Both things can be true the show’s low scores can be because it has legitimate flaws or can also have those same low scores because of people who know nothing else in life but to be petty self absorbed assholes.

As I said before someone on the dev. team likely didn’t like the ending of 6 or is simply a Kiryu fan as otherwise I can’t really figure out the decision to being Kiryu back. Anything and Everything they could’ve did with his character has been done to various degrees of success.

Finding Romance? Did that with 2 and fucked it up with 3.

Covering his early days in the Tojo? Covered that in 0.

His history with Majima? Covered that in 0 too and didn’t have them officially meet each other til the end credits

His non Yakuza life?….covered in 3,4,5, & 6.

Literally the only thing they can do with Kiryu at this point even though it’s technically not necessary is resolve the plot line from 6 with him being dead. Otherwise there’s literally nothing else to do with his character. Especially as 7 pretty much ends his obligation to the Tojo Clan with it’s plot twist after that literally being a crutch for most of the games he was the protagonist of.

Like I said elsewhere I’m cool with this so long as

A. This is the definitely last the mainline game featuring Kiryu narratively or gameplay wise.

B. Doesn’t turn into a Gyakuten Saiban thing.

It is $$$, lol.

I remember one of the key criticism of Mass Effect 3’s ending was feeling like all the choices you made in the lead up including those from the previous game didn’t matter.

Call me crazy but I’m pretty sure I believe Undetaker (views nothwithstanding) more than the carny piece of shit.

Vince seems to casually forget likely due to having CTE himself that Undertaker by this point had already been beaten by Lesnar specifically at No Mercy 2002 but like Smackdown winning that one match at Survivor Series where Raw won almost every match on the card let’s forget all about that.

And the way they were building up Lesnar by this point there was no way they were going to have Taker just go over him like that. Not unless you wanted a repeat of Lesnar-Cena from Extreme Rules or Taker beating Bray the following year and then him and Kane beating the Wyatts at Survivor Series.

But as it was that match should’ve never happened anyway.
