Unless she didn't marry him but instead one of his top men for some reason. Other wise… yes its odd to call your own husband as 'father'
She could be Gotti's wife. She was nagging him after all.

I guess that Pekoms will play a role of guy that Defeated Luffy and is bringing Luffy to Big Mom to repay for his failure(when he wanted to leave Sanji stay on Zou).
And he will probably say that Minks are with him because they are helping him with Luffy.
One way to solve this situation.
And lol at fact that Sanjis brother REALLY LOOKS LIKE ZORO WITH CURLY EYEBROW. Maybe its one of reasons why Sanji dislikes Zoro quite a bit..
And it's nice to see Sanji to stick to his principles of not marrying a girl he just met, even if she is gorgeous.
I was scared he'd act like a moron again.

He could say they're just there to assist the wedding. I don't think Big Mom would refuse.
But then, her wrath will only be greater once they kidnap Sanji and bring him back with 'em.
Question is: why do the Vinsmokes go after the SH ? It seems they believe that Sanji is still with them, they don't know that BM got him first. So it means it's not an arranged marriage, BM is trying to force an alliance with the Vinsmoke ?
Your three sentences each make assumptions that I don't think anyone else would make, one on top of the other, lol. It's just two ships crossing paths from what we've seen so far
Maybe they already know Sanji don't want to get married beacuse of his crew. Then let's just kill 'em all.
I dunno what was funnier, the wizards of Weatheria looking like that or Luffy continuing to be incompetent when preparing/making food.
@Malty:
She could be Gotti's wife. She was nagging him after all.
That's exactly who I was thinking of!
I agree, she was acting like the stereo-typed nagging wife towards him.
I guess if Luffy's poisoning has a purpose outside of being funny it's so that he doesn't immediately start a brawl and the cooler heads can make some plans and get some page time. Maybe even handicapping his odds for a major fight, like being trapped underwater at Arlong Park.
Strong family resemblances among the Vinsmokes it seems.
I'll just be happy if we see Big Mom properly soon, it's been a long time.
wouldn't it be strange that the wife of capone calls him "father" like all the underlings?
Yes you're right, that's weird, maybe it's the translation. If it isn't then it's fishy. But I wouldn't like Lola not to be her daughter after this. Too many coincidences. I know Oda trolls on this kind of stuff but still..
well even magellan had problems in the bathroom when ingesting poison..also luffy's immunity it's basically just an immunitary system so storng that it can counteract any poison..maybe some types take longer..or like i said the method of assimilation counts.
This could segway into an interesting discussion about writing style, Overexplaining vs Overreaching, and in my personal opinion it overreaches to use plot devices like that after seeing this page or to have four "lies" and/or "story changes" just within Zou or to have a swordsman push strings with no explanation of not trying to cut them, risking insulting reader intelligence with how the writing does what it wants for the sake of meeting its goals. It'd be a totally valid opinion for anyone to say "not everything needs an explanation", but sometimes things come up that rub me the wrong way with the writing style and cheaply done plot advancements; that's just my personal opinion.
So Sanji's hatred of Zoro is runs on a biological level huh?
I like how Nami is given the tools and know how that could affectively disrupt the entire world, create god only knows what potentially on a Logia scale and in return she teaches the scientists how to dress for red carpet events.
That story about Germa 66 looks like its Sengoku with his hat - and walking on water Sora sounds a bit like walking on water - http://www.katinkahesselink.net/other/walking-water.html
Buddha is also believed to be able to walk on water.
So it might be connected to Sengoku fighting in past with Germa 66 with help of some very simple - compared to Pacifista - robots. Robot that is visible on one panel looks a bit like Frankys Shogun. Franky was inspired by Vegapunk creations and blueprints he seen during his 2 year stay on Karakuri Island.
Im my opinion it very strongly suggests that Germa 66 vs Marines is based on Sengoku fighting with them with help of some earlier Vegapunk creations.
And yes, I know its a lot of speculation based on very little info we gotten this week on Germa 66.
Hate the chapter only came out after I came to work (like, 10 minutes after I left home) and every manga page is blocked here. Until I am back home, I just want to say I support any new character for nakama.
That Sora character is kinda of propaganda character similar to old-school to Captain America. Kinda funny because Cap 3 is coming out / already out around this time.
Edit : Anybody else get the feeling Ussop was inspired by this character?
In case no one noticed, btw :ninja:
So, will this Snaji's brother/father have eyebrows like this:
_) _)
inversed Sanji
Or like this:
(_ _)
normal ones
Decent chapter, Lola confirmed as Big Mom daughter and the new characters were cool.
I don't complain about breaks , but when the magazine has a break, why don't they coordinate those breaks with Oda schedule? I was expecting a break because I know they don't do that, but I wish they did.
A fair number of couples from my grandparents generation would address each other as father and mother, but only if they had kids. @Katzztar:
Unless she didn't marry him but instead one of his top men for some reason. Other wise… yes its odd to call your own husband as 'father'
Does Sanji's tea pot also have eyes? Are those sea slugs wearing hats with an antenna sticking out of them? Looks like the mad hatters style. The soldiers are like the Queen of Hearts' soldiers. That living door also brings to mind the living door knob from Alice in Wonder Land. Lola and Okami could be the Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum of this story. Maybe Oda's really is about to go full Disney.
I love the style of those wether dudes
So are Lola and Sanji have twins? Because Oda made enough sibling that weren't the blatant copy of one another to know he can more creative than that.
I wonder if the transforming robot could be Zephyr and the seagull would be Sengoku.Third one is a blank. All we know is he walk on seas, Kuzan does but I would imagine he wasn't the main character. Maybe Kong? I also took notice of the brave warrior of the sea title.
Considering the Lola twins being both under Big mom I'm gonna suppose every daughter is biologically linked to Big Mom.
Boat time with Luffy is as fun as ever but now he is dying? Seems like infiltrstion is already doom if they have to find a doctor and their ship have been recognized.
Huh, so it seems the Strawhats a reusing the Birdcage strings as fishing lines. Damn, those are strong!

