At least Saul didn't die quite as...definitively...as some of the other fake-outs. Look guys, Oda needed a way to connect Ohara to Elbaf, so it had to be giants. And Saul was the only Ohara-related giant we know of.

It actually would've been MUCH cleaner and made MUCH more narrative sense if it was Dragon's Freedom Fighters that came back and retrieved the books, and nothing would have been lost from the chapter. So it's clear Oda really needed the Ohara plotline to feed the Elbaf arc. Maybe the payoff will make this whole thing more palatable for you guys.

I don't know if it's just coincidence that we were told a story about a giant robot that mysteriously activated itself and took action towards some unknown ends in a chapter in which a giant robot activated itself and started taking action towards some unknown ends...

I'm infinitely confused as to why, though?! It's not as if heteromorph discrimination isn't an interesting story thread to pull at. And it's not as if Spinner doesn't DESPERATELY need something--ANYTHING--to make him interesting like his fellow villains (or just interesting at all). Square peg, square hole, right?!

But just like the My Villain Academia training arc (where Spinner was the only one to not evolve or develop whatsoever), Hori refuses to give Spinner any development to become a real character. In fact, Hori set this storyline up so well--mutant discrimination coming to a head with ordinary everyday people who are so fed up with it that they're willing to throw their lots in with the main mutant villain because he's making their voices heard--that he's now WORKING HARDER to undo it by making Spinner look like a complete dope and utter joke.

Why?!!!!!! Is it really cause he just f**king hates the character of Spinner that much?

Worse, because he wrote it in such a way that Heteromorph people--who by all accounts seem to have legitimate issues because of the way they're mistreated for a part of them they have no control over--are inadvertently tying their genuine cause to an oversized literally-drooling idiot, Hori makes their entire movement look like a complete farce because it's being headed up by a vacuous, feckless dumbass!

After rereading the discussion, I have also come to this conclusion. It's as solid a theory as any other that has been posted in this discussion X-D

I understand we needed Stussy as the exposition machine and Kaku to get expositioned on, but gosh I really wish Lucci and the other govt agents had been in the last few chapters by themselves. There'd be so much more tension if we had no idea were Kaku and Stussy were.

Sometimes it's interesting to think how long MHA could've run and what heights it may have achieved had it come out during the early Big Three era, when series were given time in Shonen Jump to breathe and exist and expand and experiment and--le gasp--even sometimes fail and learn.

But MHA went from 0 to 4th Ninja War Chakra Gundams so quickly that the original story we were being told is still reeling. Reading the events of the prerelease of Chapter 374 still makes me feel like I'm reading a summary of the manga instead of the manga itself.

.........y'all know that was the real-life solution to legalized discrimination, right? At least here in the United States. Making people ashamed of their own cruelty was a big factor in getting the Civil Rights Act passed.

@Razh The very same! You do raise a good point, I hadn't considered Tabata could offscreen Lucius' progress and show us the results by reintroducing former friends as current foes with no warning. I guess that's not all that surprising, but it could create a bit of drama for us readers since we'd have no idea who might be pop up as an opponent next ...

I'm guessing brain in a jar for the main body? Body probably deteriorated due to age, shonen illness, etc., but his brain was still sharp, so he built himself new bodies that could continue his work.

There must be some reason he stopped at six bodies though. Especially when he complained about not having enough work force for mass production of his inventions; seems he'd be able to just create the labor force. Or many more bodies for himself.

Also, it was strange to see the Vegapunks share physical sensations when they have been shown to have independent unique thoughts and reasoning...
