Seriously. Moria's facial expressions crack me up. He looks like such a sardonic, nonchalant asshole. Can't get over how brilliant his design is, Oda really outdid himself here.
It's like watching a classic Disney villain unfold in an excellent manga transition. His face on page 6 was quite remarkable, intimidating yet somehow whimsical. (Amusing that Moria could pull stuff like the aforementioned off so well…..without a damn chin.)
I find it interesting that the mugiwara's are falling in decending join order.
Badass chapter. Sanji getting some due.
I'm impressed by how Oda-Sensei is handling the facial expressions for both Moria and Brooke. I mean we have this sort of giant vampire leek and this skeleton with an afro. By their descriptions they have no basis for being awesome in the facial expression department, but I am constantly amazed by how expressive thay are, especially Brooke!! I mean he's a Skeleton for crying out loud!
This was a really great chapter. I absolutely love Moria, I knew from the beginning he would be bad-arse and Oda ain't keeping that away from us at all. Also, the ChoSan attack was awesome! 'nd I really hope nightmare Luffy'll show up next chapter. I'm dying to see him!
I love how Oda has left the original 3 members of Luffy's crew to fend off Odz; really cool!

Haha this is what I was thinking while reading this chapter. It's awesome how sadistic he is while maintaining his hilarity. I can't explain it that well, but he's just such a great villain. I kinda felt the Odz vs. Strawhats fight was dragging a little but Moria brought some life back into it.
I was wondering how Moria vs. Luffy could be a worthwhile fight after the Odz fight(cause while Moria great, Odz is a monster himself…), and this chapter answered it. What Moria can do is with his ability is seemingly limitless, he can OHKO you with scissors or even teleport. I'm looking forward to that fight, and Moria I think had finally shown us why he's more of a threat then Crocodile and Rob Lucci.
Meanwhile, while this chapter is suggesting that it's only Zoro, Nami, and Usopp left in the fight, I think there's a chance that one of the SHs could get back up again and rejoin the fight. Probably Brooke, since 1: he doesn't have a clear "KO'd face, and 2: did he directly take that kick, or did the stone around him absorb some of the damage? So, I'm just throwing that out there.
I'm pretty sure Odz just kicked the building and the debris was what hurt Brooke along with the fall. I know he didn't have the salt with him when he did that combination attack with Usopp and Nami so where is the bag now? That's the only shot they'll have at disabling Odz since they can't beat him head-on, especially since over half the crew is out of the fight. The three left will have to aim for the right shoulder and hurt Odz enough to get that salt bag into his mouth.
I agree that Brooke may yet get up.
I am, however, wishing that the remaining SH's defeat Odz before Luffy arrives. I mean, this fight has been going on for 6 chapters at least, I would like it to end, not to drag even more. Since I think chapter 479 will be a volume-ending chapter, I believe we will have:
478: Zoro, Nami and Usopp manage rip out Odz' arm. Maybe one of them will fall after that (I think Zoro)
479: Usopp & Nami manage to fool Odz and Moria using their tricks (Flash Dial, Mirages from ClimaTact) and Usopp manages to throw salt into Odz mouth. Odz falls, and the two are left to fight Moria. Luffy arrives, ending the volume.
I think Oda is just about the king of facial expressions. You could make an exceptionally awesome collage of Moria faces.

True, I would like Odz to be taken down by the crew so Luffy will deal solely with Moria. I just don't like the idea of Luffy taking both of them down.

I also like how he can give Brooke so many good expressions considering that all he has to work with is a skeleton head.

One Piece 477 by Franky House
Where is "Nightmare Luffy" == Zoro is next on the menu. What will happen to other 2.
@Kidany:

That just got me aching to see more of Brooke. Just imagine what his facial expressions were like when he actually had flesh.
Anyhow, yeah, more Brooke. That awesome combo he did just wasn't enough.
That's because half the shit that Oda draws isn't even in traditional manga style.
Just read the chapter.
Seems the progress is speeding up, but I just can't wait to see what Nightmare Luffy looks like…Probably the most ridiculous thing a human can possibly imagine.

