Thanks for the chapter Kiavik.
Chapter 513 "I couldn't even…!!!" Discussion
-
-
just read the chapter and it seems like the crew is going off in their own direction =/
-
Great chap
Didn't think Oda would've conveyed how helpless Luffy was in that situation, he did a good job there.
Brook = lulz
So from wherever OM got their trans is it official that the crew is scattered?
If their knocked backwards or on opposite ends(of the GL) I'd like to see their little one island journey back to SA.
-
Yep, this next few weeks, depending on how fast Luffy and the gang will regroup, will brood over this defeat for a while. Bring out those Sasuke rooster heads everybody; it's Emo Time! My guess is that the group will be separated as they were, Team Luffy (Luffy, Chopper, Robin) with Robin snapping Luffy out of his emoness, team Sanji (Sanji, Nami, Franky) with Nami snapping Sanji out of his emoness, and team Zoro (Zoro, Usopp, Brook) with Brook snapping the rescuer of his shadow out of his emoness (yohoho bitches, yohoho). Let's hope it happens like that. Also, it's good to have the old Rob Lucci back?
-
Great chapter, one of the best I've read. I thought page 14, with Nami literally crying for help, and the panels at the end with Luffy on the ground alone were the two most powerful ones, I thought. I am really looking forwardto seeing this animated, as the anime usually excells at injecting the needed emotion into the powerful scenes.
I wouldn't want to be where ever Monster Chopper got teleported though.
-
LuffyxNami canon.

i keep thinking for some reason 1 could go to North blue, 1 to south blue, or even some of the SH could go way back to east blue.
then again ..who knows how far they will go?
-
Jet Gatling: Stop trying too hard
Sir Croc:..NoAnyway i'm wondering what will become of Rayleigh, because by the looks of it hes alone against Kizaru, his nephew and possibly Kuma.
I'm not one to make predictions here, but I think the next few chapters will show us where each member is currently and what thier next move will be(in the order of who was vanished).
Also, even though he defeated them, Kuma still 'saved' them and with the communication to Rayleigh there seems to be some sort of conspiracy going on(not jumping to conclusions though).
Though, this is just pure speculation-cant wait til next week!
-
Wow… Looks like Luffy learns the limitations of his power. I hope he does not give up.
-
@Zik:
Brook = lulz
i'm glad i'm not the only person that noticed the pure comedy that is Brooke. even in the most desperate and serious situation Oda manages to throw a bit of comedy in there.
the whole Nami screaming for Luffy and asking him to save her… heartbreaking.:cwy:
-
this is a devastating/terrifying chapter.
very movie 6-ish.
-
We have two possibilities now, one is that they have been sent to the same flying for 3 days and they will return to the same place for the coating.
The second one is the travel to hell, a long arc composed of several mini arcs everyone starred by one of the Shichibukai. Why am I naming it "hell arc"?
Kuma, Kizaru and Sentoumauru (Curiously he is based in Kintarou if I am not wrong) are Kerberus, the guardian of hell and after this battle they have been sent to the hell everyone of them, everyone of them has a "sin" that they will have to surpass in order to go to the purgatory and save their "soul" that in this case is the name and honor of the crew.
Like the "Divine Comedy" where the hell was composed by 9 levels the Strawhats will have to survive in their 9 personal hells before they will be reunited with the others.
In this case Luffy could de Dante and he will find someone who is an important pirate of the past that will become his guide, this man could be Rayleigh or any other but the next travel could be Luffy in search of his "loved one" who are his Nakamas.
-
It's one of those lines writen by the Jump guys, they're not always truth
Edit: Even so, they are scattered at this moment, that doesn't mean they won't arrive at the same destination…
at this point, anything is possible.
-
well that was hmm …. AWESOM-O. Luffy's emotions were priceless.
Still have this feeling that SH's are gona end somewhere safe (well almost any place is safer than Archipelago now) and what kuma did was good for SH's. Kuma saved them from PX-1 twice so i cant figure out how Kuma's doings are bad. -
"i couldn't even save a single nakama…" :cwy:
-
Am I supposed to wait 5 days to know what happens in the next chapter? Oi, wasn't torture illegal?

