There are two things he doesn't care about right in the title. You can't expect him to know the whole song!

Haha. Man he's awful. God Bless America isn't even a long song.
Didn't he do this before last year? And what exactly was this event? I don't get why he's doing some 'patriotic event' on a random day when there is a official Flag Day coming up on June 14, Wouldn't that be a better choice for a patriotic event, esp. when he's making a fuss about being patriotic, and "respect the Flag".
…. oh wait yes I do know why he wouldn't do that on June 14.
Trumpster surely wouldn't do something patriotic on his birthday!
Damn it, I hate sharing the same day of birth with this asshole! I'd rather boast its same day Boy George was born :getlost: -
Congratulations to the 573 Democratic candidates who have given Dana Russiabacher another term by all running against him.
-
A Democrat is neck-and-neck for second and more urban (liberal) areas usually come in later, so there's still a perfectly decent chance Dems won't be locked out of the 48th.

Congratulations to the 573 Democratic candidates who have given Dana Russiabacher another term by all running against him.
Looks like we're fine.

Sooooooooo. OIG report on the handling of the whole emails thing comes out next week.
Get ready for so much smokescreen, confusion, and bad-faith finger-pointing it'll make your head spin. It is going to be brutal, and it is going to make the DOJ look terrible, and Trump is going to point that out while ignoring the fact that all of it helped him at the expense of his opponent.
I'm in so much dread.

A few stories from today's still developing WTF Just Happened Today feed:
More than 118,000 California primary voters were left off the voter rolls due to a random printing error. Those voters can still cast provisional ballots, but the process of counting and verifying a large number of provisional ballots could delay the vote tally in some local races. "We apologize for the inconvenience and concern this has caused," said the Los Angeles County Clerk in a statement. "Voters should be assured their vote will be counted." (CNN / Politico)

Jeff Sessions defended the Trump administration policy of separating migrant children from their families when they arrive at the U.S. southern border. "If people don’t want to be separated from their children, they should not bring them with them," Sessions told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt. "We’ve got to get this message out. You’re not given immunity." (Washington Post)
The Trump communications aide who mocked John McCain's deteriorating health has left the White House. The White House said Kelly Sadler is "no longer employed within the executive office of the president," but two people familiar with Sadler's departure said she was not ousted because of her comments about McCain. They suggested that Sadler was pushed out due to tensions between her and White House strategic communications director Mercedes Schlapp, who were reportedly unable to be in the same room with each other. More on those 120K voters left off LA Count rolls- voters were actually turned away from polling stations because they ran out of provisional ballots. Losing gubernatorial candidate and former LA mayor Antonio Villaraigosa was pushing for the voting window to stay open through Friday, which is unprecedented and very unlikely, but for the time being LA County is still accepting provisional ballots.
It probably won't affect any statewide races but some smaller ones, like the 39th House seat, definitely could be swayed by the missing voters.

Fuck this administration. There is no defense or reason for this. This isn't even in the name of greed for money and power.
This is just straight up supervillainy for the sake of being cruel.

