anyone know what to do with a gamepad that has a crack inside of the screen? Do i just mail it to Nintendo to fix? Do i only send the pad? Should I just call Nintendo? I can't even add my new wifi to the system, so it currently has no internet

Streetpass was crazy today. 7 people, one was from Australia, one from the UK, I saw a Splatoon and Yarn Yoshi hat on two miis (they're prizes already? I want!), and someone was playing….Nintendo Anime Channel? Wait that's a thing?
looks up
For only episodes of Kirby, Pokemon, and....Inazuma Eleven??? Huh?

Inazuma Eleven is popular here in Europe.

I see that's all part of International Streetpass Week, which explains the locations. But….those mii hats....
Inazuma Eleven is popular here in Europe.
I'm surprised, since it's not an Nintendo property. (F-Zero anime would be pretty sweet to have)

More details about Splatoon, summarized from an IGN article:
! > Battle Dojo
– Battle Dojo: 1v1 offline multiplayer versus mode
– Pop balloons in Battle Dojo
– A column of colored rings indicates where a set of inflated targets will spawn
– The player with the highest score at the end of five minutes wins
– The point value doubles in the later moments of a match
– There ate special moves as a potential X factor
– Wooden crates have surprise abilities to dominate your rival
– Need to use these abilities right away
– Not all of the special moves seen in multiplayer show up in this mode
– The first player to score 30 points wins (basically a mercy rule)
amiibo
– Inkopolis has an empty amiibo box
– Scan amiibo by the container to summon one of the three characters onto the pedestal
– You’ll see a list of trials and potential rewards after scanning figures
– Get gold or amiibo-only equipment from certain missions
Divide between online/offline modes
– The shopkeepers plus their gear are a big part of the online multiplayer package
– If you’re not connected to the Internet, you cannot buy anything to customize your character
– Seems like Nintendo will send out new gear over time that provides both a unique look and useful utility
– Single-player has its own sets of gear
– Also has a separate form of currency called Power Eggs, which beefs up your gear
– Miss out on some gear if you’re playing offline
– Producer Hisashi Nogami:
“There isn’t a gear or equipment link between single-player and multiplayer. So, it’s not that you earn money in single player to then spend in multiplayer. Instead, the link is more focused on skill. You practice your controls and develop skills in single player and then you can take those with you into multiplayer.”
Other
– No custom match types with friends like Smash Bros.
– Adjust specific user settings for look sensitivity controls before or after a match

-
Okay, I assume this means there are no special configuration options when playing with friends vs. playing with others. And NOT what I originally thought when I read the sentence which is that you can't create matches with friends.
When I first read it, I feared the latter worst option too, but the full text from IGN is:
The last thing that stood out to us was user customization. Splatoon doesn’t offer custom match types with friends like Smash Bros. Specific user settings for look sensitivity controls can only be adjusted before (or after) a match. So if you’ve set one too high (or too low) you’ll have to jump out in order to make adjustments. It feels slightly backwards for an action shooter released in 2015.
So it definitely seems to be the former.

Nintendo publishes Level 5 games here in Europe not sure about North America, but if they have the rigths they probably get the rights for the anime also.

Oh wow. Best Buy has a Splatoon-Wii U bundle coming out.
http://mynintendonews.com/2015/04/21/get-a-splatoon-wii-u-bundle-exclusively-at-bestbuy/It's funny, really. When Splatoon comes out, I'll have my Wii U exactly one year, which I got with the Mario Kart 8 bundle. XD

In honor of Fire Emblem's 25th birthday, all eShop and Virtual Console Fire Emblem games are 25% off for the next week…in Japan. That includes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8 for Wii U and 1 and 13 for 3DS.
No idea why 6, the Tellius games, and the remakes aren't available, or why 7 and 8 aren't available for handheld.

