Tank Lepanto and Elizabello getting development. I love you Oda. I love you so much.
My biggest question this chapter is who's the man Hank was talking to, it sure is gonna become an important point later on.

the first one is more touching. it's like having a cake in front of your eyes but you can't eat it because u have a bad throat.
i wonder why toy soldier didn't try to convince rebecca that he is her father. im sure rebecca would believe it. but it's not exactly that simple, i know. rebecca would hate him for letting her mother died, and maybe for him disappearing for almost the entire life of her.
He doesn't want to put a burden to Rebecca?
Quite the chapter, I never expected Ricky to be Riku, I thought he was kyros (guess the toy soldier was him).
About the toy fruit user, I don't think it's trebol, in chapter 700 he suddenly appeared as a slime thing before DD, he is probably just used for capturing/holding the person while he is transformed into a toy.
Barto made me LOL, he is so funny XD
I wonder what's hack's purpose in being in dressrosa. It's probably jinbei that sent him there.I hope he manages to make his den den mushi call before he is transformed into a toy.
Bond just growing stronger. In sense of you feeling justification for utterly demolishion of DF.
The most interesting part of the chapter however for me was that piece of info we got about 100 years of missing history.
So the Donquixote family became one of the celestial dragons and 100 years later Riku family. What is missing in between?
First there is this bad ruller => celestial dragons
After that comes the missing century
after that comes the good ruller who apologizes for everything that was doneWhy do I mention this?
Because we know only one family who didnt go to Mariejois and that is the family from Alabasta.
And wouldnt you know… they are kind as well.It may be nothing. But why do I have a feeling there is so much more. Like it would be Alabasta's family standing for one side and other royal families which form the celestial dragons the other...
However. Until now peace was here in Dressrosa and a good king was "always" rulling.Idk something feels amiss like as if they all went to gain something special but needed to have no morality for it.
Because why else would they even move and abandon their kingdoms in the first place. Was someone coming after them? Save for Alabasta?
Did they moved because there is something in Marijois which they saw more important than to continue rulling their kingdoms.
I mean yeah sure they made the WG however… so had Alabasta, why were they the only ones who didnt move and why does it seem like they were the only "good" ones?Perhaps I am seeing and thinking too much about it. But just to share my thoughts
I'm thinking a certain kingdom started a global revolution, and the world government is the response.
What players is trebol talking about when he tells sai:"these players are all power types"?
Nice chap, but no matter how hard I try to see otherwise Trbol's power just screams logia to me! And even if he had a toy devil fruit, there still wouldn't be an explanation why everyone close to the victims forget them! Still damn curious about it. :ermm:
So if Riku is a family name, wouldn't it make Riku Rebecca then? That's gonna take some time to get used to, with Riku being Finnish guy's name and all.
While there might be no real connection here, did anybody notice this similarity: After Sai turned into a fruit, he thought to himself that he couldn't control his body. This kind of reminds me of when Doffy was controlling Bellamy and Sarkies, when one of them said they couldn't control their body as well.
Doffy's toy toy fruit user might just incorporate a person's essence inside a toy. Doffy is actually the puppeteer controlling the toys. String fruit + Toys = Puppeteer?
Just want to clarify was the Happou navy sent by the Flower country or wano country-Translations confusing
Just want to clarify was the Happou navy sent by the Flower country or wano country-Translations confusing
Flower country sent the Happou navy because of the various wars in the area. They want to discover/stop the smuggling/sale of weapons that fuel the wars