Day 504: Acid-wash.
1/ Rudy Giuliani to Stormy Daniels: "I don't respect a porn star the way I respect a career women or a women of substance." Daniels' attorney, Michael Avenatti, called Giuliani an "absolute, disgusting pig" and demanded Trump fire him "immediately." He added that "it doesn't matter what a women's profession is. It has nothing to do with their credibility or whether they should be respected." Giuliani defended his statement, saying: "I don't have to undermine her credibility. She's done it by lying." 2/ The Justice Department will brief lawmakers next week about the FBI's use of an informant in connection with its investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. The new offer is a concession to Republican demands for more information about the probe. The Justice Department and FBI "are prepared to brief members on certain questions specifically raised by the speaker and other members" and allow lawmakers "to review certain supporting documents that were made available during the prior briefing." Democrats are concerned that the briefings could allow Trump's legal team with access to sensitive details of the investigation. (Washington Post / CNBC)
3/ Sean Hannity suggested that witnesses in the Robert Mueller probe "follow Hillary Clinton's lead" by destroying their personal phones before handing them over to prosecutors. Hannity told witnesses to "delete all your emails and then acid-wash your emails and hard drives on the phones, then take your phones and bash them with a hammer to little itsy bitsy pieces." Hand them over to Mueller, Hannity continued, "and say, Hillary Rodham Clinton, this is equal justice under the law." Hannity later insisted that he was kidding. (The Hill / Business Insider)
4/ Colin Kaepernick's lawyers plan to subpoena Trump and Pence as part of his collusion case against the NFL in an attempt to gain information about Trump's political involvement with NFL owners. One of Kaepernick's attorneys recently claimed that an unnamed NFL owner admitted under oath during a deposition that he decided not to offer Kaepernick a contract after Trump called for the firing of players who refused to stand for the national anthem. (Yahoo! Sports / USA Today / Axios)
5/ Trump's new national security adviser has not had a Cabinet-level National Security Council meeting on North Korea after two months on the job. In April, Trump blamed John Bolton for derailing the upcoming summit with North Korea after Bolton said the U.S. would make no concessions unless North Korea denuclearized. Trump instead has driven the preparation for the summit almost exclusively on his own, consulting with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. (Politico)

6/ France and Germany won't sign the joint G7 statement without major concessions from the U.S. on tariffs, the Iran nuclear deal, and the Paris climate accord. The joint statement details a range of policy issues that all leaders of the G7 group agree with. French president Emmanuel Macron urged the other members of the G7 to stand up to the U.S. over Trump's decision to impose steel and aluminum tariffs against the European Union, Canada, and Mexico. The G7 summit is scheduled for June 8-9 in Quebec. (Bloomberg / Politico)

Mick Mulvaney fired all 25 members of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's advisory board days after some of the members criticized his leadership as acting director of the watchdog agency. The CFPB plans to revamp the Consumer Advisory Board in the fall by hiring all new members. "The outspoken members of the Consumer Advisory Board seem more concerned about protecting their taxpayer funded junkets to Washington, D.C., and being wined and dined by the Bureau than protecting consumers," said a spokesperson for the agency. (Washington Post)Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross says the U.S. has signed a deal with Chinese telecom giant ZTE to end the crippling sanctions against the company. Well, it looks like Ontario Canada didn't learn its lesson from us and is about to do a Conservative majority sweep and elected their own Trump, Doug Ford, who campaigned on helping the rich and lowering the minumum wage and has no idea how to implement any of his policies and is being sued by his own family. It may still change in the next few hours but early results make it seem unlikely.
The entire world is in a weird time of upheaval as the old farts take their last grasps at the good old days while young people refuse to bother voting.

Ontario specifically in case people start wondering why Trudeau's still around

I figured Ontario was the center of at least Anglo-Canada's left wing, how the hell is this happening?? Like this guy doesn't look electable to governor of New York or Mass, and I just assumed Ontario was further left than either of them. This really hurts my head.
-
Canada Folk I follow put it as a result of an an increasingly unpopular left-wing government that had seen diminishing returns getting kicked out regardless of candidate, just a really bad one this year.
Much like this last US election had a lot of folk framing their vote as being anti-corruption/anti-swamp and then not paying attention to the fact that the guy running on that ticket was infinitely worse.
-
Liberals couldn't rally behind the NDP and this is the result.
A FPTP system with three centre/left of centre/left parties is really dumb.

Trump asking NFL players for who to pardon is insanity.
-
I believe this is the first time he has acknowledged that they are kneeling for a specific cause (quite a limited scope of the issue but alright).
The frightening part is that if no one comes forward with pardoning suggestions, he will find a new reason for his base to hammer on the NFL. Oh boy.

