Chapter 538 "Lv5.5 New Comer (Kama) Land" Discussion
-
-
One Piece will be absent of the Jump #21 (20/04).
at least we still have next week
hopefully next weeks cliff hanger will sustain us for 2 weeks -
We get two more chapters before that…
-
-
This chapter appeared in Jump #19, meaning there's just one more chapter before #21, then the double issue, then the break for the whole magazine.
-
Too bad most likely double issue does not mean double One Piece.

lol has it ever meant double one piece or double any manga?
-
So we get two more weeks of One Piece, then a week of no One Piece?
-
i have a feeling luffy won't be able to take aces cuffs off until his battle is over. it would be to much of an advantage for luffy if ace was able to back him up.
i agree but not completely.
it would be a rukus, a true all out war
-
@Muscle:

yep
i with iva surprise i think its about time we get a haki explaination
cause luffy can't beat the warden without haki -
This was a great chapter. I was partially right on what Iva-san's power was. I predicted it was a gender gender fruit. But it isn't, it's the Hormone Hormone fruit. Also, I liked how Mr. 2 was cheering for Luffy to not to give up. Lastly, I liked how Luffy screamed "Food" at the end of the chapter. Probably next chapter, Luffy will eat lots of food, and probably will be healed and start going after Ace. And Mr. 2 and Iva-san probably will help Luffy succeed in doing this.

assuming that luffy will be fully healed in less than the time it takes the warden to finish doing his buissness
and considering the marines are already there i doubt that would be long -
One Piece will be absent of the Jump #21 (20/04).
so there will be a break before the golden week break? damn we are gonna have to go 2 weeks without one piece. :(
-
Aww man :/. Though we can likely expect something to kick off right after the break, so I guess it'll be worth the wait :).
-
the chapter kicked tail. seems to me more and more that ace will end up dead though.
i wonder when crocodile will get involved…...least we finally know where he, Jimbei, and Ace are. -

No. One more chapter (this week), then a week off.
There will be another week off for Golden Week, too, so we're going to be having two skip weeks over the next month.

Ah man that's fucking lame Oda better leave us with something epic.
-
man there has been so many weeks off lately for one piece. :(
-
I predict that in chapter 539 luffy will eat a lot.
Thank you! Thank you! I know i'm the best. -

Thank you! Thank you! I know i'm the best. And he will eat while asleep - his body recuperating from the ordeal of the treatment.

Thank you! Thank you! I know i'm the best.i think you just predicted Goda!!
-
I'm confused on how many more chapters we're getting this month. We get one this week and then we don't get one for like 2 weeks? Or is it 3 weeks? The reason I ask if it's 3 weeks if because Golden Week ends on May 5th, a Tuesday. I'm assuming they'd just take that week off as well.
-
-
-
If there is no chapter next or in 2 weeks just go out and enjoy the fresh air. Everyone… please stop this complains. One piece is not everything...
-
he will eat a ton in a second and then he will reach ace,use haki and this will be the end.
-
It would be awesome if Luffy and Ace and a shitload of prisoners get outside of Impel Down, but they're surrounded by Marine battleships. All of a sudden several ships explode, and from the smoke come Whitebeards fleet and picks them up
-
This chapter made me cream my pants.
-
When Luffy shouted "FOOD!" how come that wasn't haki? Shoul;d have had everyone running around for food!
-

And some here will argue that the chains and the door were able to block that haki burst? What does make more sense:
1. Luffy broke his chains and freed himself
2. Luffy had a haki burst due to him being hungry and broke the chains…
3. Luffy ate his chains cause his body was screaming for IRON.... So that he will become a strong dude. Also consider the other scenes we have seen luffy using that mysterious power before answering the question :)
-
I think Luffy will eat a ton really quickly like other people have said, but he'd better hurry it up if he wants to catch Ace-san before he's taken to Marine HQ. The transport ship has already arrived!

