It's his choice if he wants to move on. I'm just grateful for all the accurate translations he has done. Thanks for all your hard work(if you are reading this)
-
I'm really upset that he has stop translating.
To me, he was the only one who translated OP excellently; did it justice, and I've always been reading them. I just don't know what I'm gonna do now.But thanks Stephen for all the wonderful chapters you've done.
-
Wow, talk about a big hit. I mean, whenever there was a question about a name or place, it always came to "ask Stephen!"
Now, it's like there's this void.
-
Thanks for being the most accurate translator to the series yet! We can take it from here with your words in mind when wisdom is in question.
-
Well now who is everyone going to refer to when there's a translation argument?
Thanks for the hardwork Stephen. I always looked forward to the SBS sections (since I don't have very many of the tankouban (got mostly the LOG books).

Stephen always provided the best translations and i'm sad to see him stop but ten years and 445 chapters are still an amazing achievement. I'd just like to thank Stephen if he is reading for the hours and years of enjoyment.

stephen finally reached the wind swept peak of the translators summit.
-
words can't describe
-
I don't lnow what to say…
-
i cannot express how thankful i am for all the translations
but awful news, thumbs down
-
He and Labaamen are the two best translators I've ever seen. He will be sorely missed. Goodnight, sweet prince. ;;

As sad as this is (Read: INCREDIBLY SAD) We have to realize that it's his choice whether or not to translate, and if he's done he's done.
I for one am thankful and happy that he gave us such wonderful work for as long as he has.
I do hope he doesn't take down what he's done until now though. That way, we will at least have his translations of everything SO FAR (Which is a HELL OF A LOT) to compare things to at the very least.

That indeed makes me a sad panda. Thanks for all that hard work you've done these years.

-
Thanks for all the translations stephen. Who will we quote now? That's a real problem
sob
-
Wow, did he die or something?
He's doing other manga, so be more optimistic -
That's not fair, I thought The Dude died and someone hacked into his account to alert us.
Fortunately, nobody died. And I am happy about that.
But yeah, I knew of stephen's translations. All good. All good.

Yeah, because the dude is ten years old.
Anyway, it's sad to think we'll no longer have stephen's top quality translations, which were often the last word in a debate. But the Pirates Summit beckons us all someday.

Hey, hey, it's possible!
But yeah, it's a shame.

I think he was contributing to arlong park back at the beginning in 2002. From your viewpoint he would have been three. Which would have been quite the neat trick.

So Stephen goes out into the Great Yonder. Sad. I always looked forward ot reading his translations of the volume SBS's. I found his stuff a bit flowery, but he was the go-to guy for translation disputes.
Well, thanks for nearly 550 chapters of content.
-
Meh ~
-
Hey um, I know this might be pretty sad and all, but I'm not exactly sure if I've ever seen this guy's translations or not
Anybody think they can hook me up with at least a page of what he's done, or something?

There you go sniper - By the way, glad to see you're back!
-
Wow, this dude really does seem like the shit
Now I'm sad -
Oh damn, and i was visiting everyday, waiting for vol.54 SBS/interview.
This is a sad day. -
One Piece loses his best translator.
When I start reading OP, Stephen's translations already exists. It's like a piece of this manga go missing. And this really make me sad.
I still hope you'll change your mind, Stephen. -
-
This sendoff can't be complete without a
Native Welsh Choir serenading Stephen into silence ~ -
Very sad indeed. If it wasn't for Stephen I don't think we non-japanese readers would have understood One Piece like we do now.
Thanks for your work to make us understand exactly what Oda meant.
Thanks for your law (stephen's law)!
Thanks for everything and good luck with everything you plan to do. -
Well that is sad news indeed but anyway, thank you stephen. Your hardwork and dedication over the last ten years has been greatly appreiciated.

Thanks for your hard work these last 10 years. You will be missed. Perhaps you'll dawn the forums from your lurk and make the occasional post here and there (;_;)
-
Awwww… moon is sad. Stephen was always there when you wanted to roll over someones "alternative" translation.
@Battle:
stephen finally reached the wind swept peak of the translators summit.
Where is that summit? Is he gonna meet his brother there?
-
thats….just damn sad for every OP-fan
best translations we could even hope for and now he`s quitting..
thx for all the effort..you
re the best you won

tries to find the words, fails, stalks off into the sunset thoroughly depressed
-
I would make a Pirates' Summit joke, wait… no, I'm not that clever.
Sad to see ya go, Stephen. I'll be the first to admit I haven't really read your translations before, but I knew very well of your work and considered you one of the most reliable sources in the OP community. Float on.
-
hmm… I never really knew who translated, I didn't pay much attention. But if you're the one who's been doing most of it and you're as good as these guys are saying, thank you for all of your work.
-
Nep Ece won't be quite the same without your top quality translations. But thanks for all the hard work and quality over the years. It wasn't said by everyone every week like it should have been, (myself included) but we always appreciated it. You were THE go to go when something needed clearing up.
So long and thanks for all the fish.
