Closer to Icons (images of Jesus) in say Eastern Orthodox Churches. Or easier example like crosses to a vampire. No real-world Cross shoots out golden purifying GodFURY that burns Vampires to ash. That just happens in fiction and imagination. Same thing with the Buddha statues.

I am of the similar opinion. This df would explain why he's carrying that heavy looking shield on his back. As soon as he deflates, the weight kicks in and he body slams opponents with increased force.

i've always thought the whole purpose of sabo showing up in dressrosa is for him to eat the fruit ..
can't find a better candidate , he is strong "at least at ace level" so he will show the true potentials of the fruit
and he's a main character so that we can see a lot of fireworks in the future that's kind of fan service in a way -

Pell said that 5 types of devilfruit exists which gives the user the ability to fly. He never said there are only 5 devilfruits that can do that.

"5 known devil fruits" is actually an accurate translation (of 世界に５_種_しか確認されぬ_飛行能力_). there are Japanese fans pointing out the same thing as you – that it's easy to name a lot more than 5 people.
it doesn't really matter though, because the operative word here is "known". there's no reason pell should be aware of every fruit with the power of flight.
