I mean if there is ANY series that could use some filling in, it's this one and the anime was actually pretty good at points.

I suppose the declining popularity of the manga crossed over to declining popularity of the anime, and it got axed….for the Rock Lee spin-off, no else. I would definitely be pleased to see the return of the anime, or even an OVA, as at least Pierrot can put in life
and backgroundsto many of Kubo's blank pages.Sadly the VA for Yamamoto died.

Well, I believe the general consensus is that 100 billion have ever been alive, so that's a 70% success rate.
You gotta remember that souls cycle between the living world and soul society. That's why I wished kubo would have revealed there wasn't any soul balance, and that it was a lie perpetually by the older generation shinigami to justify why only they should handle hollows.

Ichigo has a personality of ??????? --> he becomes a doctor too. Sure, whatever.(And of course, Orihime, compassionate, helpful and with godlike healing powers -->housewife.)

Last bit of Ulquiorra vs Ichigo was jaw dropping. The animation, the music, the SFX. Damn.
And I think it was the same week as Naruto vs Pain cartoon fight, so it ended up looking even more impressive.

I get the felling that Ichigo is the actual housekeeper and Orihime cures people. He went through medical training, and was terrible at it, so he has the license for the clinic, but she's the one doing the work.

So why not show this by having him literally mature to adulthood.It was temporary. He was a kid again by the end of it.

Easy, I'd be a better writer and not have her revert back to her child form. It's mind boggling how kubo thought that was a good idea. I can set aside her turning into a child in the first place (as nonsensical as that is), but her changing back? It's insulting because kubo set up this scenario where Nel would get closure on the person who physically and mentally scarred her. But, NOPE! Kubo has to kubo, and kenpachi swoops in to save the day. We can't have actual meaningful moments in Bleach. That would take away from the bloated fight scenes and pseudo-philosophical diatribe.

Hahaha true, but I definitely think Naruto ending up with the girl he showed little to no interest in for the entire series (while she spent the entire series ineffectively pining over him), worked better as a parallel.

Adult body has more potential, probably. More strength, speed, reiatsu. Even though he's a spirit. It's not really as silly a mechanic as you make it out to be. As far as shonens go.
Granted, the fact his Bankai behaves like that in the first place is silly.

I mean there's not really a metric for "silly mechanic" :P. If you don't find it silly that's fine, but I don't think I'm outside my rights to find it dumb that the absolute form of someone with a giant ice dragon soul spirit, with a bankai that creates a pair of ice wings, an ice tail and three ice flowers, is…a taller version of a kid. I mean, in so far as you say an adult could represent those three things, those things are so general that they could be represented by most anything in the Bleach universe. As can be seen by the fact that the kid gains (notionally) most all of those things by staying the exact same pint-size but growing ice wings. As seen by the fact that Ichigo gains most of those things by changing clothes. Unless there's some sort of Bleach mechanic that gives people power based on their physical maturity, which I don't recall. He's supposed to be a wunderkind cause he's spiritually young, not because he's an old spirit still in a young kid's body that has great power anyway. I'm pretty sure the correlation between age and power in the Bleach-verse (well, the general trend towards one) is fairly typically related to an increase in experience and learning, not so much a literal transition through spiritual puberty. Which is to say I'd imagine if he went through some sort of hyperbolic time chamber and lived for 200 years but stayed the same pint-size, I'd expect him to be, by Bleach universe law, more powerful than if he had lived normally just 50 but gone through spirit puberty.

That point actually makes sense based on what was previously established in Bleach:
- Only souls with spitirual powers can grow older (aside from other things, like feeling hungry)
- Shinigami grow at very inconsistent rates, suggesting their maturity is not connected to their actual age (or that Kubo just couldn't be bothered to make sense).
How shinigami grow older is not something Kubo ever addressed, but the general consensus is that it is related to how much control they gain over their spiritual powers. Hitsugaya suddenly growing older once he gets access to the full extent of his Bankai makes sense (normally shinigami would progressively grow older just like humans, but since in his case it works as a "unlock/lock" system it is different).
Also, Hitsugaya's Bankai was already established to have more power than he can currently control, so it having a warm-up period before safely going 100% makes sense as well. -
Huh? I don't think I'd ever claim that "making sense", fairly subjective term that that is, is the metric by which I'm judging Bleach.
It "made sense" that Aizen would mop the floor with all the captains, given they couldn't detect him in any way and he was more powerful than them individually.
It "made sense" that he could negate Shinji's inversion abilities, and Soi-fon's poison, "cause reiatsu" given that's a fairly poorly defined concept.
It "made sense" that Aizen would keep pulling more and more stupid condom butterfly transformation abilities out of the Hogyokou that would pull victory from fights he was losing given it was literally some sort of wish granting device and its power was as limitless as it was poorly defined.
It "made sense" that there was a secret, 0 member of the espada.
None of that making sense made those plot progression threads any more interesting or fun or engaging to a lot of readers.It also "makes sense" that people would fight only with as much power as they deemed necessary to win a fight, leading to people fighting at a lower power level, one losing a bit, going stronger, turning the battle around, so the other guy increases their power level, etc. ad nauseam. That didn't make the constant repetition of the fight chapters where:
-two dudes duke it out –> one guy pulls out a killer move --> end on drammatic explosion page...only for the other dude to be pretty ok and ready with his next power level at the start of the next chapter
any more interesting. -

Eh well I'll give them credit for at least focusing on the Grand Fisher in this one. One of the more annoying things I had with the manga was how his story arc just got brushed aside for the Arrancar later in the series.
Not really coming into this with high expectation, after the mess that was Fullmetal Alchemist, live action movies of anime really don't appeal to me much.

Rukia's hair in the movie gives me OCD, it's just wrong. Also, why she so serious, Rukia's meant to be upbeat and happy.
Why are Renji and Byakuya in the movie, but not Orihime and Chad. Where are Urahara and Yoruichi!? Lol knowing Japan they couldn't find a the white blonde man and a sexy black woman actors to play their respective parts. Chad should be easy though, plenty of Brazilian-Japanese Ha-fu around :wassat:

The biggest theme of Bleach is really just what the title is.
Black is death and grief, along with a foreboding feeling of the end while white is moving on from it and a new fresh state.
I'm still triggered by Kubo's decision regarding the ending but after a few years I've come to appreciate the man for what he was good at.
Hate it or not, you have to agree that the man is brilliant at creating simple stylish yet creative designs.
His story, while wonky, had its shining moments. Specifically at the start and the end of Soul Society. You can tell that those arcs were when he enjoyed writing his characters and their development the most.
What is unfortunate, however, is that his own soul gave up somewhere after the work load, deadlines and the need to pander to fans.
His lack of experience, being a very young author serializing a ten year manga that bamboozled to popularity also placed significant expectations and stress on him.
I'm saying that not everyone excel when stressed.He had no idea how to write a mesmerizing war, or how to handle a huge cast of characters, or how to logically end a fight.
All the while coming up with plot twists, hoping one will stick or be as genius as the aizen one, just to keep his readers attention.
It could be for the money or maybe the guy really hopes that if he stayed long enough, he would get better.
All of this inexperience shines through during a reread.That's my two cents. He's a terrible writer, yes. But I think he had a lot of potential.

I'll give this to the Japanese Ani-Movie industry: They know how to make visually interesting trailers and trailer shots…....

Trailers can be amazing since they're just a couple of minutes so they're jamm packed with the good stuff. Movies are hours long and tedious affaires. -

The same ones that look hype as all hell in the trailer in snippets, end up not translating as well once you see it in its own movie.