-

looks like not quite… damn, it's going to be very interesting... I'm counting on you Oda, don't dissapoint us
-
You know. I always noticed something. Almost everytim Sanji is in trouble, it's mostly followed by a panel involving Nami(most of the time its wiith her hands over her mouth). I'm going to skim though my volumes agian to see this XD
-
probably the most epic chapter of OP…
seems like Kuma was helping them, but why should he make it easy? I still get the impression he may be working with Dragon... or maybe it is Vegapunks plan
It also, seems he is VERY powerful...far more powerful than even his bounty suggests
People complaining that Luffy didnt do anything in the spoiler thread...well he did everything he could, but he was easily defeated. This is great....it makes it feel like they progress in the story and there are giant hurdles to overcome
-
I'm positive that Kuma is saving them. He said something to Rayleigh without speaking, to which Rayleigh replied "how do I know you're not lying?". We know the SHs had very little chance escaping, in their condition.
Oda you genius; we are going to see some individual storylines and an emotional reuniting. Then a Fishman Island arc followed by the New World. Best of all though, we are getting nearer to the arrival of the Whitebeard Pirates. Oda has split the crew, and I think it can end up being one of his best ever twists; it changes the flow of the narrative and gives us something different and hopefully gripping.
-
Incredible chapter, I can only hope Kuma's reason for saving them isn't something really dumb.

how are they going to reunite with everyone?????
where did kuma send them????
are they all going to be separated or will some of they be in a group. -
@MonkeyDMalcolm:
how are they going to reunite with everyone?????
where did kuma send them????
are they all going to be separated or will some of they be in a group.yeah, I think they will be in small groups…otherwise there will be too much story involved...
as per usual, the weak trio will be together....
Brooke and zoro, who will bond as swordsmen
sanji and franky, much to sanjis disgust
Luffy and robin
thats sounds like the correct groups
-
The tears started coming right when Brooke vanished. He couldn't even finish his joke! Sucks too cuz he's the "New Guy" and he was ready to lay his life on the line. I just started sobbing uncontrollably when Nami was Paw'd. She cried out to Luffy for help for God's sake. What a damper on this seemingly nice day.
Hey lets not forget though, Nami has a Vivre card. Remember the one Lola gave to her? It's possible that Nami might use it to get to Lola's mom, who would then help her find everyone else. Or, perhaps at some undiscolsed point, Nami split the paper up 9 ways. Everyone might have a small piece.
God I hate this chapter. So. Freaking. Sad.
-
Nah, I think they will all be on their own. However Oda will focus more on Luffy. Slowly, a few will reunite… maybe Luffy will see Usopp getting attacked or something.
-
well they split up as they were goign to just not the way they had wanted or imagined.
if they split up i think it'd be Zoro and Luffy
Luffys in a bad way and he needs his first mate and captain interaction
sanji brookes and franky just the 3 comedy men
ussop nami chopper and robin the last group
but thats if kuma split them up
i think kuma told silver where hes moved them to or that they will be back in 3 days thats why silver was liek can i trust you
-
on page 11 it looks like Kuma kneel down (respect) to dark lord hades ahahha remember i said looks like, but yeah probably just to tall to whisper to the old man
-
If they're going to split up, which I would very much like to see because it would be an interesting thing to do, it would be best if there were 3 groups lol.
Since Zoro, Robin and Nami got the vivre cards that supposedely leads them back to their ship(if Rayleigh's there of course), I think these three might just be in different groups.
It's either…
1. Luffy, Robin, Chopper
2. Zoro, Brook, Usopp
3. Sanji, Franky, Namior
1. Luffy, Brook, Nami
2. Zoro, Franky, Chopper
3. Sanji, Robin, UsoppSpeculation at it's finest.
-
Oda, you just won. Amazing chapter. For me the most just outragously well done part for me was when luffy jet pistol'd kuma and he deflected it.
-
The thing that bothers me the most in this chapter seems to be Kuma's line about "we will never see each other again" . Did he say that to fool Kizaru into believing he send Luffy to his death.. Or?
And like the everyone here, i'm so curious to where they'll end up and how will everyone get seperated. How will they get to Sunny? So many questions..
Oda, don't take a break now xD I NEED to know what'll happen next. -
Posting this from the Spoiler thread so the people I was quoting could reply if that thread gets closed:

