LOL, Level 5 is making Fantasy Life 2…exclusively for IOS/Android
NOPE
-
Layton going mobile is what piques my interest regarding Level 5's announcements. They could do a lot of cool things with that.
-
Well they did say layton 6 would be the last professor layton game and looks like they are keeping their word
-
@Purple:
There's really zero incentive for me to get a New 3DS other than Xenoblade. And I ain't forkin over $240 just to play one game.
Monster Hunter 4 ultimate pretty much requires either the CPP or New 3DS. I'd hate to not have second stick camera control for that game
-
Also i hear binding of Isaac rebirth only works on the new 3ds. I know it's on steam but if anyone was thinking of getting it portable like i was there you go.
-

I'm all set with my CPP, so yeah, another reason why I don't feel inclined to get a new 3DS.
and Binding of Isaac portable is not a particularly compelling offer either. Like there's really no reason to upgrade other than Xenoblade Chronicles being limited to that platform.
-

Awww, is that right?
Man I need to catch up. I haven't finished Miracle Mask and I never got Azran Legacy or Last Specter….

Last Specter was alright but Azran Legacy was super disappointing. They tried to do something new with the gameplay in regards to player choice but it ultimately hurt the story which is a shame.

Played both? Or speaking just from a speculative standpoint?

Ever played the Layton Brothers game on mobile? This is probably unrelated since the game itself is hardly anything like the PL puzzle-centric games, but I find it good in it's own right.

Ehh… its manageable without the CPP (I played 3 ultimate on the normal 3ds without much problems) you just have to tap the L button a lot lol.
Though it really helps when there's two monsters in the same quest and 4u has a lot of those type of quests. -

I've been just fine without a second stick. Like Smiley said, the Target Cam comes in handy. I've also gotten very proficient with the giant D-pad on the bottom screen. The camera was horrific in the waters of MH3 though….shudder

I think this is the first time sega have given us a global announcement for these. Not only that, but with the western releases already dated.
Games must be doing well outside of Japan, which bodes well for the future of the line

It seems I have a "fan" on miiverse. Check the comments.
https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHjnqkmg6AAnd he sent me a "friend" request, saying I have an circumsized "d1ck" and a "gay butt kun". Awesome, it's good to see people be so juvenile for no reason.

Amiibo are live on nitendo uk store. Managed to get Zero suit samus, ganondorf and palutena. Dark pit was really tempting but i have pit and i can't really waste all my money on these things :P

I remember a friend of mine had all of those Battle Network games and I wondered why he bought the same thing over and over.
-
I've been waiting for number 3 because i hear it is the best one
-
It is the best one. My opinion of the BN series is objectively proven through rigorous, scientific testing, and Battle Network 3 is top tier battle network.
Conversely, 4 kinda really sucks
-
Battle Network 4 is quite possibly the shittiest game to ever carry the Megaman brand on it.
Oh, and emulations of it are absolutely broken and won't let you progress past a certain point without hacking.
-
Kind of curious but why is Battle Network 4 the worst of the worst?
-
Kind of curious but why is Battle Network 4 the worst of the worst?
Oh, oh, I know this one!
It's because BN4 largely eschews the unique dungeons of the other games in favor of a greater number of repetitive quests through the regular net, which rarely involve useful shortcuts and thus require lots of backtracking. A good portion of the characters are only featured in tournaments, which make up a large portion of the game, meaning that we have foes with mini-arcs instead of villains with memorable arcs. The games also focused too much on the good/evil idea of the soul and had a villain who basically did things for the evulz. Worst of all, instead of a solid postgame you could instead replay the entire game up to four times, and you had to do it at least three times in order to unlock all the Soul Unisons. That means even MORE backtracking through boring areas.
Admittedly, BN4 did introduce some good things, like Full Synchro, Soul Unisons, and, depending on your perspective, Dark chips (never cared for them myself). I would say that 3 is my favorite, followed by 5, 6, and lastly 4. I never played the first two but I hear that 3 is more polished without losing its way.
-
Dark Chips are p interesting when you can soul unison. Less so when the game keeps defaulting to dark chips as soon as your health is within range to use them as well as the whole permanently decrease your HP by 1 thing. And inhibiting your full synchro.
Like, there really isn't much incentive to use dark chips in BN4 at all.
-
Regal is such a shitty villain that SomethingAwful has an actual smiley dedicated to how vacantly evil he was.
-
Battle Network 4 basically squandered all of the momentum the series had built up at that point. If you looks at the series' sales, it's hilarious how front-loaded 4's are, and you could even argue that that game was the ultimate beginning of the franchise's downfall. It introduced a whole bunch of half-baked ideas, and the good stuff it retained from the older titles was really, really watered down. The only fun part of the game was how hilariously broken the Air Hockey chips were if you had a light Megaman (which you should, because there's literally no reason to use Dark Chips in that game).
I did a text-based LP of it close to two years ago if anyone wants to skim through it and see me steadily lose my mind.
-
Also, the classic SA LP of 4 is amazing: http://lparchive.org/Mega-Man-Battle-Network-4-6/