Of course. One of the reasons I got into One piece.
Although it's pretty pathetic, to this day, I have trouble getting some series because of their ''traditional'' style.
The more I see garbage like Bleach the more I realize how much I love Oda's style.
Guys I like Bleach
No wai I liek Blech 2.
The more I see garbage like Bleach the more I realize how much I love Oda's style.
Hey man, WTF! I happen to like Bleach, as well as happening to love the traditional art style of manga and anime thank you very much!
But still its nice to see something different from the norm every once and awhile, and One piece is no exception.

Having relatively generic art is understandable at times, but Bleach takes it to the point of pure blandness. Sure, the art is good, but the style itself is just nonexistent.
My predictions for next chapter is that Odz arm will fall off. Chopper was talking about the problems with not feeling pain and stuff. What could end up happening is that Odz will eventually fall apart.
I also think that Odz cannot separate from his shadow in sunlight. He might have the same problems with the sun as those he de-shadows when he separates from doppleman. If he doesn't he is stronger. In my opinion, you need two strong fighters to defeat him. One fighting Doppleman, and the other fighting Moria, this should prevent Moria from switching back and forth as he pleases. Can't wait to see next chapter.
Speaking of Odz, I couldn't help but think of a certain ice mage from the Fairy Tail manga when I saw that bit about him wondering around the cold naked.
-If he can move his real body in shadow bat form, why hasn't he just snuck up on all the strawhats, stolen their shadows and ended the fight? Or, can he only maintain one "real" body at a time and therefore not multitask scissors attacks?
I'm guessing that he can't "clone" himself or his shadow – that he can only subdivide his shadow into parts that (if put together) would have roughly the same mass as the whole shadow. And I don't think he's got more than one pair of scissors, so the clones couldn't cut the shadows. However ... if his only pair of scissors casts a shadow, then maybe Doppelman can use it to remove shadows, too? Hmmm...
-Considering that Nami and Usopp are likely to be the only two strawhats left standing once odz lands a hit on zoro, do they run or fight?
Chopper:
"Even a monster like this was no match for the forces of nature …"
Dunno, but that sounds to me like Nami could play a key role in debilitating, if not destroying Odz, in time for Luffy to arrive and finish off Moria.
-Is robin the only strawhat that fights to kill or what? She's vicious.
She is indeed vicious when she gets serious! Natli summed it up perfectly – however, Robin isn't the only Mugiwara with a vicious streak ... can't you hear the groans and protestations of a dozen dead fishmen and a hundred dead Baroque Works agents?
… but Zoro is going to have to pull off atleast one super move before getting swatted next chapter
@The:
Gotta Love the "Death from abooove!"
I know that Daz was referring to Odz, but I think that's a good plan for Zoro too. Odz is expecting the puny humans to stay on the ground. They seem to get him best when they're not on the ground – when they launch themselves into the sky or climb up his body of attack from the roofs of nearby buildings. Unfortunately, with Sanji down, there won't be any opportunities for "Air Force" combos (nice one with Chopper, by the way) but if Zoro can get himself up to that arm, and either loosen the stitches or just inflict a lot of pain, it would open up the old wound so that Nami could "ice" it, or Usopp could "salt" it. (Putting salt in old wounds. hehehheh)
I'm also wondering how Moria switches between his shadow and his body. It seems almost as if he can switch a specific body part only to avoid damage. This will be another tricky fight for Luffy. Can't wait to see Nightmare Luffy show up.
Interesting! So a sort of temporary shadow prosthesis.
My guess is that Luffy will first fight him full of the 100 shadows but ultimately will be using his namaka's: Robin's is available, Sanji's and Zoro's probably will when Dogpen and (?) will arrive (-and be purified by Brook ?). Moria will be beaten by the whole crew reunited in one man :-)
Hey! I like that theory! It's the ultimate form of teamwork. :)
Sanji: She's a woman!
Moria: I noticed.
Ah, but he missed his cue: he didn't catch her in mid-air … so rude!
(I'm joking)