Even dedicating at least one chapter per mugiwara would take more than two month, which is too much for me. I' m still hoping they' re starting to run into each other in 515.
If anyone reads Mahou Sensei Negima, this kind of reminds me of the whole scattering and everyone has to meet back up thing that has taken place during the current arc. Where they had their white badges, the Mugiwara's have Rayleigh's biblicard/vivricard/whatevricard.
Yo! ThunderEarthFireWindWaterHeart: Captain Planet!! Here: [hide]@ThunderEarthFire:
Notice the relevent parts are in BOLD and are Italicized.
Not sure what your relevant parts were, as when you quote someone the whole post is in italics. That said, I really did not get much out of your post.
@ThunderEarthFire:The first thing I want to say is this you obviously aren't "pretty care-free" if you feel like making these long arguments to prove your point.
I assume you understand what a debate or argument consists of? How can I debate or argue about something interesting if I do not take the opponents replies and then form my own rebuttal? How is my rebuttal "proving my point"? Isn't it more like my arguement is my point? I am afraid the bold* section is a failure on your part to understand what I said in the first place: I am a pretty care-free kinda guy that just likes to debate and argue when I see some sense here and there. Look, after all of this, my sarcasm is still just plain sarcasm for the sake of it ~~ I mean no insult or flame or whatever. I am just replaying to what you said, with the occasional sarcastic quip or incredulous comment. Sorry if anything I say sounds mean or rude, I am just "defending" my stance here and responding to yours.
@ThunderEarthFire:The second thing I want to say is that you shouldn't believe everything you think, it's sort of a conflict of interest, cause it doesn't make sense just because you think it makes sense. Logic needs to stand on its own, and yours doesn't stand. One last thing, you should care what others argue otherwise there is no point in having an argument or a debate.
You understand that I took everything Miracles said and formed a valid rebuttal do you not? He said Sentoumaru worked for the World Government, and I corrected him. He claimed Kuma can teleport as fact stated in the Manga, so I corrected him. He claimed only Kuma and Vegapunk know his (Kuma's) abilities, so I corrected him. He claimed everything said in the Manga by someone is fact, so I showed him where he became a hypocrite due to it. Yes, his argument was in a roundabout way regarding "where they end up" ~~ but even Hinscher kept saying "we agree, right?" only to find Miracles shoving something new in his face. So they hardly had much of an argument, and mine was an entirely different one that was based off other points. Ok, now I shouldn't believe what I think? I made a theory, and I asked questions. The only thing I stated as fact and not possibility was that Sentoumaru worked for the Marines as Vegapunks Captain. Let me correct myself in that though, Sentoumaru works for the Marines as the Captain of the Science Patrol, and is Vegapunks' Bodyguard. The rest of what you said is just a bunch of words. You claim my logic doesn't stand on its own? You claim I shouldn't believe what I think? Moreso because what I think doesn't make sense!? You give me nothing that shows me where anything I said does not follow logic, make sense, or give me reason not to trust my own thoughts. I will touch more on this in the next paragraph. Less personal philosophy, more debate.
First off Sentoumaru is a Marine Captain and Dr. Vegapunks Bodygard - he serves below Vegapunk not above him.
I said he was a Captain, and I never claimed he was above Vegapunk. I said that Sentoumaru was Vegapunks Captain, which I suppose is an assumption, but a valid one all the same. I cleared up my mistake up above by rephrasing that he is a Captain of the Science Division, and Vegapunks bodyguard ~~ but I assume he works below Vegapunk in the same department as a Captain ~~ so I assume that falls indirectly under the category of Vegapunks' Captain. (Not superior Captain, but rather "a Captain under Vegapunk" in a possessive sense).
@ThunderEarthFire:Since Sentoumaru is just there to assist him there is no reason why he would know the specifics of everything that goes on - that's just your assumpion and it's a really bad one.
How is it my assumption, and a bad one, that a Captain of the Science division and personal bodyguard to the Head of the Science division, who is in charge of and orders the Pacifista, knows nothing about the original abilities of the man that was experimented on and seemingly cloned to create said Pacifista? Furthermore, how in APForums' name* does that not follow simple logic? And why should I not believe my own thoughts on this!??
[Marine Science Division]
Boss: Vegapunk (knows everything)
Captain/Bodyguard: Sentoumaru (knows absolutely nothing)OR
[Marine Science Division]
Boss: Vegapunk (knows everything)
Captain/Bodyguard: Sentoumaru (seemingly knows alot)Which makes more sense given what we know, logically? So far you want me to believe the top one. And say it is bad assumption that the bottom one is true ~~ and that I cannot think, do not understand English, do not understand logic, and am not care-free because I believe what I think about this. Ouch. That hurts my feelings you know?
- substitute curse/phrase
@ThunderEarthFire:
Bodygards don't nesscessarly know everything the people they protect know. That's especially true if we are talking about other peoples secrets - which we are. Those tend to be confidential things.
First off, you yourself are saying that sometimes Bodyguards might know, by saying "necessarily". (Which is what I was assuming, that he might know). Second, in this case where the bodyguard happens to also be the Captain of the same division it holds more weight. Third, if he doesn't know simple things such as the abilities of a tested and famous pirate that was given the title "Shichibukai" and works faithfully with the World Government, then he sucks at his job as a Bodyguard/Science Captain.
With regards to all this puni'd talk - no. In English Sentomaru is stating that the puni'd part is also a part of the rumor. He has no idea what happens either or even if the rumor is true - that's why he states it all as a rumor and not as fact.
I never claimed he said anything as fact, I merely mentioned the possibility that if the translation was right, it might be read that way. I cannot think of a very good parallel, but bear with me on this: A Baseball player hits a ball over the stadium every time he swings, but no one can ever find the ball afterwards. Someone asks, "Where does the ball go!?". Someone with a seemingly large amount of knowledge regarding baseball or physics answers, "I hear when he hits the ball with his bat the ball seeks out baby kittens to destroy them with vicious fires of death." Now tell me, is it a rumor that this Baseball player "hits the ball with a bat", or that the ball seeks out and destroys kittens?? In English please. Also, tell me where Sentoumaru states that Kuma's puni attack is a rumor as well. And for that matter, also try to fit in where I do not understand logic, where I make no sense, and why I shouldn't believe my own thoughts.
In closing, I apologize if you are offended by my sarcasm. I am just being my playful self, and I mean no harm. I just like debating about stuff like this ~~ even if it is futile and meaningless, it is the only reason I even bother coming on these forums.
END.
PS: That was fun =)[/hide][/hide] - substitute curse/phrase

