"old crew" what? How do we know he (if he ever had one) doesn't still have the crew he was with before he became a warlord?
Anything can happen. Jinbei don't have his old crew anymore (at least not all of it), and Kuma strickes me as a loner.

Kuma wouldn't get rid of his old crew, because he still profits from their plunders, like Doflamingo did with Bellamy's crew.
And Mihawk looks like more of a loner than Kuma, IMO.
hard to say. I was just wondering, for me Kuma doesn't count really as a bad guy (see 484) but I think he became the nickname "the tyrant" for a special reason. Maybe today he isn't a tyrant, but he gained the name for a special violent action form the past, like murdering his whole crew after/before joining the shichibukai. Damnit, can't wait for the new chapter, in the moment the whole Kuma-thing doesn't make sense for me.
Sorry for my bad english, I'm still learning.
I don't see why you don't count him as a bad guy, especially given the example chapter you chose, where he was at his evil-est.
As to why he's a "Tyrant", maybe it's just because his power seems almost unbeatable, also given his physical power as well (Sanji damaging his leg just hitting his face)
cough
Both Enel and Foxy kinda break that rule.besides we don't even know what will happen in the Kuma fight. He might not even be defeated at this point.
ehhm against both villains luffy hasn`t really a development like i said….also wapol was a weak villain after arlong and the bq-agents.....but for a shichibukai and a admiral it woulod be unlikly if thesy were later in the story nop real match for luffy
What if Aokiji has to tagteam Luffy with the yellow monkey because Luffy figured out his weakness?
What if Luffy never fights Aokiji ever again?
What if - etc.
Nothing is obvious, judge them on what you have seen. Not what you think you can deduce from some supposed rules that keep getting broken.
Do you just like to be pain in the ass?

QFT, I agree with you Gorlom.
@AD-HD:
Do you just like to be pain in the ass?
I admitt I was nitpicking on your "old crew" post. But that was because I thought you were trying to revive the old rumor about shichibukai haveing to leave their crews when they get the title.
Now that I know you are not I'm not going to say another word about it.
I don't really think it is that far fetched to think Kuma may lose. Oda has said we're about halfway through One Piece, and 2 Shichibukai have fallen. To make it almost half have been beaten, and having 4 left at the halfway point isn't that ridiculous. Plus we've got the Yonkou, and then the Admirals on top of that. There are still plenty of enemies for them to fight.

Its not like the Straw Hats need to defeat every freaky guy on Grand Line, that has a way too tournament feel to it, no harm done if a few bad guys stay unbeaten.
I agree, theres no need for the Straw Hats to fight every Shichibukai in the Grand Line and then move on to the Yonkou in the "New World".
I hate it when threads are merged, but since mine is the first post I won't complain. Ha ha ha!
Now…
INTRODUCING A BRAND NEW COOL THEORY ABOUT HOW KUMA WILL BE DEFEATED/THE STRAWHATS WILL BE SAVED:
Brook will save the day!
Notice how he's kind of been missing recently? And notice how he hasn't done anything remarkable to "earn" his place in the crew? And notice how it would be awesome if he pulled something out of his bony ass to save the day?
We know that Brook is super fast, and if you look here:
^ Brook is missing. There is hope!
(Of course, what I'm really hoping is that he will sneak up behind Kuma and take his hat, revealing that Kuma is actually bald.)
Oh, and while I'm on a roll, why don't I put this one out as well: What if Kuma has Samson-like powers, where his strength grows with his hair? If you remember that Bible story, Samson had incredible strength, and it was because he made a deal with God that he wouldn't cut his hair. Later he got pressured by his wife into telling the secret of his strength, and she cut his hair.
I think this would be particularly hilarious, especially if it was combined with his balding! Bald on top, but long hair otherwise. :D
EDIT: Oh wait, what if Brook came up from behind and cut Kuma's hair, and that meant that Kuma lost his strength, like Samson? Brook is a sword-dude, and that would really top off my awesome new theory!
XD I love your theories so mcuh.
To the right of Lola's eye, you can see him in the center of the small panel.
Were you referring to that diamond-shaped human dude?
Sorry. :)
I think we've already seen him at some point this chapter, some one pointed out. But with his speed, I think he could get past Kuma's pads and get a clean hit on him, even though the Ursa Shock already went off.
But you know what would just be lovely? If they get to the ship and just fire a Cola-Charged Cannon right at Kuma.
I tell you guys, Brooke will use Luffy as a rubber suit to fight off Kuma.
That's why he is not there. He has more guts than any of them.
I've been thinking Brook will probably do somehting too, because he hasn't been around, like with the salt. I mean, since the strawhats helped him, he would want some big way to repay them, right?

