So who's getting the game at launch?
While the Musou games are fun, I just don't feel like spending 70 bucks on this game. And after 2-3 months the price should drop anyway.

It takes longer than 2-3 months for the price to drop.. at least a year Id think.
I definitely getting it at launch, I might even double dip, one for ps4 and one for switch.
Nah a year's too much. PW isn't exactly a mainstream series in the west so it should drop to like 50 bucks during the first three months.
depends on your market i guess, some of the musou games still sells for full price after several years, like berserk band of hawks, dynasty warriors 9 etc. check what the other musou games sells for in your market.
They leave out Moria as a playable i see no reason to get this when I already have 3.

Nah, Musou games drop fast unless they're Zelda related. At the very least it'll probably be on sale pretty quickly, even if its not a permanent price drop. Online digital version for sure will be lower.
I’ll get it at launch on switch, probably preorder to get tot Wano costumes
I like Warriors games, but none of them are ever worth $60.
Already pre-ordered for the Switch on this end.
…I lost my PW3 somewhere
@Johnny:

True. They tend to be worth 100$.
The story mode looks really disjointed. I don't get why they are skipping over so much. I've no issue with starting at Alabasta, but skipping over Fishman Island and Punk Hazard?. That's odd.
Is that the sengoku's first modeling in PW?
If sengoku is a playable character, i will fit well with the system of this game. (form
change system and gigantic characters)
I'll admit I'm definitely not getting the game at launch. Since I'd never played a Warriors game, I actually decided a few months ago to get PW3 first so I could test out the playstyle and see whether or not it's for me before spending $60 on 4. (It helps that 3 and 4 will each have their own unique stuff rather than 4 just being "everything that 3 has plus more", so I won't immediately feel like 3 has become obsolete once 4 comes out.) And even then, despite the fact that 3 is already cheaper at around $40 normally, I still didn't pick it up until it went on sale for New Year's at $12 a few weeks ago, haha. In fact, I did that with Unlimited World Red, too, since that was also on sale for the same price. I figure, if I don't like either one, oh well, $12 isn't a huge loss.
I'm not trying to be stingy or anything, lulz; I get why the games are priced $60 at release, and it's not that I think it's unfair. It's more like, I have so many things to choose from at any given time on my list to read/watch/play that, usually, I won't even get around to playing these games in the first place until they're already on sale anyway, so why not just wait until that point to buy them? That's what I've been doing with the Link's Awakening remake, too; I do wanna play that at some point, but I've got several other works that are higher priority right now, so I'll wait until I'm ready/almost ready to give it a go and see what the prices look like then.
But as for OP games: I am indeed really liking PW3 so far and doing better at it than I expected (I actually don't suck! Yay!), so I'm quite sure that I'll want to get PW4 eventually and experience canon-Dressrosa, WCI, and Wano (and possibly Zou) in this game format. But now that I have 3 and UWR, those should tide me over until well after 4 comes out and likely goes on sale. If I really get an itch for seeing what happens in the stuff unique to 4 before I'm ready to actually play it, I might just watch a walkthrough on YouTube. In fact, I watched a walkthrough of the entirety of 3 on YouTube as well about a month or so before I bought the game, and it hasn't made playing through it myself any less enjoyable for me at all.
The deluxe edition listing is up on Xbox for $90 and includes the following:
This game is gonna underperform? 90 dollars?? Lmao
I'm a bit cautious for the season pass chars. I mean. Considering this is Koei and they're removing chars and doing very little to improve the likes of Franky and Chopper I can't help but wonder if the DLC chars will just be the ones they removed.

Just because weak mid tiers like Chopper and Franky got no impressive ugrades doesnt mean they are lazy or whatever floats your Boat.
They made basically any char better with more range and higher speed.
Hence even someone that hasnt shown a lot like Sabo got major changes.

$90 dollars for the full game, which is $60, and the character pass, which is probably $30.
That's pretty standard for deluxe edition and season pass bundles.