The same holds true for Star Force; 2 was so goddamn mediocre that it murdered the series before it could really take off.
-
Finally got a Jigglypuff and Greninja Amiibo preorder from EB Games Australia. Huzzah!
-

Yeah, I did an LP of that game too. At least in Star Force 2's case the gameplay was competent, even though it featured one of the most broken, unbalanced battle systems ever, albeit entirely in the player's favor.

BN2 is better. No damn internet fires in that one.
-
yay! I secured my Ness amiibo finally! for only $23
yesasia.com is where I found it. Now I just need to secure a jigglypuff
-
Hey that's pretty good. Especially with the bonus of not giving Gamestop or scalpers money. I'm still waiting for Splatoon amiibos to go up places.
-
BN2 is better. No damn internet fires in that one.
Instead it made you run all over creation doing fetchquests for hours, all to fight a really crappy, easy boss (Freezeman).
But seriously, both of those games were aces. The disparity in quality between those two titles and the fourth game is just shocking. Thank goodness they got their act together for the sixth game.
-

But does BN2 have Bowlman???
But fo serious, reminiscence time:
-
How's Mega Man and Bass supposed to be? Thanks to the Mega Man Anniversary Collection (along with 9 and 10), it's the only classic Mega Man platformer that I don't have access to yet, but I've heard that the GBA version has some downsides (I think it's related to the screen size), and I think some of the content is recycled from Mega Man 8, but I'm not sure about that last one.

BN3 had better story as a whole, a better secret area and the navi customizer.
But BN2 had better net design, better music and not as much padding. And no damn tournaments.
But yeah, atleast the last game was decent enough. Seemed a little pointless, storywise, but eh it was allright.
@Purple:

Yeah well Gateman is way more fun than Punk.
A stupid, no chip giving, pain in the ass is what he is.

True that Gateman's better than Punk (only up to Beta version? wtf man?)
But I feel that BN3 was superior in the points you mentioned, but to each his own.
-
For me the undernet in BN2 was just so damn amazing that it goes straight to the top in the design category.
That and i just hate beach area, and all areas where you had to use the press program in BN3.
-
Press Program is honestly the one big flaw of BN3
But everything else is just so damned polish and great that I think the whole experience is just so super duper
-
Damnit capcom.. Why the closest thing to a good battle network after it's time was Transistor? There's another deck building based action combat game out there?
Should we build one.
-
So I started playing BN2 today after seeing the high praise it got and holy hell do I hate Quickman.
-

That and bubbleman, and the endless, annoying backtracking through the press maze.
Serenade was great thought. Best secret area of all the games.

Quickman is a pain because at that point you got shit all in your folder.
But just nail him with shockwaves down the center, he'll speedwalk right in to them most of the time.

I narrowly beat him the first time but ran into V2 twice exploring Koto area. That didn't go well.
I'm also noticing that several chips got stronger from BN 2 to BN 3, like Shockwave and Bubbler. The charge shot got better too. I missed having it for the first few hours.
-
BN3 has probably my favorite iteration of Bass.exe in the franchise.

Ooh, here's some more info on the Fire Emblem concert in July:

I'm so eternally sad I won't be able to make this concert, it sounds fantastic, and it's a shame the series gets celebrated in Japan only. :
Being a Nintendo fan in the states can really suck sometimes. -
I don't think they announce things at concerts.
