Right, I'm not disagreeing with you. That's why Garp hid him somewhere the Marines wouldn't find him.

They do know but Garp is the hero of the Marines so there is a special exception going on in there somewhere just for Garp.

I don't think Coby/Koby did anything that made him lose his place in the navy. Sengoku did after all agree with what he said, and that combined with Shanks words pushed him into the decision to stop the war and tend to the injured.

If I remember right Sengoku said that he would take the responsibility for making that decision so it shouldn't affect Coby's position, other then the absolute justice marines like Akainu not liking anymore.
