So all that for… some cameos in a few games, a port of Sonic the Fighters in another game, the umpteeth port for the classic games (least they added 3 and Knuckles this time, I don't know why it took them so long), add on for a mobile game, a Kart mobile game, an HD port, a long overdue cartoon short for said port, news on the new show which amounted to "Yep still working it on, no footage yet though, sorry" (Seriously not even concept art?), some admittedly nice looking merchandise And a teaser.
They do know when you do directs like that, fans kinda want something a little more then just announcements, right? Didn't even comment on the status of the move sequel.
EDIT: From what Twitter tells me, Sega isn't handling Sonic Colors Ultimate, that's another company. Interesting. Also on the matter of the Sonic Origins port, I hope these are the Christan Whitehead ones and not just direct roms. I heard Whitehead's version of Sonic CD is the definitive one.

Regarding Sonic Origins, I strongly suspect Whitehead's involvement considering the SEGA social media manager confirmed the wide-screen aspect ratio on Sonic 3 which is great news.

This is the coolest Knuckles has ever been. Finally Knuckles fans have something to look forward to in their miserable lives, whoever they are.
I like to think Knuckles fans are content and in a much better headspace than say Freedom Fighter/Comic Book fans who will be stuck with the knowledge those characters will be stuck in the comic book never seen elsewhere.

I mean, if you didn't much care for the first one, I doubt there was ever a chance of this one doing it for you.
Currently it's at 56% on RT, but the first one only reached 63%.

Yes but its just a compilation of the old 2D games… which have been thrown together in a dozen other commpilations.
Has new animations so thats neat.

Saw some Twitter footage.
- Eggman is in the game somehow, having warped to whatever cyber dimension Sage put him in. You come across one of his ships at one point.
- Sonic meets up with a digital Amy at some point. She can talk with him but can't really interact with him. Likely, Sonic has to find her fragments to get her fully whole.
- Oddly, despite Sage being against Sonic, At one point she's urging him on to find more keys and "connect the dimensions."
- Radical Highway is one of the cyber stages.
- Big is in the game as well. For what purpose, hasn't been revealed yet.

@Nobodyman I'm not a Sonic fan by any means, but this sort of upgrade in this style is what I always imagined would be successful for these guys (a la new super mario bros)
The only other thing imo is evolving from the original ring mechanic
When I saw Pizza Tower I was instantly thinking that Sonic could be like that if the theme was about going fast. It always felt kinda silly when the player lost momentum because they hit a wall they couldn't see, or they stopped to focus on platforming, or took damage that forced them to stop and prioritize salvaging a ring or two for protection... so they can go fast again. -
love that the character has completed the transformation from robotnik to full on-eggman.

Apparently the new Sonic game, sonic x shadow generations, is really good, IGN even gave it a 9 out of 10
