Chapter 832 "Germa Kingdom"
-
-
I hope Sanji is the one to smash his father's face in. Luffy can have someone else for a change.
Perhaps we will see Sanji actually getting upper hand in their fight but then Sanjis father can say that Sanji outgrown him same as Sanjis older brothers or something along those lines.
-
I do wonder the reason why he hates his father has to do with his mother. I wonder if his mother was killed due to the actions of his father, and he hasn't forgiven him since.
-
@O:
Oda use a lot of frensh references in One Piece so I'm surprise no one seems to believe me when I said that Boa Hancock is tribute to Thomas Hancock and Boadicée
Well for starters we don't believe you because it was a bad theory based on flimsy linguistic understanding.It doesn't help though that Oda "using a lot of French references" is meaningless and the French stuff generally is focused on stuff like, y'know, food names. Boa Hancock meanwhile is from a amazonian jungle island with Chinese looking things. So has absolutely nothing to do with France.But really though the mainest thing of all is….you don't even know the difference between France and England apparently. So um...yeah there's that detail here to be considered.
-
Aldtionally, Boa is a genus of a a group of snakes.
-
Boudica, Queen of the Iceni Celts of Western England, historical French land.

Nah, Judge looks to be this arcs main antagonist (Big Mom is being saved for a later date, or maybe will just suffer a strategic loss and never take Luffy on directly [Brooke and Pedro get the print for Luffy]), and therefore cannot go down before this arc's climax; as such, its very unlikely for Sanji to come out on top in this fight.
-
Judge is a perfect character for a Lion Zoan.
-

It's very possible.

Does that panel actually exist in the manga; if so, it might have so implications to Sanji.

Im really just hoping sanji isnt jobbed if thats the casePart of me doubts that we will see too much of a fight next chapter though, especially if he's an arc villain. I will stick to my opinion that big mom isnt the big bad or at least will make peace with the hats, though i doubt an alliance will be formed, maybe theyll just end up on ok terms

Chapter 220.
-

Yeah, chapter 220, page 5 or 6. It's a random picture of a woman he found in a wrecked ship, but the way he looks at it is poignant.

How awful would it be if we get a flash back of Sanji's mother and she meets her end with a harpoon through her head? That would be some crazy foreshadowing, though honestly if something like that came to be it would fit nicely with these 2 panels but I'd chalk it up to Oda recently going back through his work and using it to further the story rather than it being something that was planned all along. Oda doesn't seem to mind showing us skulls with spears and such in them but to get that actual moment with a flesh and blood body might be too much. Maybe a harpoon through the heart.
-
Well according to the dads portrait, he is supposedly wielding a spear as it shows several spears also behind him. So I wouldn't be surprised if that is the same way the mom died.

are we seriously considering this
-
The look sanji gives that photo sure does seem out of place whenever I see it. It's probably not the same person but I think sanji was reminded of his mother. Who many hypothesize is dead, im kind of hoping thatits not as cliche as his dad killing her though as its been hypothesized so much that reveal wouldnt do much for me tbh.–- Update From New Post Merge ---@Monkey:

Sounds like quite a leap indeed. Dont think oda would go that graphic either.That panel always seemed to beout of place though upon reread though. I Dont think sanji's mother is alive but Im hoping for the probable backstory on it to be great, and go deeper than " sanji's dad is a serial wife beater / killed her out of anger "
-
@Monkey:
are we seriously considering this
Well not by spear but she very likely died because of Sanjis father. One could think that picture pierced by spear is metaphor/hint that she died because of Sanjis father.
-
You missed my point. Those hints you said are not related to the Germa 66 organization. They only hint to the fact that Sanji is from a royal family from which he ran away. But his family isn't just royalty, they're a huge technologically advanced military/mercenary force, involved in many operations and civil wars throughout history. That's a big difference in relevancy.
You obviously don't understand even after 800 chapters that we get the story through Luffy's perspective. If it weren't for Sanji we wouldn't probably hear about Germa at all because they aren't such a big deal as you describe them. This is the same as bitching about why Oda didn't hint the existence of Baroque Works while we were still in East Blue[emoji1]

When I was reading the chapter and the introduction of Charlotte Brûlée came with her scar and her wanting to slice Namis face, I don't know why, the only thing that came to mind was this Japanese urban legend of the Sliced mouthed woman, in which she will ask you if you think she is pretty and if you answer yes she will cut your face.

I'd say they are a pretty big deal, all things considered, - control Marines, mess with bounty posters, ally with a Yonkou, etc. It's just that other than lurking in the shadows, the place where they are actually a famous name and a huge deal is North Blue, where the story never went.

Exactly, they were a big deal in North Blue and they aren't anymore. They are a small (or at the very least not as big as some users here make them out to be) player on global scale and that's why we haven't heard about them until recently. Maybe things would have been different if the story started from North instead of East Blue.

