@onemoment:
Also, in voting…yeah we should have online voting. The problem is we apparently don't have the technology to make it safe, which I suspect is through a lack of action from Congress. If we actually tried we could have a better system by now. It's infuriating.
Yeah, I agree. It will make it easier and more people will vote as they don't have to go anywhere and just do it on their phone.
@maxterdexter:
And Data is power, specially in a country with 4+ time zones to act, without cheating just by knowing the data, you can impact the result on the west coast by the results on the rest of the country.
Interesting. I didn't think that would be make that kind of impact. I'm confused what you saying though. Can you explain more on what you mean? Please and thank you.
And that is not counting that internet access is not guaranteed in the more needed neighborhoods.
Besides, most electronic voting is an expensive pencil, that you can’t actually audit without software people.
Yeah. I was just thinking it should be just another option for people and not a replacement, as not everyone has internet.
@Dorobō:
He wants simpatico and it's pretty obvious he wants his VP to be well, his heir to run in 4 to 8 years.
So I say Harris has the best shot on both those things. He seems to like her a ton and right now she has been the one pushing a lot of bills that cover the whole Democratic Party's spectrum. That goes a long way with the party's bases.
Would be shocked if it's not her.
Honestly, I would love his Vice President Pick to be Elizabeth Warren. She worked with him on his campaign, so there's a bond there possibly. (I get campaign e-mails.) Plus, she's very progressive and similar to Bernie. I think she be honestly the best match, plus she has done a lot in Congress I believe.
@El-Matematico:
Vote can't be done online because the vote is secret. So information about voting, even if it's encrypted, can't be archived because it's data that breaks vote anonimity. Even worse, the process can't be audited. There is no way to verify whether a vote for Trump was done by someone who voted Trump unless, again, you break vote secrecy.
Oh, I didn't think about that. Though how are audits done now? I recall when I voted I just needed my voter card, but I guess those cannot be easily as stolen.
On the other side, bank accounts and personal information can be verified by the user itself. A person can detect irregular transactions from their bank account and the bank can look through data. If you are in the US and your credit card was used to buy stuff in Ukraine you and your bank will notice, and the transaction is registered in the bank data, so there's evidence of fraud. If you voted for Biden and your online vote says Trump, nobody will notice. And if someone noticed somehow, they can't ask people to declare who they voted for, and they can't ask for evidence.
Yeah, I get it now. Though it's an extremely sticky situation. I just felt it be great as an extra option and to get more people to vote, but I guess it can be really difficult to verify unless we make a system matching faces, plus your social security.
@Satsuki:
So Eric Trump decided to be an absolute douche and posted a video of Robin Williams making fun of Joe Biden, but Robin's daughter Zelda shot back hard with reminders of how her dad also roasted Trump:

That's so cool! The hypocrisy xD
And the point of any comedian is to make fun of everyone, no matter the political party.
Yes, indeed! Comedians don't pick and choose who to make fun of lol
@The:
Also, something Starla brought to my attention a while ago, but I haven't seen brought up here is trumpy (It's mine) vowing to cut ss if he is re elected. This has to kill his support with seniors, right?
Yeah, hopefully, but not really sure. Here's hoping! >< I don't wanna lose my disability and become homeless and nowhere to go. x.x