! I saw a similarity to Negima too…but somehow I just see the way Akamatsu did it and the way Oda may do it (if it's not "they return three days later and the ship is coated") as different. (trust me, I gave up on Negima cause of the way he handled that and a bunch of other things around that point) Akamatsu screwed it up by sending some of the characters exactly to the places they needed to be to get stronger (see Yue and Nodoka) and sent others that could have more story potential and training of survival or interaction on their own to slavery or servitude (why couldn't at least one of the sports girls get a lucky break...and why couldn't Sakurako be there too...OK, wipe the last part cause that's my personal bias). Luckily with all the SH able to handle the world in their own ways, that won't happen and we'll get something fun and entertaining.
-
I shat bricks after reading it.
I love that udderly defeated part.
-
Wow, I certainly never saw that coming.. I knew the situation was desperate, but I was certain that the SH would get away somehow.. Though just not in THAT way… Wow... Just wow.. It's chapters like this that prove that One Piece deserves it's position as one of the most popular manga of all time in Japan.
I have to wonder... Where did Kuma send them..? I don't think he's sent anyone to Impel Down, though if he did that's a rather unique way to get them to help Ace out, but where could they have gone? Part of me has to wonder if they've been sent back to their original isles.. =/ -
I'm absolutly speachless, i mean so much feelings in 18 pages.
Oda is really one of the bests mangaka in history.
Can't say anything, i'm going to read it again. -
Jesus! The spoiler translations did nothing to bring out the emotions like the scans do…oh man....oh man...I am just like most of the members...in shock and awe.
Oda really did it this time. Seeing how EACH crew member broke down just like Luffy, especially Sanji...crying...on the ground...not understand what the fuck is happening...grabbing there hair tight...going crazy....pure emotion....the perfect ingrediant to true power and strength...
The suspense of the next chapter is killing me! I haven't had this much suspense since the ending chapters of Luffy vs Lucci....Oda has done it again!
The thing that keeps my hopes up is the whispering between Kuma and Rayleigh...both Sent and Kizaru had no idea wtf Kuma was doing....Rayleigh wanted to really really help the SH out but he had his hands full with Kizaru.
I was suprised to see Luffy use Gear 2 and get his Jet Pistol utterly deflected by Kuma, Sajni tossed about, Chopper gone in a flash, Robin and Nami begging for help while Luffy is extending his arm out...able to do nothing but watch....Brooke not even getting to finish his "Death Jokes" man it was friggin emotional....I had my mouth open from Page 1.
THANK YOU ODA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD FUCKING WORK MAN THIS SHIT IS LIKE CRACK....MAD ADDICTING AND YA CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH BEFORE U DIE! LMAO.
-
Eh, I posted this on MangaHelpers originally, but I thought I might as well have my thoughts up here too. I put it in spoiler tags though, because it's a HUMONGOUS post. I didn't think it would be that long…
! What an emotional chapter! This whole fight has been a rising crescendo of emotion as you see the Straw Hats become more and more desperate and more and more aware that they're out of their league, but this… This packs the kind of emotional punch that comes with the greatest scenes in One Piece, such as the death of Merry, Nami's plea for help from Luffy in the Arlong Arc, Robin's "I wanna live!", the end of the Alabasta arc, etc. This chapter can go up there with those scenes.
! But the ending of the chapter is incredibly open-ended. Oda could do anything now. Seriously, the story could go basically anywhere. I can make some logical predictions as to what will happen, based on logic and what direction I think the general story is moving in, but there's nothing in the chapter that hints to what is to come next week, or even in the long run. But like I said, I can make some logical predictions, and they are that Kuma didn't send the Straw Hats to Impel Down or anywhere like that. If he wanted them taken out, he would have let the PX-1 kill Usopp. But he didn't, because he doesn't want the Straw Hats dead, he wanted them to get away safely. I would say probably due to his respect for Zoro and his loyalty, or