I actually took the transforming robot to be a reference to Sengoku's Golden Buddha form. I'm just trying decide whether Sora is all Sengoku or a mix of Garp too.
Weren't the Weatheria guys real short before? I like to think that they're wearing stilts underneath those suits.
Also just generally digging the art and motifs of Big Mom's ship.

Thats a pretty good deduction if you ask me. Better than my idea of it being Aokiji.
Maybe Oda's really is about to go full Disney.
I think it's pretty obvious why Oda went with those designs for the notLola and notSanji; so they LOOK like Lola and Sanji. It's just so kids - early teens can put two and two together. With notLola he's basically preparing the ground for the "Lola is Big Mom's daughter" scene.
Who is this Sora:
He needs to walk on water, because he can't swim in it( df user). I'm thinking at Kizaru, even more with the Robots of Sora that sound just like the Pacifistas. Aldo the seagull can point at Sengoku..
Sanji vs Kizaru battle foreshadow I hope.
Imagine Germa 66 will capture SH and take them to Big Mom. Sanji will be forced now to marry Pudding or else BM will kill the SH she captured.
Considering Sanji still doesn't want to marry even now when he saw pudding is pretty.
I dunno what was funnier, the wizards of Weatheria looking like that or Luffy continuing to be incompetent when preparing/making food.
Yup and since Mama is food-related, I can imagine a few scene exploiting Luffy immunity/resilience to poison. Like some attempt on Mama life, blaming the SHs. Luffy eating their present/cake to proove it's not poisonus.
Kind of a scene from Asterix (image and explanations in french).
Now here's a question for everyone: Did the Germa 66*exist prior to the comic strip, or were they inspired by the comic strip?
Short but good chapter.
Assuming it's one of his 2 older brothers, it would be interesting to see if we meet the other one right now. As long as we don't see the two of them, that Killer theory will be alive.
And now that Lola being her daughter is basically confirmed by her sister's appearance, I guess it's easy to predict that when Nami will meet her she will use the Vivre card to confirm the obvious.
Now, I doubt that it will instantly make Big Mom forgive Luffy, but it will help.
As for the next arc, I'm starting to feel that the Vinsmoke family will betray Big Mom and that they will be the only enemy and not her crew. Actually, I'm thinking that the wedding is a trap made by Sanji's father. No idea about the motive but that's what my gut is telling me.

Could be all kinds of misunderstanding. Like Vinsmoke saving SHs from the wedding because their official gift is a trapped box. Instead of putting the SHs into danger like we first thought, it could be their way out.

probably the first one..otherwise vito's fixation with sanji wouldn't make sense if they were basically just cosplayer..if instead they were the real thing that inspired his childhood heroes creation, then it makes sense
LIVE 'REACTION' I GUESS?
! - Okay that cover page is adorable. Precious stylish old men. Nami what the heck did you do? They look so fabulous. Fuck.
! - Big Mom's Ship is adorable. Some Queen of Hearts bullshit going on here with those 'Soldiers' also the front ones face looks like Usopp.
! - What if rerorero dude is the actual brother of that asshole we ditched around Fishman Island? I detested him so much I forgot his name.
! - Robots? Badass hairstyles? Shit's about to get 100% crazier so that's like 100000% crazy already.
! - Rero dude is super enthusiastic and likely has fans already. Bless. Sanji looks so done.
! - That was a-door-able.
! - 'Friendly ribbing' clearly the definition of ribbing I know is entirely different to theirs…
! - YAY Lola lookalike so we got our confirmation and bless Sanji partially recognising her appearance...
! - Luffy what the fuck
! - Luffy went full nut reeling that in.
! - Those sea slugs are adorable what the heck.
! - Hot diggity damn need be s'more Vinsmoke family stuff.
probably the first one..otherwise vito's fixation with sanji wouldn't make sense if they were basically just cosplayer..if instead they were the real thing that inspired his childhood heroes creation, then it makes sense
Depends on how long the comic's existed and whether Vito himself knows or cared which came first. If Germa has been around for, at least, decades, it may even be a Chicken-and-Egg scenario
Oda's grandmother passed away, hence the break
Looks like the longheld theory of Lola being Big Mam's daughter is almost canon. And it actually explains why she is so eager to marry.

