Cool chapter! I liked the pannels of the minks suffering and the strawhats helping them. Makes you relate more to the whole situation.
Mabe the second person entering zou with Pekoms wil be Capone Bege? He could bring a whole army with him inside his body and surprise everybody.
He is on the ship with Tamago and Pekoms afterall. And it would be cool if Oda showed us how strong he has become after the time skip too.
I personally would love to see more of all the supernova's!
Chapter 811 : Roko

Yes, really.
If its so obvious that Jack is Luffys enemy in this arc then why Oda needs to additionally underline it with Luffy making promises.
To me it looks a bit like misleading. Mostly because we had that scenario - as you listed - a ton of times already.Did that stop Luffy from beating Mingo, when many people here claimed for him to be Law's boss fight? Or Hody, who could have been Jinbe's enemy, after all. There is no reason whatsoever for Oda to subvert his traditional MO this arc, especially when he had chances to do so in the past but hasn't.
-
Just some considerations:
- Pekoms go to Zou with only one nakama because he is very confident in his power or he knows Minks are aggressive with no-Minks
- he also doesn't want to create problems in his homeland
- after knowing StrawHats helped his tribe, maybe he considered a negotiation
-

That would all be assuming that he actually cares about his homeland.
-
Btw, Pekoms could be related to Catviper or Sicilian. Him and catviper are like 2 chubby cats, maybe son or brother?
-
Really? How much more clear does Oda need to make it that Luffy will beat Jack? Wanda basically says "The obituary is wrong, they never found the body, the guy is a monster and is 99% likely alive" and Luffy says "I will kick his and Kaido's asses!". Jack is the single villain of this arc, like Mr. 3 was for Little Garden, Wapol for Drum, Bellamy for Jaya, Foxy for Long Ring Long Land. No crew like Baroque Works or CP9 or New Fishman Pirates or Doflamingo Family. No helpers like Enel's pirests or Moriah's elite 3. It's more than obvious that Luffy will end up fighting Jack and even if he has help, like against Doffy, he will deliver the final blow.
That sounds impractical. Luffy beating kaido and his right hand man. Nope. Very unlikely to happen….if it is in the same arc atleast.
-
Damn BM is so persistant. She won't let CC go. I think during the full moon the minks go berserk, so it's prolly dangerous to stay close to them. They might be cute furries, but they're also warriors.
If Sanji volunteered to go with Pekoms and CC, or he just wanted to retrieve the latter I think the SHs will be forced to go after Sanji. Since he has no way of coming back. They might even split again. Jack is likely going to come back too, so once again it seems there's many plot lines happening at the same time.Just when we got hyped about Jack and Kaido Oda is shifting the focus again on BM, so we still don't know for sure which one the SHs will go after.
Maybe it's too early for them to go after Kaido.
-
Great chapter. I really liked seeing Chopper's determination and how he took charge of the scene.

@uniaka:

Cat Viper is a cat obviously, Sicilian looks like a lion to me. Pekoms is a mini lion lol.
Maybe it doesn't have much to do with the species, there's naturally feline minks without having them being related to each other. -
It would be shocker if during last week Jinbei joined Pekoms, Tamago and Bege on Big Moms ship and he is person that goes along with Pekoms.
Chances are slim but its Oda so who knows. It would help with Jinbei already taking care of bomb hidden in one of chests that BM pirates got from Strawhats. -
@jabso:

I see it as Jack being the preparation for Kaido. If Luffy can beat him maybe he has a better chance of beating Kaido.

Does it mean it has to be like that till end of One Piece ?

Unless they needed so many days just to repair their ship, they sure are slow. Even barto without a navigator only needed 7 days…

Maybe they went to Big Mom to drop cargo(treasure from Fishman Island) and then were sent after Cesar. We will probably get to know soon. They are well boiled New World veterans so they should have easy time getting from point A to B. I would bet they went to Big Mom after they failed to take Cesar from Swirlyhats hands.

Stop being racist. Not all lions have the same pride.
-
One of the better MangaStream efforts to be sure. Nothing too liberal this time around, yet some fun dialogue just the same. That is except for "BigMam". Why, MS, WHY?
Otherwise, that was a good wrap-up. Sheepshead was so much a scrub here, it's not even funny (okay, it was pretty funny). Also another great Nami moment here that went beyond simply kicking someone's ass. In addition, it has been way too long since she ever even tried to physically engage an opponent.
Either Sanji offered himself to join BM to save the crew or he got his ass kicked by Pekoms and grabbed Caesar along with him..
It's pretty much just that. He either surrendered because Pekoms and/or Tamago were too much to handle or he willingly pretended to join them for some reason or another. It's almost certain they have Caesar and I'm willing to bet his heart is no longer in Sanji's possession.
-
Yeah….im gonna go ahead and say Sanji was defeated lol
no, isn t Obvious, he made a deal with bigmum and is being her cook for a while
-
In a contest of ruthlessness, who do you think would win, Big Mam or Kaido?
-
Yes, really.