possibly because he knows Dragon and has some sort of debt to him, which he thinks he's paid by rescuing Luffy, but either way, Kuma came to give the Straw Hats a fighting chance. This is also bolstered by the fact that Rayleigh seemed resigned to what Kuma was doing. He certainly came to help the Straw Hats, and he didn't react at all to what Kuma did, leading me to think that Kuma told Rayleigh what he was doing and where the Straw Hats were going, and Rayleigh let it go because Kuma seemed like he was trying to help, and was the only chance the Straw Hats had. Kuma also refused a direct order from a Marine Admiral to explain what he had done. While he was allowed to do this, as he said (which gives us another piece of the nature of the Shichibukai's relationship with the World Government, by the way), it seems out of character for the usually obedient Kuma to invoke such a law to avoid giving a Marine information, especially if he was capturing the Straw Hats. All this makes it seem likely that Kuma has not sent the Straw Hats to Impel Down, or Marine Headquarters, or somewhere like that, but rather, to somewhere where they'll be safe from Kizaru and Sentomaru and can regroup.
! The question being: where? And are they together? I have no idea. It can't be too far away from the Sabaody Archipelago, because they need to get Sunny back (Oda won't make them give up Sunny. Franky wouldn't stand for it, they just lost a ship, and Sunny carries the spirit of Merry. Sunny's going to Raftel with the Straw Hats.) So they need to be within traveling distance of the Sabaody Archipelago, and since they don't all have Log Poses and some of them have abysmal navigational skills (I'm looking at you, Zoro and Luffy), so it has to be close enough to the Sabaody Archipelago that they wouldn't need to do any serious, Log Pose-requiring sailing, especially not alone. This makes me think that they MAY have been sent to: Fishman Island. It's close to the Sabaody Archipelago, close enough that they can just resurface, get Sunny, and cross the Red Line without much traveling. It also saves Oda from having to keep showing the Marine raid on the Sabaody Islands and lets him get to Fishman Island, finally. (Not that I don't love the Sabaody Arc, because I do, I really do, but this would be a very clever shortcut on Oda's part). And finally, Zoro was asked where he wanted to go. Zoro has a very good ability to figure out exactly what needs to be done. It was Zoro who first pinpointed the crux of the situation with Robin in the Water 7 Arc: had she betrayed the Straw Hats or not? It was Zoro who was able to see how the matter of Usopp rejoining the crew needed to be dealt with. It was Zoro who was prepared for the trap Baroque Works laid for the Straw Hats. It was Zoro who recognized that defeating Crocodile had to be left to Luffy, while stopping the Army and the Rebels from killing each other was the role for Vivi. This list goes on, these are just a few examples, but I think they prove my point: Zoro has the ability to assess a situation, recognize what needs to be done, and follow through and do it. I think he may have been able to assess the situation the Straw Hats were in when Kuma asked him where he most wanted to go, and realize where the Straw Hats would be safest at the moment: Fishman Island. They've got connections, through Caimie and Hatchan and Pappug, it's their destination anyway, and it's more or less out of the jurisdiction of the Marines. Zoro may have decided to go there, meaning that he, at least, is (hopefully) safe on Fishman Island.
! However, that begs the question of whether the Straw Hats were all sent to the same location. Kuma may have let Zoro choose for the crew, continuing his theme of testing to see if Zoro, as (de-facto) first mate, is ready to bear the burden of captaincy, including choosing the crew's destination. The test would be for Zoro to choose somewhere that would work out for the crew, in which case, Kuma probably sent them all to the same place, since the idea would be for them to make the best of Zoro's choice. Support for this is that he didn't ask the other Straw Hats where they wanted to go, so he might still have been sending them to the location initially chosen by Zoro, but that could very well be me reading things to suit my theory. It might also be that Kuma separated the Straw Hats, and there will now be an arc about how they all find each other again (reminiscent of the "crests" arc of