the vinsmoke were already a big deal when sanji was a child since the family managed to make the trip from north blue to the east blue, and brook already explained how it's not something you do without huge resources
Chapter seemed very rushed, only 13 pages and the art was sub-standard. Some of the drawings of Nami in the background of panels in particular were pretty bad. Still, OP has been on a roll of late so we were bound to get a bit of a clunker eventually.

Hence my starting point of decades.
Like I said, a lot would depend on how long the comic's existed. We have comics (strip and book alike) going back nearly a century. So I don't think it far fetched that the comic existed then and either inspired a group to be villains themselves or simply took their name in a Refuge in Audacity ploy that went on to stick. By that I mean guys took the name so when they attacked it would result in people calling for help from literal comic book villains. It's probably why the public at large (going by Nami) thought they didn't exist.
Alternatively, if Germa 66 existed first, maybe the comic was created as a way to diminish or cover up their threat.
I'm not wedded to any one theory, just a few thoughts they've his me.
Ichi or Niji. Speculate now
@zeff:
Oda's grandmother passed away, hence the break
link or source?
Ok so not Aokiji walking on water the but seagull hat wearing, giant metal golden Buddha transforming Sengoku. Apparently Buddha was known to walk on water as well.
That or some guy with the Jesus Christ fruit.
Edit: I already posted this.

Well, there is also the Cheshire Cat who's currently eating lasagna in Zou and a stowaway White Rabbit who hid herself onboard the Sunny. So yeah, definitely an Alice-themed arc.
I´m literally waiting for someone to do that with Jack, who is waiting for someone to get him outta the water
It would be hilarious if one of Sanji's brothers looks a ton like Zoro. Would explain a lot lol.
The comic strip is interesting. Are we overanalyzing it? Was it just a way for Oda to tell us that the Germa 66 have been the stuff of fairytales and comic strips for a long time, and marines used it for their own propaganda? Or the heroes are really based on real marines that fought the Germa 66 for reals?
Those henchmen all look awesome.
The ship is also awesome. The door panels were simple but cool. I love it when Oda has fun with these things. He doesn't need to, but he does.
Vito is weirdly cool so far, Oda usually does this "clingy" type characters a bit too obnoxiously, but Vito seems like he geniunely wants to get on Sanji's good side. Not much to say about this Gotti fella aside from, cool design? And I don't know if Lola's sister is supposed to be a Big Mom underling, a Capone underling, or what. I mean, being Capone's underling means both are true, but still. She seems to be fearsome enough.
Also cool that even after falling head over heels for Purin/Puding/Wathever, Sanji is still firm in his decision to not marry her. We'll get lots of heart eyes and nose bleeds and all that jazz, but I'm betting he'll stand by this idea. More power to him!
The stuff in the Sunny put a smile on my face through all of it, specially Mummy Luffy wanting turning to Chopper for some "emergency food supply". One Piece wouldn't be One Piece without these scenes.
Underwater Den Den Mushis. Never thought of that possibility, even though there are sea snails.
Germa ship incoming was absolutely unexpected. I'm guessing guy on Board is the first or second son of the Vinsmoke family, let's see what this encounter will bring to the table. A confrontation so early on, with the arc yet to be officialy started, would be weird. Also weird that they seemed to be specifically targeting the Sunny, like they knew they were coming. Common sense, considering their crewmate was snatched and they expected Luffy and co. to go to his rescue, or something else brewing on the Vinsmokes side?
Anyway, great chapter. I see people complaining about the length, but I found it jampacked with great stuff, enough to keep me satisfied till next one comes.
I´m literally waiting for someone to do that with Jack, who is waiting for someone to get him outta the water
Sebastian singing that to him the entire time would be a pretty good punishment.

no they were not short at all, more like they were tall (at least compared to Nami)
Looks like the longheld theory of Lola being Big Mam's daughter is almost canon. And it actually explains why she is so eager to marry.
Twist = While Lola is Big Mom's daughter, she is like Sanji = both don't care about some of the things the biological family does and went independent. That's why Lola wants to marry so bad, so Momma can't make her marry someone she doesn't like.

I'm assuming it's the seagulls foot and the other was chopped off during the cleaning and redrawing of the chapter.
What do you think it is?