I really want to see what the base roster is before judging this.
Fire Emblem Warriors added three NPCs from the base game as playable plus a further six total newcomers. Hyrule Warriors DLC added a huge chunk of content too with the various characters they released. In both of those cases the DLC was based around the chosen games or arcs of that series.
On the flip side there's a possibility characters like Eneru and Magellan who don't have an arc to warrant their inclusion are removed and readded as you suggest. This DLC process is going to be interesting either way.
I think we can all agree Giraffe Kaku needs to be playable this time.
To be honest I would be happy with a load of NPCs from PW3 getting the upgrade, Kaku included.
How Bon Clay hasn't been a playable character yet despite his popularity is beyond me.
Mr. 3 would be tons of fun looking at what the NPC version does; let us throw harpoons, bazookas, hamster balls, axes and swords at mooks!
Blueno would be great fun with his fruits abilities too. Popping in and out of reality, slapping peoples heads around, etc.
Monet, again, has a fun fruit with lots of potential and the ability to fly.
Mr. 1 would probably be very efficient since every part of his body is a blade.
I doubt we'll get half of these but the possibilities!
How Mr. 1 has never been featured in any One Piece video game is far beyond me. He has one of the most fleshed out move sets and applicable powers in the whole series!

He was playable in One Piece grand battle swan colosseum, the only game he is playable in so far.

This and Buggy are the boxes I need to check to buy this game. But given how unlikely Kaku is to become playable, I will probably just go for Persona 5 Scramble instead.
Kaku is someone I could see becoming DLC, he is still quite popular and would definitely draw some people to buy the dlc, I also want more subordinates in general to be playable… Kaku, Jack, Cracker, Mr 1 and Diamante or someone else from Dressrosa please xD
Big mom looks insane
Actually I think that's our first time seeing fat Big Mom with her hair on fire.

Lol none of these people will be it.

The exception that proves the rule. That's one single game in almost twenty years!
Im still waiting for a playable Paulie, he was barely playable in the unlimited cruise games. Lol.
Wow, Big Mom and Kaidou both look AWFUL to play. Its cool that they're actual size and all the other characters are shrunk down to compensate but… crushing everyone like ants is super crazy boring. You won't get to see or feel any of your stuff landing and the fodder is even more fodder than usual. That level of overkill will be fun for a round or two, as like an endgame reward (Hyrule Warriors had giant Ganon for instance) but that's going to just... not be fun very very fast.
I know they scaled up character like Whitebeard before but not to that degree.

Right? I don't remember Whitebeard being ten times the size of the fodder soldiers.
They probably tried to convey the feeling that the Yonkou are huge both in stature and might, I suppose but ended up going way beyond that. Now I'm wondering if Whitebeard's version will be resized as well.
Lol none of these people will be it.
I mean you're probably right but it's a shame. These guys already have almost full working movesets in PW3. Tried the PC mod to play them and most are a blast.

Katakuri seems to be the right height, so I assume Whitebeard will be as well, along with Ivankov, Kuma and Moria if they're in
I hope they include all arcs in this game.
@joekido:
I hope they include all arcs in this game.
They wont.
Alabasta, Enies Lobby, Marineford, Dressrosa, Whole Cake Island and Wano are confirmed. We’ve seen screenshots of what appears to be sabaody archipelago as well.
I suppose it all depends on who is returning and who isn't. I mean if Luffy, Croc, Jinbe and Buggy are all back and replayable (and assuming Ivankov is too) and they keep the same models from previous games (which I guess they will) I'm not really sure why we wouldn't see Impel Down tbh.
Water 7 Map Confirmed
Ivankov, Fujitora, and Marco confirmed playable
Kuma, Pica, Whitebeard, Jack, Drake all confirmed "At Least" Giant Bosses
Blueno confirmed returning NPC
IGN's site also has a video of the same level but with Kaidou instead of Luffy, they''l probably upload it to youtube later

the person playing Big Mom is a very bad player when it comes to showcasing her strenghts.
very pleased with Katakuri's gameplay, he seems really fun to play. Apparently enemies can get mochied now, growing a donnut around them…kkk