they were sent by the Flower country
In America we have talk of slave compensation to be paid by the ancestors of the slave owners. Or rather the government of those ancestors. In the torunament we have don chinjou wanting to take revenge with an ancestor. :) Similarites.
does anyone have a high quality version of the color spread?
lol I just noticed that Hack's holding a den den mushi and was talking to someone. I though he was talking to himself at that time. Good chapter btw, people/toys bowing to the King was such a powerful scene.
It's definitely suspicious that Oda didn't show the transforming process at all.
While I said that I can buy Trebol being the toy-maker, the fact that Oda didn't show how it happened makes me really think that's not the case. There's a twist in there that Oda can't reveal yet.
this
i think mainly this and also the fact, that trebols power did look a lot like logia abilities, heavily indicate that he's not the toymaker
while you could argue about that putty-slime stuff someone talked about giving him a logialike body even if its a paramecia-type (like baby 5), i dont see how you could fit a "make toys out of people who somehow have to obey your order AND alter everybodys memories about those people" in a fruit that also makes you a play-doh man
Fantastic chapter as usual, but could someone clarify something for me?
At some point in history before the Void century the dwarves were given refuge by someone from the Donquixote line. Was it that monarch who tricked them into being slaves? Or was it peaceful until someone else from the Donquixote line took over? I'm a bit confused about the wording there.
We do know however, that the Donquixotes were corrupt at that point in history, right before the 100 years no one has any record of. Whatever happened, they survived it somehow and moved into Mariejois, isolated from the rest of the world. Can we really say that all the royal families who moved there were corrupt? It's possible Oda may be hinting at that, but if that is true, then what is the world government exactly? I know that we don't have much information yet, but something bothers me about the Void century. How is it that there is so much information before those one hundred years? Were people with any real knowledge of those events wiped out? Or silenced somehow? Besides written censorship, how could this have happened?
Oh mannn shit is just getting realllllll
can Viola be Violet…?
I enjoy a good info dump chapter.
The revelation of Ricky being the former king was already predicted. Although, a lot people also predicted that he was also Kyros.
I can see this still being the case.
The scene with the toys and the fallen gladiators bowing down to Dold was very powerful. Good to see that not everyone in the country was brainwashed into despising the former rulers.
As for Trebol, I don't think he's the the one with the toy ability. It seems like he just chooses the losers from the pit with his slime. There also might be another reason as to why Oda is choosing to keep the identity of the toy ability user a secret.
It wasn't a big shocker that the soldier is Rebecca's father, but it's nice that it's confirmed.
There were prominent groups who either believed that Dold was Rebecca's father or the Soldier was her father. It had to be one or the other.
Until now, I thought that people who got turned into toys were "just" brainwashed and once they "caught the human disease", they actually came back to their senses… but now that Oda implied that they're pretty much aware of everything that's happening and just can't control their bodies is plain horrifying. How many years did living toys exist in that country again? That's how long people were stuck in such an awful existence O_O
can Viola be Violet…?
Yeah most likely. The Riku kindgom ain't really good with codenames. You had King Riku going with Ricky.
Chapter is out.
i have to say i really like this cover spread
I'm guessing Viola is actually Violet? For some reason, I want to know who's foot that is.
I think Trebol is the toy maker since he is giving the commands. If he can turn others into toys he probably turns himself into toy slime. Remember Gak?
Good plot and worldbuilding chapter!
The colorspread is nice, everyone together as kids and when older.
Wow, the toys bowing, along with Sai being turned to a toy and having no control over what he's doing. Very creepy.
The connection with Goa is cool. Everything was pretty predictable, but in exchange it all made sense and connected some of the many fractions in this arc, hopefully to bring it all nicely together by the end.
Dressrosa's landscapes continue to be beautiful, I love the settings of this arc. So much variety. Must be a pain for Oda and his assistants, but very pleasing to the eye. The final page made the Rebecca flashback a bit harsher. Ouch. Looking forward to the next chapter.
There's been no evidence of Trebol not having a physical body.
The visible slime might just be oozing out of him, because he produces it, not IS it.
Well, in his introduction chapter we saw a blob plop down from the ceiling and suddenly Trebol.
!
Didn't even notice hack was on the Den Den Mushi? Who is he talking to???????????? My guess a RED HAIR!!!
- What's up with Old-quixote looking alot like Blackbeard? Is Blackbeard part Celestial Dragon?? If he's a D and a CD, maybe his ambition is to be the "king of the world" , since if he's both maybe he feels it's his birthright. He's also shown to be way different then the other "D", so it's possible I guess.
I thought that's been obvious that it's Blackbeard ultimate goal for a while now. The Pirate king title is juts an means to an end, like his other titles Shichibukai and Yonko.
Well, in his introduction chapter we saw a blob plop down from the ceiling and suddenly Trebol.

He really looks like a logia, this is very intriguing tbh, I was thrown off when I read the spoilers. I have no clue what's up with him for now, and it irks me!!!

