either way it's not surprising that Mr. 3 was able to pull that off. He was always known as a strategist and its cool that the extremely clever but physically weak character played a crucial part in the war.
@Fortysix2:Okay so Mr.3 FAINTED coz of Luffy's Haki!! Thats something because Oda has shown just rookies getting fainting till date.
There was also Jango.
Other real notes on the chapter:
Sengoku's fruit: Afro Afro fruit. Sengoku is using afro power right now.
Honestly though, I'm disappointed with the powers Sengoku showed. So he became real big with shiny hair. The strength must be incredible since this is I think the first time Luffy was injured using Gear 3. Otherwise, I'm underwhelmed with his abilities and would easily change my mind depending on how the powers are used in future chapters. I wish there were shots of pirates trying to shoot at him when he was trying to kill Ace since he just became a bigger target. Fullmetal Alchemist referenceThe Garp and Luffy fight was handled well. It was short enough so that it didn't take the bulk of the chapter, but long enough too convey the emotional impact of the scene. Luffy taking advantage of Garp's hesitation was believable.
The funny thing though is that I don't believe that Garp is down for the count. I think he pulled what Oda has done to Luffy multiple times before: Garp's head is just stuck in the ground. It's funny in retrospect.I guess this is the "climax" since Ace is free. Now its just one final twist when the Pirates try to escape and the war will be over.
-
Garp closed his eyes and gave luffy a chance to lay a punch on his face to save ace… he really loves his grandson**'s** so much :(
figured fix that up a bit. the constant showing of ace and luffy in flashbacks was to show how much he loved them both. i can see Garp being fine, well still took damage, but mainly just laying there in that hole thinking/crying/or whatever.
-
I wonder what a Daibutsu fruit would be classified as. Hopefully Sengoku gets in a scuffle with someone so we can see what else he can do with it.
-
Mr 3 saving Ace is Oda's yajiroba cutting Vegeta's tail moment. We will never forget…
-
"
SHOCKING REVELATION!! Ace didn't get executed!!" put that in the hidden please! you just spoiled everything… :( -
Mr. 3's fruit is really meant for an intelligent criminal. He once again has shown his ability. Though he may not be able to speak with the same voice, if I remember correctly, he also made clones of Strawhats.
How did Luffy recognize Mr.3 though? he hasn't shown his hear.
-
so its interesting how Oda drew Sengoku all shodowy, as if he didnt want to spoil the entirety of his power..yet.
Also, How many pages is this? seems short again????? when is it gonna be normal?
-
Question about Sengoku. Is he solid gold/metal now?
-
Cool chapter! Can't wait to see it up later on in the week.
-
Maybe someone talk about it in the previous chapter, but… Buggy didn't fall from the Haki outburst by Luffy yet Mr. 3 did.
-
Thank you Aohige and Urouge!
This chapter was awesome!! Definitely one of my favorites during this arc. So much goodness! Buddha Sengoku is amazing Q I know people think the df is a little lame but I love it.
But the biggest highlight was Mr. 3! I got choked up when he said he did it for fallen Mr. 2. He didn't want Mr.2's sacrifice to be made is vain ("Luffy save your brother!") T-T
I know some of you were hoping for an executed Ace but if it's any consolation, now that the chains are off emo!Ace is most certainly dead… you know, for at least for a few more chapters until coughWBDIEScough.
-
-
Hmm…It would be interesting if Oda will create a situation where Ace has to decide between WB and Luffy. XD
-
This was a totally predictable plot but I still can't help but scream in joy! FIRE FIST ACE-SAN HAS BEEN REVIVED AND IS GOING TO KICK SOME MARINE ASS!!!!!! WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Maybe someone talk about it in the previous chapter, but… Buggy didn't fall from the Haki outburst by Luffy yet Mr. 3 did.
Well, if Haki can be aimed in certain directions Mr. 3 would have gotten hit with the full force of it so it doesn't really surprise me to much.
Plus, he wasn't down for long so I think he handled the blast alright.
-
Best part was Mr 3 response to Luffy :D loved it.
