Says you haha no really my problem stems from the time I grew up and the clichés that were in school at the time. Buffy was a name for preppy gals. Only time I uncounted real people to have that name were preps (sometimes rich always stuck-up)
I was a head-banger (listened to Heavy Metal, wore leather and ripped jeans) Preps and Head-bangers did not get along at all. The rivalry was just as bad as what would exist between two high schools.
Haha, I see. Colour me surprised that girls (plural?) named Buffy actually exist. :P
In my case, being from a non-English speaking country I just never saw anything wrong with the name when I first saw the show. I mean, the others were called Xander and Willow. Everybody just had "exotic" overseas names.
And at this point it's so tightly linked to the series that I don't even see it as unusual anymore either.
In other news, I bought my ticket for Civil War the other day and I can hardly wait~