Speaking of Fire Emblem, some new details for If:
http://mynintendonews.com/2015/04/29/heres-some-new-fire-emblem-for-nintendo-3ds-details/-
Hoshido has a world map.
-
Nohr has more complex maps. Besides the usual “defeat all of the enemies”/”defeat the general” maps, there will also be suppression, breakthroughs, defending bases, turn restrictions, amongst others. There are lots of map gimmicks. (We’ve already seen dragon’s vein.)
-
Both versions of the game contain the same characters. You’ll be shown different aspects of their personalities in accordance to the route you select.
-
The downloadable version does not contain both sides. It does not lock the other route when you select one. You pay to receive everything up until chapter five, and once you make a decision, you will have to download everything from chapters six, onward, for the respectful route. The second download is free because you have already paid. If you want to try the alternative version, you have to buy DLC in the same way those with physical copies will.
-
You can also save directly to your 3DS system (versus the cartridge).
-
If you decide to buy the DLC, you can load your chapter 5 data and continue from that
-
instead of starting from the beginning. Of course, you can restart if you’d like to.
-
You’ll be able to experience an entire story by only playing one route. The other is a completely different story.
-
The third path is in the middle of Hoshido and Nohr in terms of difficulty. People who began with Hoshido should still be able to complete the third path.
-
You’ll be able to lower the difficulty in the middle of the game if you find Nohr too hard.
-
You’ll still be able to connect with people who play the alternative version. (Probably means you can streetpass someone with Nohr despite playing Hoshido, and vice versa.)
-
There will be various perks for connecting with other players.
-
-
Hmmm yes I see, very interesting. My thoughts:

See, this is why the argument of "I hate on-disc DLC because I bought the disc, therefor I have full rights to everything on the disc!" doesn't work for me.
It's because, by that logic, there's nothing wrong with this. Oh, sure, nothing is locked behind any sort of wall on that game you bought. It's just that you have to pay to download the other stuff, which was all developed ahead of time. But you can't complain any longer, because nobody is "locking data that you paid for" from you!
To me, the argument should have always hinged on whether or not the company should be obligated to deliver the full extent of their pre-release efforts with the base game. It makes no difference to be whether I have to pay to "unlock" things that were already on-disc, or whether I have to pay to download things that are already on the eshop, the point is that I expected to get 100% of a game, and instead found that I bought 75% of a game and had to pay again for the other 25% (in an example of day-1 dlc done wrong)
Though I want to state that I'm not slamming FE:if for this (yet) because I don't know the size of each campaign. From what they're saying, it sounds large. If one path has about as much content as Awakening, and then the 2nd and 3rd just add to that, then there's nothing to complain about.
-
Speaking of Fire Emblem
Seems like the details about the varied Nohr objectives are really the only new announcements. Most of the other stuff seems to be just confirmations or clarifications. The part about being able to load from Chapter 5 is nice if you want to use the exact same crew or you can't be bothered to play five early chapters. I'm a bit annoyed though that the third path is the middle difficulty and not the hardest. No news on if it has a world map too?
"Suppression," huh? Sounds like we'll be doing some unsavory things for Nohr while we figure out our moral compass. Looking forward to it.
-
It would be intersting if at some point in Nohr we had one of those political struggles like the ones we see in Kingdom.
-

Yea, it's hard to judge anything since from what they say it's more like they made two different Fire Emblem games based on the same story and universe, and give people the choice of which they want to play. It's like if instead of releasing one and then releasing the other as a gaiden game, they just give you the option of both from the beginning. In that sense it's hard to see it as price gouging and content locking of the capcom sort, and instead more like ORAS, except in this one one sucks/is easy, and the other one rocks.
-
Its pretty crazy that they said if Awakening didnt do well it would probably by the last fire Emble, now they go the Pokemon way with double version, they release trading card game, etc thats a pretty big shift from this might be the last to, lets milk this as much as possible.

More Fire Emblem is never bad.
So long as they don't structure another game like Radiant Dawn ever again, Intelligent Systems can go wild.
-
I'm still not pleased at the two versions thing, but I suppose, given the context of the game…
When Iwata said your actions will affect the game, did he mean looking in the store, seeing both versions on the rack, and picking one? XD
In that sense it's hard to see it as price gouging and content locking of the capcom sort, and instead more like ORAS, except in this one one sucks/is easy, and the other one rocks.
Aren't we being a tad presumptuous?
I'm all for tougher difficulties and a challenge, and Nohr is looking very appealing with its more varied map goals, but I think it's very unfair to declare the Hoshido path "sucks" because the difficulty is less than that of Nohr (if I'm reading your post right. If not, disregard this)
Can't one enjoy the path because of the story, characters, and map aesthetics? Difficulty has subjectivity (to an extent), so "easy" in this context could mean ridiculously unchallenging for player A, but "okay, this isn't too bad, I think I can handle this" for player B.
But I do think Nohr seems to have more to offer. Oh what the heck, I'm playing all 3 routes no matter what.