Not THAT panel. At the bottom, next to Lola's wide-eye close-up. In the small panel, you can see Brooke in the center (he's the really tall one)
You can't really make out anyone in that picture besides Kuma.
You can't really make out anyone in that picture besides Kuma.
I totally agree. If you're talking about the squiggly lines in the middle, that's an EXTREMELY disproportionate Brook with several additional limbs, if it is Brook. But like Impel said, it's just a mess.
Besides that, just think about it, why would Oda not put Brook in a clearly visible way with the Strawhats or even Lola's crew in the closeups, but then suddenly put him in the middle of the panel there? It doesn't make any sense.
It's true that Brook can be found with the Strawhat's in other pages of the chapter, but not for the final thing, which leaves open the possibility that he escaped. The theory stands valid.
EDIT:
Like this:
Urian it basically sounds like you're pulling that our of you're ass.
Did you just call him an ass Moria?
It would be like a kick in the nuts for everyone who mocked the Kuma's balding theory.
Too bad it's too good to come true.
Wolfpox,Im gonna get you for that image.
Hahaha, that picture is awesome…..

when they dont fight each other than someone else will fight against(for example aokiji)and thisone will than be the new villain for luffy. or his villain becomes his friend in some way(so that they don
t fight…
in the end their must be clear that luffy deserves his pirateking titel...and for this he must be the strongest....and so oda cant let their 5 people who are amazing strong but never fought against luffy.. so all readers still think...mhhh but X could be the better PK cause luffy didn
t show that he is stronger than that amazing guy....

What is your point again? In either of theese cases its not clear that the person Luffy did not fight is stronger then someone else.

If Luffy beats Whitebeard (or if BB beats WB first and Luffy then beats BB) thats pretty much it. He just defeated the strongest man in the world and took his title.
Imo there is really no point in proveing his strenght against anyone else, because untill they prove their strenght against the strongest I will allways consider them to be weaker.
@VL7:
Luffy is trying to become Pirate King, not the winner of the Pirates World Tournament:getlost:
Quoted for ABSOLUTE truth
^What if Oda just makes Nami become the Pirate King, like Gore Verbinski did in Pirates of the Caribbean?
@Lobster:
^What if Oda just makes Nami become the Pirate King, like Gore Verbinski did in Pirates of the Caribbean?
I would actually love that, Lobster.
If someone can control a bunch of pirates spread around the world as their monarch, then that would be Nami. Only a fool would dare to oposse the Queen Nami and her taxes.
Luffy always has adventures to entertain himself, anyways.
Luffy's about to reach Raftel.
Usopp kills him at the last second and sets off bombs all over the ship, killing all other crew members, becoming the Pirate King.
And an era of darkness spreads across the world for hundreds of years.
What is your point again? In either of theese cases its not clear that the person Luffy did not fight is stronger then someone else.

