I was expecting the new mini-adventures to be based around a character like Bellamy, or Don Saï, or even Vergo / Monet, but apparently, we'll be having an "around the world tour". It's a good way to show what's happening in the One Piece universe without interfering with the flux of the story so I'm okay with that. I would like to see Zeff's reaction to Sanji's new poster, or Kaya's (along with Carott, Onion and… Pepper ?) reaction to Usopp's.
We now have the confirmation that what produces the electricity is a weapon (a glove), however, it seems like other minks can produce electricity without a weapon, like Rody (the bull), for example. You guys have written some well-built theories about that (like fur friction, for example). Also, could this "electric ability" be linked to the following :
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galvanism
! In biology, galvanism is the contraction of a muscle that is stimulated by an electric current. >> The following has been tested on dead animals by Luigi Galvani. In an earlier post, I stipulated that Jack's men could need the Minkmen's bodies in order to create Zoan Smiles, due to the lack of corpses in the city.
! In physics and chemistry, it is the induction of electrical current from a chemical reaction, typically between two chemicals with differing electronegativities.
I guess this suits the electric gloves case better. ?
(probably me going too far. )
The Mink's abilities are inspired from the physical properties of the animals they're inspired from ; for example, Carrot jumps really high because she's half rabbit, and Wanda licks peoples faces for the sake of furry porn ! Because, well, she's half dog. Same thing for the gorilla and the bull. This could be really cool if exploited correctly in-fights, which I am sure Oda-san will do.
The way Zoro, Franky and Robin trust Sanji warmed up my heart quite a bit. Especially Zoro ; he is no doubt a honorable man. Now, let's hope Sanji didn't mess up.
If Law didn't expect to see his crew ever again, it implies that he was expecting to die against Doflamingo ? Which confirms that the main goal of the Alliance was to defeat Doflamingo (and many people disagree on that).
Bepo's past must surely be interesting. Was he recruited in the same circumstances as Jean-Bart (him being a slave set free by Law) ?
Speaking of Jean-Bart… Oh man. I laughed real hard when he got stomped by that gorilla. And speaking of which, the Guardians + Law's crew (quite a small crew... 4 members ? I was expecting there to be a bit more. But hey, less characters = less character development = good) seem to be injured. The Gorilla has a broken arm. So they fought against the ones that destroyed the place, right ?
And what is it that they're protecting ? Some think that it could be a Poneglyph, but Poneglyph's are indestructible (though it could just be sacred for them).
Did the Swirly Hats fight with them too ? They seem to have tied some links with Wanda since she knows who they are (and even darkens up a little when hearing Sanji's name... not good :ninja:). So I'm guessing Nami gave her her clothes ? But why ?
What happened to the Swirly Hats ? Killed ? Severely injured ? Sleeping (/ or any other stupid gag) ? Brook's abilities (as some speculated) ?
Man, the arc barely started and yet there are so much mysteries. That's why One Piece is so great. And still some "fans" say that it's boring… Geez.
The beginning of the arc reminds me Skypiea, for the adventurous part, but I've talked about that last week on the chapter 804 thread.
Yet another cliffhanger... Really hyped for the next chapter.
miscellaneous :
- Carott reminds me someone but I don't remember who…
- Dogs lick other dog's faces as a sign of friendship, by the way
- I didn't understand the part when Luffy says that "he was surrounded". Were there Minks hidden everywhere around him ? Ready to attack ? If someone could clear that out for me I would be very thankful.