Let's hope Magellan has enough trouble coming out of the toilets to earn some time :p

1. Luffy broke his chains and freed himself
2. Luffy had a haki burst due to him being hungry and broke the chains…How about he ate the chains that were holding him? Would explain why those are gone while the other chains on the outside are still there. ;)
-
Why is it so hard to believe he just broke and/or took off the chains? Because they held him down for 20 hours? Meh, I think it was just done like that to look more dramatic; him on the floor instead of still chained up. Not worth discussing. Something we would have overlooked were we not waiting a week per release. Do people still think that "burst" was haki??

Oh nooo how could i forget that one….
EDIT: I fixed it! we now have 3 answers ladies and gentlemen. -
Well, I still think it's haki. It seems likely, as his arms look like they have no strength in them right now. Though I'm kind of hoping that haki gets explained soon, so that may make my opinion biased.
-
lets see if i recall correctly back in water 7 luffy was pinned down super tight to the ground and used his rubber body to free himself. it looked like it was harder to escape those than these chains.
and look at Luffy's body, he is also much much thinner. didn't think you would even have to think about it. luffy could sneak out of those chains easy. he IS still rubber, just because he is like super skinny and all doesn't mean he can't stretch and all still.
-
That's another likely possibility, though it's less badass than the other two. Wait, three (eating chains).

There are plenty examples in reality where you make one last move with the rest of your energy leaving you empty (no strength) after that. That's common. And normally everyone will make predictions based on reality stuff before going to use the mystery (haki).
AND at water 7 he freed himself from being stucked between 2 huge buildings with raw power. That shows what he really is able to do (Even after being in pain all this time due to the regeneration). -
But do we really know it was just raw power? For all we know he was unknowingly using haki to break free once he realised that Robin was going to sacrifice herself.
I'm not saying it's not possible that it was raw power, but even so, Luffy had been trying and trying ever since he was stuck, and only after hearing that was he able to muster up all the strength required to tear apart two buildings.
-
@Maes:

This is your assumption. I saw no hint of him using haki so i guess that he used his brute power to free himself cause he felt a rush to help robin now knowing that she is sacrificing herself…
We haven't seen him trying to free himself i would call it being depressed that robin left them... Cause everytime a friend is in need luffy will be more powerful. That's also normal. Didn't you had moments in your life you were full of energy because you needed it at that moment? I had (besides being a sponge!!! yeah plankton is a threat...) -
Well, you're right, I was just making assumptions, but it seemed similar to when Shanks scared off the Sea King way in the beginning of the series. Back then it was just badass, but look how that turned out. Yeah, he probably was depressed about Robin leaving, but I doubt he'd just sit there doing nothing, and he did state he was stuck. It's true that you sometimes get a rush of strength when you need it, but somehow this just seemed a bit different.
It wouldn't really bother me either way though, if it was raw power or power + haki. I'd just like a clear explanation of haki someday so we won't have to do quite so much guessing about what can and cannot be done with it.
-
I have a question:
Chapter 539 leave this Wednesday (approximately)
Then, 27 th leave the Jump #22 and chapter 540. But, and the Golden Week? Another week without One Piece?
Tnx
-
btw that black slab luffy was chained to, could it of been sea stone? that thing looks like something the prison uses on people to torture.
-

Considering that sea stone weakens the user as well as nullifies their powers, it would be a really bad place ot put one thats trying to heal. So, its probably NOT seastone.
-
Luffy's heart woulda 'sploded…
-
The slab was indeed seastone. But Luffy's Haki nullified the seastone effects, broke the chains which were also made of steel btw, and also banged the door for him while he was on the ground.
Haki is awesome. Awesome is Haki.

Weakens, doesn't nullify.
-
@Zik:
Weakens, doesn't nullify.
Weakens permanent paramecia, nullifies zoan and logia.
Regardless, the point is whenever we've seen Luffy exposed to seastone, he's been a wobby worthless unable to move mess. He would not do well on slab of it, especially not while tyring to HEAL.