He already mentioned pardoning Mohammed Ali. Which is weird. Since he's dead and as far as I know wasn't in prison for anything?
-
He was convicted for dodging the draft, but the Supreme Court overturned it and then Carter gave all draft evaders a blanket pardon.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Basically, the pardon thing is Trump's version of "I can't be racist, I have a black friend."
-
Trump's that kind of racist that also thinks "the blacks" are cool and hip, and wants the great black hivemind to approve of him on some level. Not politically or socially or whatever, he just wants to be cool.
-
After watching clips of him drinking water like a toddler I don't think he'd ever achieve cool lol.
-
Well, don't worry Trump. You'll always be cool in the eyes of the ignorant paranoid right-wing nutjobs.

Embracing rural and blue collar whites is probably his last ditch effort to be cool after failing his whole life to be respected by Northeast old money whites.

feel like attacking ACA again could legit put the Senate in play
at this point, I have trouble weighing all the potential ultimate outcomes and figuring out what things I need to focus my concern on at the moment

Many of the times that have most damaged Trump and the GOP's polling in the past couple years have indeed been healthcare related.

Trump calls for Russia to be brought back into G7
https://www.politico.eu/article/donald-trump-wants-russia-back-at-g7/amp/
How much more evidence do we need to prove that Russia has Trump in their pocket?
-
Why is no one mentioning this stuff? They're going to find another way to wreck the ACA and ruin the lives of millions of people.
There's any number of groups that can step up and defend the law in court. Proving standing would be pretty easy for them as well since that would affect anybody with healthcare. Plus it's a spurious case anyway since SCOTUS has already established that the law is constitutional.
As is, all this accomplishes is to keep healthcare alive as an issue by attacking one of the most universally popular aspects of it and one that directly takes aim at some of the demographics that vote more often.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Despite fears, California Democrats made it onto 53/53 ballots in House districts while the GOP won't appear on ten of those.
-
Your faith in the Supreme Court is way higher than mine. Setting aside how unprecedented the Justice Department's move is, there's the issue that the lower court judging the lawsuit will likely go for the plaintiffs (which is going to mess things up when enrollment time comes around and the last thing people need is freaking about whether they or not will be covered or can afford it), and we don't know how the Supreme Court will look when it reach it, with rumors of Kennedy retiring and Ginsburg at 85.

Abe looks so done with this shit.

What is most telling about that image is that it was spread by the German government. One of America's closest allies purposely propagating taking a stand against it.

I feel this joke is right, but I'd hope that the ring wingers that voted Trump in could at least recognize what a bitch move this is. If they've ever had a kid who uses Twitter, I'd like to think they're seen this move beforehand. I'd like to think they were disgusted by it, and angry and confused that someone would refuse to air their grievances face-to-face.
I just wonder where the breaking point is. It feels like Trump is becoming worse as time goes on. At the very least, it'll make mid-terms dramatic, cause no matter how those go it'll be the time that Congress might get the stones to act. I mean, Trump's actions have to be costing them some money.
-

If they've paid no mind to all his other bitch moves this one is going to make them wise the hell up.
-
Don't fool yourselves, no one's "wising up". Trump isn't getting any worse as time goes on. What's worse is that people are becoming desensitized to how bad he is.
Approval ratings continue to inch toward average despite nothing changing.
I genuinely fear for the state of my country, and honestly the world, too. Interesting times, indeed…
-
Approval ratings continue to inch toward average despite nothing changing.
They're relatively static and pretty awful in light of the economy, which has zero chance of maintaining its current pace with the effects of Republican economic policies soon to kick in.
While he's pretty scandal ridden and awful, there's really no single big event that justifies his bad approval ratings compared to other Presidents with similar numbers. Ford's plummeted after pardoning Nixon, Nixon's eventually got there because of Watergate (he only got as unpopular as Trump after almost two years of weathering that scandal), Clinton had a bunch of things hit all at the same time, Truman had Korea, Reagan had a recession, Carter had an oil crunch, and so on.
Trump is just generally disliked by a majority of the population with upticks in his popularity basically being Republicans coming home to him rather than him peeling off Democrats and Independents.