Good point, and the fact that Odz keeps stretching his body, despite not being rubber, can only hurt him in the long run. There's a good chance that Odz's right arm at least might give out under the right pressure.
Dunno about that. Moria's words seem to imply that no matter what you do to your shadow, your body will mimic it. If Odz can get rolled up into a ball and not crush his organs or some shit, it's doubtful he's just going to start falling apart.
It's not even close to far fetched in the realm of One Piece.
My theory is that Luffy will befriend Absalom because he's such a "Lion Faced Thing", and then, after Luffy+Absalom deal with Moria, we will get another craptastic fanservice scene of Nami's Happy Pay~~~~Punch!
But ignoring the risks of Absalom returning to have his ways with the unconscious Robin, there's a good chance that Nami's Cold Balls and Ussop's Fire shoots will play a major role in weakening Oddz's body for Zoro to slice it like Butter…
He's a zombie, he doesn't need to use his internal organs any more. The shadow is what is moving him. But if a body part no longer is truly connected by flesh and bone, the shadow might not consider it part of the body. If it could work that way, then Odz could pull off Buggy the Clown type moves.
Moria and his shadow power are strong, sure…But most of us know that he WILL have his ass kiced before this is all over.
Yeah, but Moria is not a zombie himself. If manipulating the shadow hurt the body, it'd mean Moria couldn't even use such an impressive ability on himself, which would make it really pointless since there aren't exactly giant zombies [that he can hid in] just layin' around everywhere.
the more that i think about it the more i think odz won't be purified just yet. what the hell is the point of luffy getting his shadow back if moria can just go ahead and steal it again and in turn knocking luffy out for the day? luffy will probably send odz flying into the ocean where he will remain until luffy forces moria to release all the shadows.

