I'm really crossing my fingers for a great opening with Wake Up. Judging from the preview, the song doesn't pump me up as much as I hoped it would but maybe the animation will make up for it.

Wake up could end up being a pile of throw up for all we know and honestly I think most of us won't care.
It's the principle everyone is pissed at. I liked the dubbed openings and endings we used to get on the Funi dvd releases but then the labels cried foul and I think they actually took away a few endings I don't remember, and now we can't even watch the new openings in the streams? What's next, mute the entire soundtrack in each episode?

Oh no, I don't think Hands Up is that good or that Wake Up will be that good for that matter (though hopefully better that Hands Up). Just for those that are sick of We Go, which should be most everyone watching Funimation's simulcasts by now. Hands Up at least didn't overstay its welcome.
As long as We Go is replaced, I do not care; it is one of my least fav OP intros….........Wait scratch, intro 12 was far worse, so as long as it is not something on the level of those 2. The real shame is that I liked Hands Up.
Listening from the preview it's got quite a fast tempo, hopefully that will be reflected in the animation, it could be SUPER~ exciting!

I remember watching an old video of Franky's voice actor, it looks like he lost a lot of weight, or is it just me o_0?
It's funny, usually voice actors/seiyuu don't sound quite the same when they're just talking and not being in-character, but Yao sounds exactly like Franky.
Wake Up! seems to have a pretty swift tempo, so hopefully that's reflected in the animation. I can imagine a rather dynamic character/power show off montage going along with it.

It's likely the plain, light-hued color and lack of ornamentation. Once we can see his
! marine coat and inner layer, it might not be as glaring.

If I remember correctly, he wears a solid-colored overcloak when he's first introduced in the bar. Then when it's established who he is, he wears a different robe with the Admiral coat. He looks weird cause it's all just one color; looks like a bed sheet.

Well let's not go overboard with it, either. The average OP viewer is in their mid to late teens now, maybe even into their 20's and 30's. Remember this series is almost 17 years old now. It's definitely made to appeal to a young boy audience, but most of those young boys are men now.

And Shonen series aren't made for little kids, that's what magazines like Saikyo Jump are for.
