I'm not totally sure about the opening for this chapter. While it's cool to see Jango and Fullbody getting a scoop, it's also a little awkward. Why not spare the space and instead add a little extra to the flashback with Kuzan and Garp? Maybe someone explains it to Kuzan before he joined Garp. I don't know, I just feel like it's a small miss and opening on Wolf getting punched out to sea feels like a better chapter opening.
Now on to that. I don't think I've ever seen Wolf look that angry before. He usually looks pretty happy/stupid. Guy doesn't really look ko'd, so much as just annoyed and mad with a bump where Garp must've launched him with his fist. Looks like his head hits some solid seabed there, so I definitely can see him flipping over and getting himself out of the ocean next chapter. Not much to go on Vasco. Spitting some big fireballs, but otherwise just showing he doesn't give any cares about Garp's power. I guess Pizarro can feel the fire? He complains about it, but not sure if it's actual damage.
I'm not really gonna be bothered by not seeing how the ship got back out to sea. Guess this was the main reason we cut away earlier, just so Oda could skip ahead far enough to the ship already being out and ready to leave. It's cool to see Helmeppo, Prince, and Koby held out with Garp as the last line while everyone else got away.
I personally really enjoy the Shiryu scene and the plan to take advantage of Koby's naive kindness. I love his quick little smug laugh after getting counter-attacked. This should be a good early sign of what we can look forward to when the final battlefield has started between the BBs and the SHs. Happy to finally see Garp take some damage too. That's one more off the list... now onto waiting for Shanks and Dragon.
I guess Hibari recovering is a sign of how long they've been fighting? I guess they probably knew how to save her as fast and safe as possible, but it was still a chaotic scenario. I like Pizarro's powers in action here. I'm sure/hopefully there's still a lot more he can do, but this already doesn't feel too much like Pica's powers. Maybe it's just the shape of the limbs, but it feels different enough.
As far as what comes next, I'd like to see Moria and Perona appear (if not others) to throw an extra wrench in things. Perona turning the entire island negative, even if just for a moment, would be a hilarious image. Plus Koby deserves to feel like his earlier kindness helping Perona was rewarded after this screw up. I do expect them both to getaway though. Garp's a deadman walking though. The sacrifice setup is here and it's time to wrap it all up in a nice bow.
Sword/Garp has to face the consequences of attacking a Yonko. Otherwise there's no point in defining Sword as this "special faction" that gets to defy orders/protocol, but won't receive any help or acknowledgement if they need it. Have him go out in a blaze of glory to shut Pizarro up when the paper's all about Garp and barely any of them get any individual credit. Escaping or being captured for his own ransom (just swapping Koby for him) would both serve to make this whole scenario way too pointless. But hey, Oda does like to do pointless things from time to time (See lots of Wano).