Digimon, where after the Digi-destined split up to look for Tai, there was a whole arc in which they were slowly re-united and they learned how to make their crests light up.) But that would take a HUGE amount of time, since the Straw Hats would all probably need to go through a few mini-arcs until they all managed to re-unite, and only THEN could they go back to the Sabaody Islands, pick up Sunny, and go to Fishman Island. That would take an INCREDIBLY long time (possibly a year's worth of chapters), so I think it's unlikely that the Straw Hats were scattered across the One Piece world. I think at worst, they're scattered across Fishman Island, and they'll have to meet up with each other, but they'll be on the same island. They might even be scattered across different groves of the Sabaody Archipelago, but I don't think that would help keep them safe from the Marine raid, and it seems too easy a solution to be worth Kuma's time.
! This chapter also helped reinforce the message that the Straw Hats are FAR from one of the most powerful crews on the Grand Line. They're pretty impressive for rookies. I'd say that by New World standards, they're about average. But they have a LONG way to go before they're powerful enough to conquer the Grand Line. I think everyone, the fans, the characters, even the Straw hats themselves have been a bit overconfident in the Straw Hats' strength ever since the Enies Lobby Incident. Well, their bubble of hubris has been well and truly burst. Like the chapter said, they were utterly defeated. The Straw Hats need to get much stronger, to get much more comfortable with their existing techniques, and to develop new techniques and strategies, if they want to make it in the New World. If you notice, Luffy's line on the second to last page of this chapter, "I couldn't protect a single crew-mate", seems parallel to Luffy's speech about why he created Gear 2nd. He developed Gear 2nd so he could protect his crew, but it's still not enough. Luffy needs to become more proficient in the usage of Gear, he needs to get stronger, if he wants to protect his crew in the New World. All of the Straw Hats do. Hopefully, whatever they have to do to re-unite (if that's necessary) and get back to Sunny (which IS necessary), helps them realize that they need to have a realistic assesment of their own strength and helps them start to get stronger.
! Luffy also needs to learn to keep his calm a bit better. He's been slowly growing better at making responsible decisions as a captain throughout the series, but he can still snap and go completely wild, which makes it a bit easier for him to be defeated, which leaves his crew without his protection. Hopefully, as well as getting stronger, Luffy will also improve his ability to deal with stressful situations in a calm, commanding, captain-like manner, which is also a huge skill that he'll need to master if he wants to be a major player in the New World.
! And finally, I'm curious about Kuma's parting words to Luffy. "We will not be seeing one another again…" Does Kuma think that the Straw Hats won't be able to survive wherever he's sending them to? Does he think he's paid off any debt he may possibly have, and therefore won't be coming to bail the Straw Hats out again? (It was this line that led me to theorize that Kuma saved the Straw Hats to pay some sort of debt to Dragon.) Does he think that the Straw Hats will survive, but won't manage to get back together and once again become a pirate crew worthy of the notice of a Shichibukai? And if it's any one of these reasons, WHY? I don't know, but I'm sure that Kuma's reasons for coming to the Straw Hats now, and therefore, his reasons for thinking that he and Luffy won't see each other again, will be revealed later in the story, perhaps when we find out more about Kuma, or we see what ends up becoming of the Straw Hats. It's something to ponder for now. -
It was definately very emotional. Oda brought out the desperation of the Strawhats perfectly - they don't know where their friends are vanishing, they are fighting a battle they cannot win and they are in dire panic.
I wonder if we're gonna see a few chapters of something else now - maybe Whitebeard vs. The Shichibukai or something? and then return to wherever Strawhats are.
-
The thing that bothers me the most in this chapter seems to be Kuma's line about "we will never see each other again" . Did he say that to fool Kizaru into believing he send Luffy to his death.. Or?