I'd go with Onigumo's take on this one. Maybe he can use it on his body, or maybe he uses it on other zombies bodies (since he might be able to do "shadow revolution" from a distance), but there's a chance that this stretching could at least leave Odz vulnerable with all those wounds in his arm. Zoro could at least conceivably do what Buggy tried to do to Luffy in his first fight–cut off a limb while stretching. The point isn't actually whether or not it would hurt Odz either since he apparently can't feel pain, but whether or not this will contribute to the severing on Odz's arm.
There is a 50/50 percent chance for either side being right on this issue though.
Ah~, so that's where he was going with this.
Hmmm, I'm a little torn really. Ultimately this is something I'd much MUCH rather read in a tank. This is something where reading from week to week simply can't stack up to sitting down and reading it in a single serving. Since this is the first time he's had a team gangbang a main villain like this I REALLY like how it's playing out, but given the length and Oda's vision here, I much prefer this style in tank format.
No use complaining. Not like I'm gonna wait 6 months just to go back to tanks.
Hmm, I was wondering, that if Luffy beats Moria, what is going to happen to him? Since he isn't doing any unlegal stuff against the WG, he can't be expelled.
There IS an apparent weakness to Moria's ability. While he CAN switch anytime he wants, he can't do anything to opponents who can hit both him AND his shadow replacement at the same time. In other words, unlike Logia-types who can just change into their elemental forms, Moria has to have his shadow at another safer location first before he makes the switch. So, if an opponent hits both him and his shadow, he will ultimately still take damage.
This is probably the reason why he will then need underlings; to ensure that there are no holes around him left uncovered. He probably felt the same way as us now when he first witness the extent of his power, that is, that of over-confidence in his ability to handle any situation. But when he faces an opponent who can do area-of-effect damage or is just quick enough to hit him/cut him before he switches, or if he doesn't have sufficient time to bring his shadow to another location to make a switch, then he isn't all that invincible anymore.
Which makes us wonder what sort of monster Kaidoh must have been.
Either way, I guess now we may be able to see the extent to which Luffy uses the extra shadows; not just to power up, but to gain a whole new extra ability that can hit both Moria and his shadow at the same time. It could even be that one of the shadow involves some sort of brilliant mind (which i doubt actually, but is still a possibility) and Luffy figures out how to take Moria out with that mind.
Just a conjecture.
Duh… Luffy stretches. Moria switch places with Doppelman, and Luffy uses double pistol to hit'em both. If Moria sends Doppelman away to teleport to safety, then Luffy just gets a few more seconds to beat up Moria, since Doppelman can' protect him during this period.
Luffy is everyone's worst nightmare. =D
Edit: And if speed is questionable, then I say: Gear 2nd and kick the fat @$$. I think Gear 2nd can surprise Moria a lot before he devise a strategy to counter it.
Wow, the fight just keeps getting crazier by every chapter. Some people have said that the whole Moria + Odz vs. Strawhats is getting prolonged as it is, but I think it's really gaining momentum all the time and we still have yet to see Nightmare Luffy or even Moria at a disadvantage.
This fight is one of the best fights ever. The entire crew verses Moria and Oz. I think that Zoro will take out Oz but Moria will then take him out. I love this arc. It may have gotten off to a slow start but it has given us one of the best fights in One Piece history.
And what if Moria creates a subtitute arm to Odz through the Shadow Revolution, when that arm falls out? I guess that can be work…
And the idea of Odz being defeated before Luffy's arrival makes sense. The dawn is about to finish in 30 minutes, and the Nightmare Luffy only last for 10 minutes. Even if Nightmare Luffy borrows shadows to Zoro or Sanji, there is still the limit time problem.
My theory is that Luffy already has zoro's and sanji's shadows. which might explain why he ran the wrong way when the pirates told him the directions.
also would help pick up the lose ends.such as finding the zombies that had them and defeating them. as for moria I'll just sit back and enjoy the fight.
Also much thanks all who provide chapters ,back to lurking
Holy shit, this chapter owned! Moria is fricken ruthless! He definitely deserves his bounty and his Shichibukai status.
And what if Moria creates a subtitute arm to Odz through the Shadow Revolution, when that arm falls out? I guess that can be work…
Keep Hellsing stuff in Hellsing.
More than likely, Odr will be taken down by Zo/Na:
1. Nami zaps Zoro's swords
2. Zoro does some new pound cannon move with his new acquisition, cuts off Odr's arm.
3. Nami uses cool ball on his swords
4. Zoro finishes with a Gyouko-Onigiri (Freezing Onigiri)
And that's game.
Then Nightmare Luffy comes and squares off with Moria, as it should be.
Moria is fricken ruthless! He definitely deserves his bounty and his Shichibukai status.
Agreed. It's nice to see villains who truly take no chances. I mean, giant undead bazooka's to unconcious women.
Odz fault was the classic "smack 'em down, but not checking that they stay smacked down" mistake. With Mr. Moria arriving, this wont happen again.
I like how Oda's been keeping Moria's potential under wraps. It makes sense since he's a user of others. I was afraid he would be another Krieg hiding behind his name and his wealth in numbers and even more afraid Oda would leave him that way and expect us to believe he was a Shichibukai. His new transference ability with the shadow is wicked and devastating to say the least. He's seems to be getting more and more dangerous each week.

Yeah, I kinda had the feeling that a guy with a 320 million+ bounty wasn't exactly a one-trick pony. Doflamingo and his (supposed) Suji Suji fruit will probably be a nasty opponent, too. And it would be too awesome to imagine the possibility of Kuma going into some kind of "RAGE MODE" and starts smashing the hell outta crap.
We're not dealing with small fry anymore. Once the Strawhats hit the new world, it's the point of no return until we get to Raftel and Davy Jones (I'm still sticking to this).
This thing with luffy has sanjis and zoros shadow is a cool theory. Imagine gum gum giant axe with Diable Jambe or gum gum jet gatling canon in asura mode. This would beat odz in a few seconds.
My theory is that Luffy already has zoro's and sanji's shadows. which might explain why he ran the wrong way when the pirates told him the directions.

But we don't know what happened to Jigoroh and Dogpen yet. They can still be active.
This chapter was cool as hell! But now robin is gonna be out for 3 days ( is that the right time?) But anyway i'm guessing Zoro is gonna chop off Oz's arm in the next chapter
I didn't see what happen to Robins shadow?I know it was cut to three pieces but what did moria do with it.
It wasn't cut to pieces. Moria just stashed it away somewhere.