I'm way more interested in Nohr, but it seems to me like Hoshido will have an edge in multiplayer/StreetPass due to the ease of grinding. Nohr probably has some sort of post-game mode where you can train people up but I wouldn't be surprised if Hoshido's potential for more green numbers drew experienced players in addition to the perceived casual audience.

Maybe some more info on the single player campaign, and HOPEFULLY news Splatoon amiibo will be in abudance to promote the game. …..I can dream, right?

It IS presumptuous, but that's pretty much because of the type of Fire emblem I like. I disliked awakening's map and grinding with a passion, so hoshido having that for me makes it immediately inferior to me. I don't think it objectively will suck more, I'm sure it will have it's merits and some people will like it more.
But still, all things consider I just find more joy in going all out Nohr and dissing Hoshido as much as possible.

#ForNohryWell, having a map is not synonymous with grinding, as there is the possibility the map won't function in the same way Awakening did, that is, you could pick different paralogues and stuff but not have random and constant bad guy scuffles. Maybe IS will cut down on grinding?
…anyways, I'm eager to play both sides. For fun and for Nohry. ;)

The Glorious Nippon Steel game will be filled with elements from good FEs (7, Stones, Radiance, Awakening), while the Filthy Occidental Frank Imperialist Dog game will be filled with elements from bad FEs (basically the rest, specially mention to Thracia 776, Roy's game, and everything related to Marth.)
For example, in Fire Emblem Alpha Hoshido, you can use units as much as you like and everyone is perfectly usable. There is an Oifey but no Jeigan, just like basically every Fire Emblem since 7.
Meanwhile, in Fire Emblem Omega Nohr, you can only use units two chapters in a row before they must rest, and everyone is about as good as Meg. There is an actual Jeigan character, and they're not mounted (mounted units must also dismount indoors, receiving halved stats.)

What didn't you like in RD?
-
What didn't you like in RD?
It was pretty much mean it to explain things that Path of Radiance didn't answered anyway.
-
Radiant Dawn is not a bad fire emblem, if there's anything infamous about it it's how vicious it is. I dare say it's more likely Nohr will be more like radiant dawn than any other Fire emblem.
-
I enjoy watching how Nintendo is campaigning for the two differently. Hoshido is beautiful, accessible, classic, righteous, and adventurous. Nohr is more complex, more challenging, and more creative.
Seems to me like Hoshido has felt like the favorite child so far, so it's nice to see IS pumping of the publicity for Nohr. #NohrMercy!
-

So the first half of the game is meaningless and 2/3 of the roster is unusable for most of the game?
And the only 'vicious' parts of RD were the parts where you were forced to use the Dawn Brigade when the game is throwing pre-promotes at you with abandon (the rest of the game can be solved with liberal application of Haar and Ike, which to be fair was basically PoR after Ike promotes.) Shit, I think the only reason the Black Knight shows up in that fog of war mission with the constant laguz hordes was the dev team realizing way too late that they fucked up the balance bad.
-
I did that 3DS MiiPlaza update, and now my system is saying that it can't find my previously plaid for Plaza games on the SD card. The little bunny says he knows I paid for them and that I can re-download them, but I'm afraid I'll lose all my data if I do that. I was on the last stage of Warrior's way, and had completed Flower Town and Monster Manor. Mii Force was finished in the story mode but I didn't care to go for the challenges.
I mean, my Mii is still wearing the hat I got from beating Monster Manor, so the system HAS to know that I completed it already right? Has anyone heard of this happening to anyone else?
-
I have not heard of this problem through updating, only through system transfer. Sure you didn't accidentally put them in the new vault.
As for the Radiant Dawn issues it is very vicious. I wouldn't say it is bad at all and i actually like the chapter formula. It forces me to use every unit which is something only the map based games had done previously. It is also nice to see the point of view from 3 different sides. The problem with the dawn brigade become useless except for Sothe and Michaia is definitely apparent but they are also pretty boring characters so why you would want to use them after the greil mercenaries reappear i don't know. Radiant dawn has that really cool countdown mission though where everyone is involved and fights each other until the last arc begins.