To me it looks a bit like misleading. Mostly because we had that scenario - as you listed - a ton of times already.Oda has been doing that shit since God knows when. He's not exactly that subtle and is known for being very obvious sometimes.
You're just seeing a red herring when there's no reason for one to be there. Oda loves his setups and foreshadowings.
When Luffy says that's he's gonna beat somebody, he means it.
Does it mean it has to be like that till end of One Piece ?
There's a bunch of writing patterns Oda has been using since East Blue and still uses to this day.
-

We can say that Sanji one-shotted Sheepshead who looked to me like somebody in waker Supernova tier - like Caribou who was also One-shotted by Pekoms.
I would say that Sheepshead reminds me of Scotch from Kaidos crew when it comes to strength, not really big name but somebody who still gotten some role and was acknowledged as capable. If Oda will play "I will underestimate on of Strawhats" card using Pekoms then it can go very well.
Pekoms can say that he will deal with Sanji solo and he will get burned(literally) then after half chapter long fight of Pekoms and Sanji we will get to point where Sanji is about to deal certain KO finishing kick and then Tamago butts in into their fight saving Pekoms and stopping Sanji while saying that he seems rather very well boiled pirate.
^
My dream scenario. This way we could hype Sanji, hype Tamago to be in tier of people like Jack and also with Pekoms "underestimating Sanji" we would still be eagerly waiting for Sanjis next fight with Yonko commander. Sanji needs some justice and Oda said Sanji will come back BIG WAY- I am almost certain that he will beat Pekoms or get very very close to it.Oda has been doing that shit since God knows when. He's not exactly that subtle and is known for being very obvious sometimes.

Thats all the reason for hoping for breaking at least some of them.
-
@Gin:
So now Luffy will go and kick big mom ass and save Sanji
if sanji was able to write a letter,he was not took down..he probably flew away with caesar to avoid him getting into mama's hands..
the inability to come back is because there's no way to return to zhou thorugh normal meanings -
Luffy can always find Sanji with Nami's vivre card. Assuming it's pointing at Big Mom's.
Plus we have Jinbe. -
Thats all the reason for hoping for breaking at least some of them.
It's one thing to hope for something. Predicting it is another. You can hope that Oda breaks the pattern, but after seeing such blatant clues, you shouldn't talk as if there's a good chance it's actually gonna happen…
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
@jabso:
That sounds impractical. Luffy beating kaido and his right hand man. Nope. Very unlikely to happen….if it is in the same arc atleast.
Nobody said it would be in the same arc, although Luffy has beaten 2 foes in the same arc before (Blueno and Lucci). Jack goes down in Zou, Kaido goes down in Wano (assuming that's the base of the Hundred Beast Pirates).
-
Either Sanji offered himself to join BM to save the crew or he got his ass kicked by Pekoms and grabbed Caesar along with him..
There're other possibilities. Here's my guess:
-
Pekoms and BM know the Marine is offering a reward for Sanji, alive!
-
BM has also a big interest in certain pirate who is very much loved by BM, namely, his dear daugther Jewerley Boney, who eats as much as her Mom (a theory already pointed, still nor confirmed, which is connected with Akainu being really interested on Boney).
-
So, since the reward was known some days ago, BM and Pekoms are interested in making an exchange of Sanji for Jewerley Boney, that's why they took Sanji prisioner.
and…
- The reason why Sanji is wanted alive is related to some event recently discovered and related to his birth which is that...
! as, Sabo, he's the lost son of a world noble…
-
-
so..now we have a separate force in the "throne wars" being sanji+caesar?
he has not been taken hostage,he wouldn't have left a letter if that was the case and the thing would have been stated much sooner by the strawhats..nami was worring because even IF sanji wants to come back to them,he has no means to,since you can't relocate zhou..which is something that seems to indicate that sanji was in a real hurry when he left, since he should have been able to figure out this himself…although he didn't had much chance anyway.the point is,if given the choice, would mama renounce to his vengeance to the strawhats to get caesar?
the answer might be pekoms, grateful for them saving his compatriots@Ukimix:There're other possibilities. Here's my guess:

sanji being hostage on big mom's ship doesn't make sense given what we know..nami and the others would have pointed it out the second the other guys are on the island, instead their main problems with luffy's calm was that sanji has no real way to come back een if he wants to and that he did leave for a precise reason
ATM the best solution seems sanji grabbing caesar and fleeing from zou since the scientist was the main objective from the beginning

Also, remember that Capone is on the ship. If he also departed onto the island, Sanji's chances probably diminished to near zero. Especially if other strong members of the crew showed up hidden within Capone, catching Sanji by surprise.
-
Pretty sure Jack's beating is not for this arc.
I wonder what happened between Sanji and Big mom's pirates.
-
@Mr.:

Well Capone should get pretty grand scene with showing off how much force now he gathered inside of himself.
Sanji will not be used for that scene. I have feeling that Capone will betray Big Mom at one point and then we will see power that he holds now.
-
Oh boy so Sanji is with Big Mom it seems
-
Oh boy so Sanji is with Big Mom it seems
wouldn't the other strawhat said that immediately if that was the case?
-
So Sanji not return isn't that he didn't want to return. He literally CAN'T if he lost the vivre card. Sanji can fly and so CC.
still wonder why "alive only" is about. It can't be about cc cause they can kill sanji and just grab it if the gov. wants him that much.
wouldn't the other strawhat said that immediately if that was the case?
Right, it seems serious but not yet life and death. If it were then Luffy would've declared war with big mam on the spot and left for them.
-
Concerning the debate about who is Big Mom's daughter : it could also be that Lola and Bonney are sisters!
-
God bless Ceasar, he never disappoints. Every face he makes is avatar material.
-
I really didn't expect big mom ship to follow them. i'm really curious how the whole sanji disappearance relates to big mom.
Big Mom didnt follow them. It was mentioned that Pekoms landed on Zou two days ago. Also the Curlyhats damaged their ship in the counterattack so they couldn't follow the Curlyhats right away. I think all the natives from Zou(like Pekoms) have an internal compass that allows them to find their way back no matter where Zou is located. It's just like birds when they migrate.
On another note I think Pekoms himself told Sanji about his Only Alive status out of gratitude when Pekoms learned of the Curlyhats saving the mink population from Jack. It sounds to me if Kaido and Big Mom could clash in the near future because of Caesar, but I have confidence in Oda that he will not allow Luffy to defeat a weakened Yokou since that is not in Luffy's character. Now we have to wait three long weeks before we find out the status of Sanji possibly.
-
Aw this chapter was such a tease.
-
JC, full moon?! There is hopefully no hidden Sayajin around. :ninja:
Big Mom is aware of the fact that Sanji is an excellent cook. Everyone was 2 days ago weakend + BM's Mainship with a lot commanders, IMO, appeared. The desperate situation was obvious. He joined BM's Crew and took Caesar with him, to save his Friends, the Minks and Zou himself.
Is it possible that we ll have another break after Ch. 812? -

he is away, but he is NOT in danger, which is something being taken hostage of a yonkou clearly implies -
Nice theory. I really like it
Thanks. On another note I just spotted Momosoduke(sp?) in one of those pages where the Curlyhats were treating the minks. Thankfully he was in his dragon form at the time.
Edit: Here's the page I'm talking about. http://readms.com/r/one_piece/811/3140/14

Aw this chapter was such a tease.
It is. I'm almost tempted to think Oda deliberately took that one extra break at the beginning of the month the ensure the fate of Sanji is teased throughout the entire holiday break schedule.

Nami was pretty awesome in this chapter. -
Pretty sure Jack's beating is not for this arc.
I wonder what happened between Sanji and Big mom's pirates.
There's too much build up for it to happen later, I mean there's too much vested in the defeat of jack to have him fall in the same arc as kaido
Kaido needs some build up as an enemy we can dislike or have reason to cheer against and at the time the audience is full of dislike for jack.
Blueno was just a powerful mini boss, he didnt have any story and if he had this much than lucci's defeat would carry less weight IMO
-
Damn Oda is going to Big Mom to Kaidou so many times I don't even know what will come next, if Sanji is taken to Big Mom I expect Jinbe to help him, seems we are probably going to follow Sanji in the next chapters.
I hope its Big Mom since I'm tired of Oda splitting the crew up and Jinbe story with Big Mom can also be finished there.
Lol now Luffy is serious about Sanji :).
-

Oh, good call. I forgot about Jimbei's "unfinished business" so perhaps we will see the beginning of his reunion with the crew in the coming months.
At any rate, I think the narratives of the Big Mom group and Kaido group are going to overlap as things go on.
-
Sanji/Jinbe buddy cop team-up is a go.
Kaido's mad scientist and a chef. This may be Big Mom's year instead of Sanji. This is an interesting way to tie things back to Big Mom who I assumed would be taken out before Kaido. Either way there's a lot of back a forth going on in the story. Between Jack, Kaido, Big Mom, Sanji, Wano, the Revs VS BB pirates, Reverie just to name a few, we are getting an insane amount of step-up. Something has to give, something huge has to happen soon to release some of the story pressure.
Sanji is becoming her personal chef after all. XD
He probably thinks she's a MILF. I pray he thinks she's a MILF.
-
He probably thinks she's a MILF. I pray he thinks she's a MILF.
Lol, yes. There are a lot of ways to interpret BIG MOM.

well it has been clear since the beginnign of the new world saga that MANY things are now overlapping as opposed to pre-rimeskip where we had a lot of self-contanined arc
and the impression was amplified by the dofla speech at the end of dressrosa..many players in a big chessboard interacting together..the big question is towards what..another war?a series of wars?who knows…
-
I really enjoyed this chapter! Things are developing really nicely. Plus, Pekoms became one of my favorite characters since we first saw him, and now we can finally know why Sanji left!

interesting! I like the theory about the minks having an internal compass since the log pose do not point to zou. I didnt pay attention to the 2 days ago thing thanks for the clarification.

I like the theory, too. It fits with the fact that the two groups we can be somewhat sure navigated to Zou without aid like a Vivre Card both had minks among them.
