Shadow Clone Jutsu?
Naruto's signature technique? preceded the Rasengan?
Iruka didn't teach him that.
He learned shadow clone from the forbidden scroll, on his own. They were only teaching kids normal clone jutsu which is no more than an image.

Its still played an important part in their relationship.

True but Iruka did repeatedly teach Naruto on how to perform the basic version and watched him fail before Naruto decided to learn the more advanced version of the technique, which he somehow got right?
Thinking about it retrospectively that is too convenient.

Well, it's possible that learning normal clone jutsu laid in the groundwork which made it easier for Naruto to understand the more advanced version.
But yeah, always thought it was too convenient how he just read the scroll and managed to perform it perfectly. If it was so easy for him to learn shadow clone by reading, why doesn't he have a richer arsenal of jutsu?
Because he learns by experience, by his own admission, as he has done every time he learned a new jutsu in the series.
I would have liked Naruto so much more if the main character learned more than 4 jutsu. I remember realizing he's not gonna learn any sweet wind jutsu at some point, but I can't remember when. Also, it was funny how the elemental affinities and their interaction didn't even matter in the final fight.

Was it four?
Seeing as how every jutsu he uses is a either a tweak of his two signature attacks or a combination of them.

Ignorant strikes again.
LOL at:
-Itachi ranking higher than Sasuke
-Only one female character on the list

I counted cloning, transformation, rasengan and summoning.
Of course if we're generous, we could break cloning into 2, break transformation into his sexy, perverted and copy jutsus, add all the rasengan variations and each individual summon he can make. Too tired to count.
Then we have power ups, fox mode and sage mode. Can he do body substitution with logs? Don't think we saw that from him.
Bonus jutsu - Sennen Goroshi AKA Thousand Years of Death/Pain
Is there anything else that might qualify as jutsu?
I think my top ten list would have (in no particular order):
-Jiraiya
-Orochimaru
-Kabuto (for part one and what he could have been in part two, but alas…)
-Second Mizukage, because he was so fun
-Hidan
-Might Guy
-Kakashi
-Killer Bee
-Deidara
-Itachi (he was cool, despite traumatizing his brother, what the fuck was the point, stupid)
Probably some others too, like Second Hokage, Neji, Shikamaru, maybe even Minato the Perfect.
No women on the list? Yeah, they suck. Temari was good in part 1. Sucks that she didn't do anything of note in part 2.

Add Rock Lee in there and we got a deal.
Also, am I the only one that actually liked Kisame?
Edit: And Gaara. I like Gaara

In retrospect, it seems like a foreshadowing to how the series was going to turn out. Essentially Kishi already had planned to toss out the hardworking underdog theme such as by how this scene turned out by him MAGICALLY perfecting a skill by reading a book ONCE. Underdog right there.
I just tried to post my own top 10, but I simply can't do it. Every time I add someone to the list I remember that the character either had terrible development or got sidelined in the past 500 chapters.
So after nearly ~15 minutes of hard thinking all I have is Jiraiya and Zabuza, and maybe a nod towards some of the early Akatsuki members (Deidera, Sasori, Kisame, Hidan, Kakuzo).
Rock Lee should have been the main character, and the one with the Kyuubi inside of him. No chakra, but the only reason he could pass the exam was because the fox lent him chakra. The story of the Hokage with only Taijutsu.
Looking back I liked a lot of Akatsuki members it was just the latter ones who really sucked i.e. Pein, Konan and Obito.
Kisame was a pretty cool guy throughout the whole thing and had one of the best death scenes 'multi-shark attack suicide' I'm also kind of surprised at how much screen time people like Kakashi and Might Guy got in the end, I always had a bad feeling that they'd fade into the background but they both got plenty of important moments despite not being kids.
Whatever happened to this guy anyway?
I'm sorry I typo'd. Ebossu doesn't want to be found anywhere….

It weird because you just added a second "s" you didn't have in the original post…..:ninja:

I think it was Ebisu actually, but yeah…he definintely snuck out of the comic when he knew it would turn into complete shit by the final war.
…he was the bald guy with the scars, right?
Shows how much attention I paid!

He's evolving yo :ninja: Mega evolutiooon!
No one posting Sasori, but good pick with the Second.

Don't feel too bad I actually had to go to the Naruto Wiki to find his name.
Faces are easy to remember names on the otherhand….struggle.
Good nardo characters
Armadillo penis is the real stand out character.
Well, he is an upright fellow.
He should hang his head low in shame, with a name like that.
WSJ 50 already gone out of market…

I could have sworn that Naruto did use it in the beginning, against Zabuza during Wave arc, then think there was some in the forest during the Chunin exams, when team 7 first encounter Orochimaru, (you know back when he was still scary as shit)
BTW Zabuza is my fave Naruto villain, least how he appeared in the early days. Was he one of those characters that got the resurrected-to-be-lame treatment? I purposely did not read that crap and hope Zabuza was left to rest in a grave

Well, if you really wanna know:
! Yeah, he was. And yes, it was very pointless.
!
If the manga had a blooper reel, this would be in it.
Sakura looks like an actual female in that comic, so it's automatically invalid.

Yeah those aren't breasts, they're lies.

Well that is more incentive to not go and read it! I am happy to have only the Wave arc to ref to for Zabuza moments
List of Naruto characters that died and stayed dead:
Jiraiya
Neji
Danzo
Kisame
Konan
And there's probably a couple more

You mean characters that were not Edo Tensei'd?
I admit it feels weird that the next week's chapters are coming out and Naruto is not among them.
- Kakashi
- Jiraiya
- Itachi
- Gai
- Tobirama
- Killer B
- Lee
- Shikamaru
- Orochimaru
10) Hinata for crushing the NaruSaku forum
The last one gave me a good laugh, thanks for that. XD

No problem
Our first week without a Naruto chapter.
Such a surreal feeling.
I actually feel nothing, cause I don't even think about this series anymore, lol.
This week's chapter is the best in a while.
Well, we could all read some Naruto fanfic to fill the void.
…..pfffffft HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!
..
…
...... no
well, mostly no. Only fanfics I would read would be set in the early days, before the timeskip, and even then barely anything is worthwhile. Most (90%) is worthless, post timeskip percentage raises even higher to ... wait I don't touch those at all! ... so for me its a '100% do not read'
Has this been posted yet?

Jesus Christ…
Someone beat you to it by a week or so.
But still, I wonder why the fans of a certain other pairing aren't throwing fits (not to this extent at least) when their ship's "relationship" had been the most fleshed out one thoughout the series.
Naruto sure as hell didn't hyperventilate over Sakura or Hinata.
But still, I wonder why the fans of a certain other pairing aren't throwing fits (not to this extent at least) when their ship's "relationship" had been the most fleshed out one thoughout the series.
Because NarutoxSakura is the one true pairing….....for people high out of their minds.
A somewhat accurate graph of Naruto's drop in quality.
Yeah, that's fairly accurate. Don't know why there was such a big drop for "Invasion of Konoha", and "Itachi Pursuit" was definitely worse the Hidan and Kakuzu stuff. And I don't know why they gave it a boos for the "Confing the Jinchurriki" arc (what, was that when Naruto was training with Killer Bee?)
Too bad Shroomsday still haven't made a parody comic yet about chapter 699 and 700….though if he made one by just showin' the actual chapters I wouldn't be sure if to call that genius or plain lazy. XD