Oda, don't take a break now xD I NEED to know what'll happen next.Luffy may not see kuma again doesn't mean any other crew members or us won't see kuma again
Oda won't take a break hes going to move to kid and law

Let's see, this chapter is the eleventh so…perfect ending for volume 52.
I think the next chapter should focus mainly on Kid and Law's situation (cause it's been two months since we last heard of them, and I want to know how their fight turned out), and end with Luffy waking up wherever he was sent.

Man oh man, I cried a little.
Kuma surely can send them where ever he wants, other wise PX-1 would just kill them when they all land in their destinations. But why why why? Someones theory about Kuma repenting might be true. Joins the Shichibukai to do some good, realises the Marines can be just as bad as typical pirates, and knows some thing is about to go down, and wants to be against it.
Sanji pulling his hair was the best scene along with Luffy saying "what is wrong with me!!??" For those 2 characters who have more or less owned everyone and everything around them for such a long time to be feeling this way is a real treat to see.
And though Brook just joined, he showed us that he already feels strongly for them.
This makes me wonder, if Kuma is not quite against the Straw Hats, I wonder would they ever fight him? I would love to see how they figure out how to counter is abilities.
Also one more thing, according to the last page, the crew is scattered, can't wait to see how the fend for themselves. Especialy Chopper, and Usopp.

This chapter actually made me cry :cwy: Poor Luffy! Seeing him just watch all of his dearest friends disappear right before his eyes…

Alot of these posts should be moved/copied or posted inside the thread that Yonkou#3 made here.

Wow, this was….I don't even know the words to describe..
I never felt this way about One Piece before, even when Merry was burned, I didn't feel the way some fans felt, how they felt the emotion....but with this chapter, I can say I actually feel pretty sad/bad for the SH's, and especially Luffy, the whole crew is gone, and at the end of the chapter it actually says they we're scattered, why is Kuma being a bitch for, did he actually save them, or did he really come to do them dirty?????
I can't freaking wait till next week, I wanna know what happen NOW!
P.S. Please no Impel Down predictions......if they went to Impel Down they would all go, becuase their all wanted, and it wouldn't say they we're scattered!

just re read the chapter this shit is fucking amazing ZOMG Oda you are a good amongst men

I can't really get emotional about a chapter like this.
I know no one is going to die, and that kind of kills any real suspense in this.
Interesting to see which direction this goes in. We have hadn't the Strawhats really seperated before in their adventure like this.
And we know from what Kuma told rayleigh and his reaction, that where he "sent" them isn't too bad a place.

Wow. This has definitely been the most powerful chapter to date IMO.
The struggle was so intense throughout the entire chapter. I really liked that Luffy was indeed trying to save them, and that he even went into Gear Second. side note: just in case the debate was still on the table, we see the deflection of luffy's arm when he attempts his JET pistol and it is deflected, so it is not an "air" move
I'm hoping the next chapter will give us the conclusion or stalemate most likely between Rayleigh and Kizaru. And then move onto either comments about the war, or how both sides (WG and WB) are preparing for the confrontation.
I'm also hoping that we get at least two chapters without the SH to keep the suspense going. Considering Kuma made those whisperings to Rayleigh, I can't help but think he's trying to help them in some form or fashion. I'm even being seduced by the "Kuma works as a double-agent for Dragon" theory.
I probably can't find the post, but I made a post a long time ago about the SHs needing to experience a grusome defeat, but I was expecting it when they got to the other half of the grand line (the New World). This will surely build the crew as a whole, and individually whenever they finally get back together. We'll have a re-newed and stronger SH crew. At least, that's my hope for now.
Baseless Assumptions:
- Kuma told Rayleigh that he'd blast away all the SHs so the WG/MHQ would think the entire crew was defeated and this would lift some of the pressure off of this crew for a short while. Kuma recognized the crew is a good crew, and figured they'd be capable of making it back to mangrooves.
- Kuma told Rayleigh that he'd blast them to Dragon.
- Kuma told Rayleigh that he'd blast them to a near-by island, and they should make it back in a couple days.
- Kuma told Rayleigh that he'd blast them to some island and go get them after the Admiral left the mangrooves. And his comment about "never seeing each other again" was part of the act.
More baselss assumptions to come as they roll off my confused mind :)