But on his way to WB and BB he must kick some asses.or this manga would be pretty lame…just travelling and at the end he will fight the strongest
........my point is that the villain will be more powerful than any other villain before ,when luffy kicks his ass after a development of his fightingstyle\strenght whatever----
so oda shows us that he is ON HIS WAY to beat the strongest and why should luffy fight again BB and after that against kuma...so if we`re right BB is much more the stronger villain...and after beating BB it would be pretty lame if after this luffy will fight kuma ...
new villains must be a new task for the protagonist and often that is the reason why the next villain must be stronger ...
I dont want to rip your imagination of the storydevelopment or a character in the manga...but so far it was in any manga or also in any adventure-story i read that the latest villains were the more powerful... maybe kuma is stronger than an admiral but we will never know and our only chance to judge about a powerlevel is how luffy fights against each of that villain.... and cause of luffy
s development his later villains must also be stronger cause he needs a longer time to knock them out than before ,where he had a certain development..(in wapol,foxy-case luffy hadnt any development and they were anyway funnyarcvillains....so no real match for his way to be the PK):getlost: in that case i doesn
t say he has to fight anyone but the strongest he had to go for..................
So what do you call Bellamy, funnyarcvillian?
Look Don, I'm not argueing with that later oponent is stronger theory you have there (even though it needs some revision because of Enel).
I'm saying that the fight with Aokiji is not set in stone. Nor is really the outcome of the battle with Kuma. So even following the rule that an oponent Luffy faces later on will be stronger Aokiji is not "Obviously stronger" unless Luffy acctually faces and beat both of them one on one in the correct order.
Since we do not know for sure this is what will happen I do not belive you can compare them in that way.
iam fine with that gorlom….
but iam really interested in seeing which power kuma really can show us
i find it amazing to see how each villain is intresting in which abilitys he can show us ....at this time other big villains just kidding around with the first opponents and show later the real power they have when they see that they could lose:ninja:
which are the two types of a shichibukai…
why is mihawk a nemesis..i mean they had a draw as far as i can remember... and kuma won`t be the strongest....:wassat:
Hey so I was reading the 46 Volume scanlation by NULL and in the introductory pages with the character descriptions of Blackbeard, here is what it says:
Pillager of the Drum Kingdom, plans to rise to the top. Goal is to replace the TOP member of the Shichibukai!?
I thought that was kind of intriguing. I would imagine either the unknown schichibukai or Mihawak to be the strongest, but perhaps this was just a mistranslation? but if its not, does he have a grudge with one of them?
@Don:
which are the two types of a shichibukai…

Yeah, and Mihawk even partied with Shanks, you didn't see Luffy and Arlong boozin' it up, lmao. >__>; There's a big difference between 'rival' and 'nemesis'.
Just because they're rivals doesn't mean there isn't some friction between them. Mihawk still seems to do his duty as a Shichibukai, somewhat, in killing pirates when he went around destroying Krieg's crew. Sure, he did it because "he was bored", but he seemed to choose to take down a pirate crew at random.
Hmm…..so Kuma's fruit is probably a Paramecia. However, it's so different that it makes me doubt that a little. I know it can't be Zoan or Logia, but this one is really different fora Paramecia.
how so? what makes it so different from say mr 5? or perhaps foxy depending on how the power really works.
Hmm…..so Kuma's fruit is probably a Paramecia. However, it's so different that it makes me doubt that a little. I know it can't be Zoan or Logia, but this one is really different fora Paramecia.
How can it be diffrent from a Paramecia? You have body inhancement (the paws on his hands) which is enough to prove its Paramecia- is it not? He belongs in the group that doesn't chance 'form' like Foxy and Mr.5.
Mr. 5 himself was a bomb, he just didn't really use his own body that much. Against Ms. Monday Mr. 5 clotheslined her and exploded. Otherwise you've got the right idea.
Foxy and Mr. 5 are a good representation. With that, it solves it for me. I was thinking something else.
Well witht hat solved there is still one thing that bugs me about Tyrant-boy here. I don't know if this have been answered or discussed about already but…
Why does Kuma ask where would one like to go on vacation?
