@Timbo:
Something quite funny I've thought about concerning the Schichibukai is that the world government would even use them in the first place. I mean, in less than a year, all of the Schichibukai have managed to only abuse their power in order to screw the world government over. On top of this, I have never seen any of the Schichibukai actually do what they are supposed to do. They could be doing it to a remarkable degree off-screen, but I seriously think they are a business expense, regardless how you twist and turn it.
I mean, after it turned out that Crocodile more or less ruled an entire kingdom and managed to corrupt it from head to toe, should not someone in the world government have stood up and said ''uhm guys, maybe giving dangerous criminals a free card might not be the best idea''?
I mean come on seriously: it's sort off like putting your hand on a stove over and over. Even if some marines might not like the Schichibukai system, it makes absolutely no sense to have it at all. You must be a freaking lunatic in order to consider this even a remotely good idea. It makes absolutely no sense to keep on recruiting new ones after these terrible results.
Yes, their main job is to discourage piracy. Mihawk was doing his job at the beginning of the series. Think about it, it's better to have monsters like Mingo, Kuma, Mihawk, Hancock on your side.

@Erebus:
Did you even read what was said in the link I gave you? You're just stating stuff said in the PAST.
Maybe I'll just state what I said there:
Trafalgar Law is a tentative Shichibukai according to Chapter 746. According to the translations, Law is said to be a tentative or provisional Shichibukai, meaning it has not been confirmed by the World Government that he has lost the title. Issho may have "revoked" his title in Chapter 713, but Chapter 729's title is called Shichibukai Doflamingo Vs. Shichibukai Law**. In the very next chapter, 730, Doflamingo refers Law as a Shichibukai. Basically I'm saying that he's not a former Shichibukai, but a tentative one.
I would also like to point out that Chapter 629's title is called **The Former Shichibukai Who Stands in the Way, so it's not like Oda forgot to mention "Former Shichibukai" in Chapter 729's title
Also if the Shichibukai have no obligations to obey the Marines unless under the direct orders of the World Government itself, as the Marines page states and as Kuma had stated in the manga, then why should we take Issho's word as concrete fact? Only the World Government has that kind of authority to take away the title. There has not been any newspaper stories of Law losing his title, as the story hasn't progressed yet.
Chapter 713 is the chapter in which Fujitora "revokes" Law's title as Shichibukai. Chapter 713 is in Volume 72. In Volume 73, in the short bio section at the beginning of the volume (where it lists all the major characters), Trafalgar Law is still listed as a Shichibukai.**** I would like to also point out that while Moriah's title was not discussed in a story, it was confirmed when the Gorosei are in a meeting discussing the aftereffects of the war in Chapter 594 (three positions need to be filled). That is when it became official.
First the entire events is about 3-5 hours old give or take. Issho also said in 713, "depending on your answer, our mission may entail the arrest of you and SHs" As off two chapters ago, Issho is still trying to arrest the SHs. Either the news got to the higher ups yet or not, I don't know. As far as Issho is concern, Law is no longer a Shichibukai and needs to be put in chains.