Yeah this is a really nice theory… Would be awesome if the panel is connected to Sanji's mom.
Something different... I read about Killer being a Vinsmoke cuz he looks very similar to Judge again.
If true... which number could be Killer?
0 = Reiju
1 = Ichiji
2 = Niji
3 = Sanji
4 = YonjiKiller is older as Sanji so he should be above in numbering... But I see nothing. Only real possibility I see if Killer is a twin to one of the 3 elder siblings.
Personally now I doubt he is connected to Sanji or Judge while I still agree that they look similar
-
Killer could be Nope-ji.
-
While Killer does seem to be a cook and same hair as Judge and hides his eyebrows, has some tech based blades, he doesn't fit the brothers numbers and why is the family not searching for him too. Unless he is like sanji's uncle or cousin. I guess he fits the same character similarities like clockbeard but it's just that.Btw since we are at Killers, if he is the cook of the crew, then he can't also be the vice captain, right? So either someone new will join Kidd or Heat /fork guy is the vice captain?

I think Killer would have to have a different Mom.Or Killer is Jajji's younger brother, maybe they have a theme Judge, Jury and Executioner (Killer)
-
Killer has some bronze age tech for sure.Webble next?

There's really no rule that says you can't be a cook and vice captain. I'm mean Nami is the navigator but she can cook too.

I found another one of the siblings. So lost, he went to another world. [hide][/hide] The fall of the Vinsmock family is a bit shady. With the revelation of the coup things get a bit messier in my mind. I will make a full blown speculation about the Vinsmock history, though I am not sure where to post it. Possible scenarios for the coup: 1. The Vinsmock's lost their kingdom sometime around when Brooke was trapped in the Triangle. The coup happened around this time. 2. They lost it before that time, and the coup was from countries in North Blue rebelling against the Government. The Vinsmock were hired and stopped it.

the tribute is hitorical, boa story is so close to boudicca ( boadicée) , I don't talk about france or england, I don't know what you talk about, you remark is just lame and stupid

I dont believe it either but I kind of doubt he was named killer, I think thats a nickname

I don't think there was a fall to begin with it. They don't have a land to rule because their kingdom is split between ships all around the seas and I think the Coup happened after Brook's time and maybe during Sanji's childhood since Jaggi doens't seem different from that portrait.
-
I am inclined to believe that reasonably sane parents will not name their child Killer. Unless his parents are like the incarnation of Kaido and Big Mum.
Not really buying the Killer is a Vinsmoke theories by the way.
-

Yes, however Reiju did say her father wanted to rule over North Blue again. So they have lost some sort of ruling power. Do you think that their kingdom-ship was like that from the beginning. It seems more like a counter measure to whatever happened to their original kingdom. If the Sora story is any hint. Even their footwear seems like a counter measure against the guy whom could walk on water. Is the Sora story entirely fictitious?
-
I don't think any of the current Vinsmokes were alive when their family ruled the North Blue. Empirical dominions that large tend to fall apart pretty easily, especially when power changes hands from one generation to the next.
-
Judge is a perfect character for a Lion Zoan.
Come to think of it, it would indeed suit him well. Speaking of which, I'm expecting references to the devil from him. It'd explain the "fire" techniques Sanji uses.
-
Based on the comic strip, that marines won all the time over Vinsmokes, Sora could be the reason why Vinsmokes lost North blue. But Who could he be, Sengoku? Tsuru? Garp? One of the pre ts admirals?Anywway, looking back at the comic strip chapter, it does look like vinsmokes represent the evil army, it doesn't look like the comic strip lied or was just a story, unless they lied about the marines victory.So the comic book wasn't just used to brainwash kids, like they said back then, it looks true so far.
-
@O:

Their stories are not close or even similar.

You said that since Oda uses lots of French references, you don't understand why people don't accept you connecting Boa to Thomas Hancock and Boudica.Thomas Hancock's name is insanely obviously English, and insanely obviously not French.And Boudica was from Celtic Briton.
-
Brûlée actually looks older than Big Mom doesn't she? I wouldn't be surprised if Big Mom used her devil fruit power on Brûlée in the past.
-
Well Germa 66 are assassins so his Killer's name being Killer kinda fits though? Maybe he's just a bastard & wasn't named according to number.
-
The blonde gorosei could also be related to sanji. That would explain why WG still allows them to be royals, even if they are evil army enemy of marines and took north blue by force killing 4 kings? Because the family grandpa is a gorosei… and protects them.He also shaves his eyebrows, as it seems, and looks just like old version of sanji, hair, color, goatee, suit, body shape?But that would not explain why they want to go under a yonkou... unless they have other plans, like steal her poneglyph for wg, and in exchange they get north blue?
-
Sanji's opportunity for redemption is at hand since the time skip he's been a loser his one ' W ' was off panelled against Yonji. I doubt he'll win but at least show us something.
-

Ironically his mustaches kind of resemble the shapes on regulaar eyebrows

I think option number 2 is the best explanation so far.
The Vinsmokes helping the World Government against countries in rebellion makes it understandable why the WG would be doing them favours like the "Only Alive" bounty for Sanji. -
Lol epic cover by Oda.
-
The thing I liked most about this ep was the reveal that most of the men of the Vinsmoke kingdom train endlessly to be perfect soldiers.It really reveals why he had a disdain for Zoro from the instant they met without hammering it over your head. First rate character writing there.
-
So… Chances of Oda actually showing us some of the skirmish between Papa Vinsmoke and Sanji?

Well, chances we always have, but again he off-screened Sanji vs Yonji.

Things get off paneled so much these days I really hope we get a quick and cool fight that really shows Sanji's growth. Unless Dad has a warrior who is greater than himself I can't see Sanji out right winning but I'd love for it to be more of a draw with no clear victor. Of course the later fights in arc would show us that both were holding back.
