@ZoroFTW9:
What is this?! Is this kid serious?! Honestly are you doing this to piss me off or you seriously lack the knowledge. Do you know why every time you learn a side character’s name, history, abilities or personality in OP that seems to have impact to the overall story?! It's because of how Oda seems to connect the subplots into the main plot very easily.
And this is not an easy feat for a writer that is writing a long running series weekly for the past 16 years while still managing to connect everything flawlessly and planning ahead. Whereas Togashi, who had more than 10 years of break, still couldn’t manage to write a decent plot?! Sorry but if that doesn’t say anything about Togashi being a really lazy and decent writer at best then I don’t know what does.
OP revolve around Luffy's adventure to become pirate king which is the main plot but there are side plots and characters that connect with and make the series more rich and add details to the overall plot and world of OP. Whereas in HXH the plot is just about Gon finding his dad but majority of the time it's non-existent in grand scheme of things and nothing even seems to be tied with it. And while I know that HXH is more character driven and doesn’t seem to focus on events , there is still no excuse for HXH to not have a strong plot .Having a strong plot that's clearly progressing somewhere is still necessary in a manga with a premise like this one .
This is why I avoid arguing with HXH because of how uneducated bunch of gullible people they are , who seems to dick ride the series at every turn and bleat how "amazingly" written it is yet don't seem to know the basics of storytelling. I am surprised as hell as how you seem to think that connecting plot dots is something like "god" or "world-changing" when it's just about the main character moving the story forward through his choices and actions . Like how hard is that to understand?! This isn’t rocket science. And why compare it with real life?! In real life you don’t know what’s going to happen to you but fictional storytelling is completely different thing. The writer is supposed to have planned out his story or at least have a basic idea as to where he is taking the series. Only a person who doesn’t know what he is doing would make up the story as he goes along. And I am not saying Oda hasn’t made up things but he still manages to flow it very well in the series and make it seem like he has planned it from the beginning. I could write more but I have wasted enough time on this already as it is and this should give you some idea but if you still can’t understand then you are beyond me .
You win, okay? Despite a peaceful looking avatar, you seem to be shouting. Don't be so angry, I never said Hunter X Hunter was better than One Piece. Nothing is, anyway. I take Togashi's laziness as a joke, and HxH is as good as over now.
Anyway, since you were surprised as hell, I might as well address this. From your post, you acted as if it was an absolute requirement, "All Manga Must Have The Main Character Change The Environment And Etc. Around Him." There are ways to move the story forward without having the main character press a button to get things going. You seem to say that if story doesn't follow rules, it automatically becomes bad. Your taste.
And I compared it to real life, because stories can be close to life, you know. There seems to all these rules you make: HxH can't have no subplots, can't be slightly like real life, etc.
So I don't want you wasting you wasting you time, I'll just give this win to you, I'm only explaining why I said what it was.
Edit:@Purple:
Before then, we were just barraged with questions about Pitou's gender
I prefer haters/Lovers to "Does Pitou have a penis?"
