Any chance anyone knows how long it took between GDRs "capture"/surrender to his execution?

Seems she is quite a strong woman if she can carry her child an extra 11months by will. I can not speculate about how much she can do by herself when she is 19months pregnant. But I would assume the rest of her village would help out if she was weak.

I must have missed that about GDR. When did we get the timespan between GDRs death and Aces birth?

I think the most logical person would be Crocus, being a doctor and all. But really, it's a very good question. Shanks is a good guess, since I think the evidence points to him knowing about the baby. Garp could also be considered a possibility.

smurfx why did anyone need to hide her? The act of carrying Ace for another 11 months was enough of a disguise to fool the marine as far as I understood Sengokus statement.

I guess i'm just hoping that some character in OP woul have enough depth to outright lie to both other characters and us the readers.

(this would also be a possiblity for Oda to solve any present or future plotholes, just say "the character lied" =P)

And if Sengoku is lying, why does Ace look so distressed at the end? I would expect shock or something if it were a lie.

Personally i dont think Ace needs to react to a lie like that. He's doomed anyway, why should he bother to object to something like that.

As someone else mentioned somewhere What reason does Ace have to hate gol D roger for being a bad parent? he was dead.

Garp! He is sad all the chapter, and in that page he remembers the moment when Roger asked him to look out for his son. Unless you disregard those two panels, it is true.

You assume that GDR asked Garp? That feels odd. For some reason the phrasing felt femenine to me.

Anyway: 5 months before his execution. I don't recall was GDR executed directly or was he held for a while before execution? Did he have enough time to acctually know that Rouge was pregnant and that it was his child?

Personaly it feels more likely Rouge asked Garp and that the image was just there because it was about GDR.

There's a simple solution, they're not brothers by blood. They're brothers in the same way that Nami and Nojiko are sisters.

I can't find the link now but just recently I saw someone link to where Ace was sitting in his cell taking to Garp and saying that He and Luffy had the blood of a global crimnal. (since if they are related to Garp they would also have the blood of a marine so it shouldn't matter unless it's their direct parent imo)

OFC there could be translation issues and hes saying "criminals" (plural) but somehow I don't think you would use such a phrasing that a small error makes a difference between sharing blood and haveing something in common about the profession of their parent(s).

I say Sengoku is plainly lying about Ace's family tree to motivate or rally the troops or whatever.

How the hell can Ace and Luffy share blood if GDR died before Ace was born and Rouge died as she gave birth tho him?

Obviously Sengoku is lying through his teeth about Ace being GDRs son. For what purpose? I don't know.

Has anyone made any predictions about Akainu's power based on his appearance yet? (I'm too lazy to read through the chapter thread and there doesnt seem to be any akainu or admiral thread on the first page)

[hide]I'm assuming I'm overthinking this but Aokiji's tie looks like an icecrystal to me and Kizaru's shades (and light pinstripes?) could be a reference to his powers. Would the flowers appearing on Akainu be a reference to his? [/hide]
