@Gia:
Frankly, Id love it, but it would be depressing if Kuma/Vegapunk, Akainu, Im/Gorosei, Shanks or BB didnt get as much screentime as Kaido and BM have gotten the last 3-4 years.
We really do need significant panel time with the characters, and the only way do that is to allow the manga to run for as long as it can. Big Mom and Kaido have, combined, gotten 350 chapters of plot setup (600-950 roughly through the arcs) and it wont be done for a significant while still.
It would be a shame if BB/Shanks didnt get that same plot buildup/focus. Though Oda should figure out ways to tie Vegapunk/Kuma/Elbaf/Impel down escapees/Enel and the Moon/CP-0/The Marines/The WG into it all instead of creating entirely new concepts like Smile and SAD were.
There has to be some sort of middle ground post Wano. I HOPE he can finish Wano in 2-3ish more years, focus on Vegapunk/Kuma for another 2, Shanks and BB for another 4-5 years (lol), Elbaf for a few years, and the Final war for another 5, along with the myriad of small character plots but I can see how impossible that sounds.
I personally want it to be long and exciting, because so far it hasnt let up. Id hate to see it be rushed. But if I had to choose between a bleach ending or a faster paced one, id choose the latter in a heartbeat.
However, realistically, its probably ending within the next 8-10, it just depends on HOW he does it, because the pace is slower already due to the number of breaks he is allotted to keep it serialized.
From the current setup, you only need a Vegapunk centric arc, Elbaf, which in turn might get combined with something else, whether it´s BM, Shanks or whatever, and the final long arc with BB and World Government, which arguably will be long.
Vegapunk arc can easily have Kuma, Revos, Smoker, Underground, including Level 6, and with the Revos, CP0, in it, and after Dressrosa, it´s not too far-fetched, since Oda is not shying way from convolution.
Elbaf is obvious, probably in combination with the moon, though quite frankly, as an island, it has to be visited, whether it has to get featured in a 100 chapter arc is a different matter.
And the final arc, which might run for 200 chapters and hence 4-5 years, is also obvious.
Besides that, completely new adventures seem unrealistic at this point, simply because, like Felres pointed out, we reached a different stage of the story. The locations we will see will still feature some kind of adventurous feeling to them, but they will not be completely unknown to us like Whiskey Peak or Drum.
The entire second half, besides Punk Hazard, has been consciously chosen by the Strawhats.