-
I think Buggy's strong enough to take a haki blast, despite not being that strong. The guy has tanked a bunch of damage so far.
-
there's no WAY everything is over just because Ace is free o.o I mean… I just can't imagine it being that easy xD
-
Blackbeard appears next chapter and slaughters millons on both sides…ZEHAHAHAHAHAHA
-
Sengoku's coat got really massive after he used his ability. He could make a lot of money selling those at big and tall stores.
Also, it took me a few minutes but I think the "oh no" line on page 15 comes from Sengoku himself (back to normal) instead of Kizaru.
I think Buggy's strong enough to take a haki blast, despite not being that strong. The guy has tanked a bunch of damage so far.
Of course! The man is the original Usopp after all.
-
Great chapter, a mind blowing one, amazing how everithing can fit so well in just 17 pages, Garp, Sengoku, Mr. 3 and finally Ace released in a badass spread, he can finally get over that Damsel in distress bullshit and fight for his own ass.
Garp situation was handle pretty well, and Mr. 3 was surely the MAN in this chapter, Shichibukai, Commanders, Marines, Captains, etc and is going to be him the one who decide the outcoming of this battle.
Oda truly wanted to save sengoku for another battle, for not even showing his appearance as a giant at this point.
-
there's no WAY everything is over just because Ace is free o.o I mean… I just can't imagine it being that easy xD
Well, of course not.
Now they have to get out. :]
-
I expect much redemption to Ace in coming chapters.
-
Great chapter! Eagerly awaiting Blackbeard crying havoc.
-
great stuff. Very uplifting chapter. Garp is so great!
And Mr. 3 is the shit
-
16 chars of unbeliavable.
p.s: although Buggy didnt seem to have planned it with Mr. 3, he's sure to get the fame for it, since Mr. 3 is kind of part of "his crew" now.
-
Awesome. Nice to see Mr 3 doing some cool stuff there.
-
Unless the Marines have a trump card up their sleeves, they have been made out to be massive ineffectual failures, without the Admirals they would have been steamrolled a long time ago. Even Sengoku's DF ability seems underwhelming.
-
Well, there may be more to Sengoku's df…
-
About Mr. 3 fainting and Buggy not, Mr. 3 has no real ambition in life, he was content with laying around at a resort, while Buggy has been shown wanting to find all of the treasures on land.
-
Can we do an Ace is finally FREE!!! dance?
And Mr. 3 wins so many points because of his reason for wanting to free Ace.
-
@Red:

Dont get your hopes up chuck. Ace was going to be set free ever since he was captured by Blackbeard. The marines were always going to be made out as "massive ineffectual failures" as much bullshit as that whole expression is.

True dat.
Anyone who thought that:
-Ace wouldn't be freed
-Sengoku wouldn't have a DF
is naive. And I still contend that WB won't die, which makes all the hooting and hollering about the war being a turning point storytelling-wise a bunch of nonsense. And if I'm wrong about that in the end then I'll admit it.The biggest wtf in this chapter is the heroics and noble intentions of humble little Galdino. I suppose it didn't all come as a total heel-face turn, considering his efforts to slow Magellan/help prisoners, but it still feels like he's progressed a bit too much as a character, as compared to his initial appearances as a sadistic and pathetic toady.
San for nakama anyone? Anyone?
Oh, and I nominate Kizaru for most infuriatingly persistent roadblock of a character. He's there at every damn turn to f*** Luffy's efforts up. Although I doubt it'll happen, I hope he's the one that Luffy manages to beat someday…
-
Did anyone notice how similar this arc was to Enies lobby? Where Robin was freed somewhat as easily as Ace is, and the end of the arc was all of them trying to escape.
I see a lot of similarity between this arc and the Enies lobby one, well the fact that they have to rescue someone.
I'm glad that Ace is finally free, but I don't think he was being too emotional or anything. Frankly, I think Oda has been very conservative in how he dealt with Ace. Though, maybe the Oars Jr. flashback was a bit too much.
-
Well, there may be more to Sengoku's df…
I hope so, just being big didn't help John the Giant, Oars, Oars Jr, Saul, or Urouge.
