      @Maxy:

      It's a shame for Kurokuroku (and inevitably Himedol) to go. Both felt like they had huge potential, at least early on, like experimental comics trapped in the… trappings of Weekly Shonen Jump comics. Kinda a curse you see a lot with newbie creators, huh.

      That's exactly how I feel about Soul Catcher(S). I still think it has some life left in it though.

      Aohige, how was Monster Kingdom by Urasawa? I hope a concept like that goes to series, since he has overlapped before….

    • RE: Oprah and her over 9000 thing

      @Tsuchirinhon:

      It's hard to piss on cultural and religious symbols when your dick is in the mouth of a elementary school student, so I'm not sure where you got that impression from.

      Oh, and why do you hate slaves so much? They invented cotton and kept the Nazis busy long enough for us to bust all up in there with tanks.

      Look, this has nothing to do with that, it's about Oprah being an uninformative, manipulative con artist who's being exposed for who she really is. I seriously doubt she really cared about the children being raped by those nine thousand penises, because if she did, she wouldn't assume that such a far-fetched thing was more likely than the alternative, someone on the forum was just being stupid. I personally think that she was aware of how dumb it sounded, and she deliberately ignored the probable truth in order to manipulate her herd of viewers.
      So, now that you guys have heard my opinion of the situation, please remember that THIS is what you're supposed to be talking about, not "how old is old enough?"
      Please keep on topic, >>>or there will be consequences.<<<<

      What happened to the Gohn I knew that would toss little children into seas of mud for giggling at his eyepatch that he still has on his crusty skin six months past October?

      Are you to busy chatting up with giddy slaves over a warm cup of piss water in the morning to even consider committing lesser, maybe even tolerable, evils all while trying to make lucid posts?

      I mean, really dude, I know the recession, women's rights, and the NewPork hivemind are bringing the system down to the warmest pit of hell, but fuck, drain yourself of all the angst for a bit.

      just a bit.

      Time to give Sentoumaru a go

      Awesome.

      It certainly does a respectable job imitating and respecting Oda's bright style while somehow not zooming past overboard with the color. Totally diggin' the red, too.

      You can't just expect someone to up and go look for it on the internet, man. Gotta baby 'em a little.

      Awesome. It's a pretty amazing piece of work, and especially a great introduction to Bowie's style.

      Okay fine, I was just asking.

      And everyone's cool with that.

      Now go listen to Hunky Dory already.

      @Satsuki:

      I admit my knowledge of David Bowie doesn't go much farther beyond Labyrinth, but I loved his cameo in Zoolander. The man knows how to pick movies.

      He's probably one of the easiest artists to jump into and have an immense appreciation for regardless of where you start in his career. As long as you have the desire, the last thing it should feel like is an uphill ordeal.

      On another note, his Zoolander cameo was indeed incredible.

      Anyway, I was entertaining the idea of creating an all-encompassing "favorite band/singer thread. So does anyone mind if we just change this thread into…well...that?

      Please, let's just maintain this thread's purity for just a bit longer.

      Probably one of the few artists around who can actually stand firm on the pedestal he's put upon.

      I've always loved his career in the 80's since I was a kid, (yes, Labyrinth played a part in that.) but his earlier works definitely blow it out of the water.
      Rebel Rebel, Space Oddity, Life on Mars, and anything of the like are all wonderfully structured, and anyone should be happy to have them ingrained into their minds.

      That said, _Life on Mars ,_and the entire Hunky Dory album for that matter,are required listening for any individual.