True, but again he might just be covered in slime, not actually be it.
It definitely looks like a logia there, but I think he is the toy DF user, and I doubt oda would lump a weird esoteric additional ability onto a logia DF.
Anyway I'm in the camp that thinks it's suspicious that the transformation wasn't show if Trebol is the toymaker.
He just abducted someone and then an unspecified amount of time later we see him talking to the toy-ified person in a different location, with the victim having no idea what just happened. Not even a "damn you slime man for giving me this wretched form!"
Who knows how this will unfold but I'm assuming there's a second person doing the transforming for now.
With this chapter, I'm looking forward to seeing Donflamingo's next moves. The guy has made so many enemies, and now we know that while he has many of them under control, they're all working to figure out his plan. This guy…it's all gonna come crashing down on him soon. However, I hope Don does something to make it seem like this isn't going to happen first.
I mean, what, does this guy have like a dozen different organizations looking at him? One of them being Kaidou, who'll murder him if their deal goes awry? It's incredible how good this guy is at keeping things under "control." Get it?

Yeah, Logia fruits always been the clearer of the three types, and for some reason I think Oda will keep them that way.
So I guess Viola is Violet, who's connected to the Riku Family, and maybe the Toy Soldier is Kyros? If the king was a gladiator, then I suppose he could have been one as well.
Luffy just gained a shit ton of allies lol
question does anyone think maybe they put their souls into the toys? and keep their real bodies as soldiers? you know find something else that can inhabit their bodies and make them truly loyal to doflamingo… although jola did say they had a DF user who could make people into toys

Oda probably decided to show us the transformation from Sai's POV. He gets abducted. Everything goes dark. As he comes to he hears Trebol giving orders and he goes out wondering why he has no control of his body.
How in the world does Trebol have the Toy fruit?
Does that mean he's just naturally slimy?

I'd assume that too, but there are some people who say there's no visual evidence (or implied) that there are two devil fruits. But if there's only one fruit, it won't just be making toys but manipulating histories/existences (think Torches from Shakugan no Shana) as well. And I really doubt that'll happen, even if Oda hasn't actually shown Trebol working with another person.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
@krule274:
How in the world does Trebol have the Toy fruit?
Does that mean he's just naturally slimy?
Even pirates get sweaty palms, man.
I was convinced by the way the spoilers read that trebol was definitely the DF user (that and the fanart pic) but I'm gonna go with the "there's a possibility it's Pica or someone else who's doing this… but it could still be trebol" theory
which is basically saying I have no fucking clue and don't want to make an ass out of myself
With the latest chapter, I'm even more inclined to believe that the Tontatta Princess is the one with the toy ability.
Toy Soldier says that DD brought a crewmember with the toy fruit with him when he first came to the island tho
Toy Soldier says that DD brought a crewmember with the toy fruit with him when he first came to the island tho
He could have made a pitstop at Green Bit first, right?
Doflamingo seems to be a master manipulator. I wouldn't put it past him to abduct the princess in such a way that she must officially join his crew, ala Arlong and Nami.
@Al!naJames:
So are we not gonna talk about how Donquixote the ancestor looks exactly like Blackbeard…
http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/4784/lcnx.jpgI wonder if Oda completely ran out of character designs at this point or?..
Wow, this is a good observation. I really felt there was something familiar about that shadow…now I'm really wondering if it's symbolically for evilness or it's really a "D, Celestial Dragons and the lost century" hint.
Chapter was great, provided all the background info, that means we're good to go next chapter! Can't wait.
And I also thought Trébol only did the kidnapping, might be someone else who turned Sai into a toy. The Flubber-theory ain't bad though, either.
Nice catch man ;)
Great chapter, gave alot of information, can't wait to see how it all plays out in later chapters :D I honestly feel bad for Riku, he was a truly great king whom cared alot about his people as well as toy soldier being Rebecca's father
Anyone think someone of the Strawhats might become a toy?
Is anyone else starting to genuinely hate Doflamingo??? I dont know what it is but I haven't disliked a character in this way since The celestial Dragon the luffy ROCKED in the face. It's weird becuase Ceasar was killing kids and I just found him annoying but this nigga Flamingo is one of the grimmest pieces of shit just based on what he's done to the riku family.
I feel like he personifys the most disgusting essence of the celestial dragons
I've hated him since the whole slave house business. Dude has never been painted by Oda as a particularly nice guy and he's only likable because of his design and his powers.
Ricky is the king, Scarlet is the king's daughter, Toy soldier is the husband of Scarlet and father of Rebecca.
I bet Toy soldier is also Kyros and because he got some much fame and admiration from the coliseum, he married the king's daughter.

I find it funny how Luffy punched a Celestial Dragon in Doffy's slave auction house.
Riku is the family name like Monkey; Monkey D Luffy, Monkey D Dragon, Monkey D Garp. From the Intro box in this chapter, the current king's full name is "Riku" Daldo 3rd.
I'd hate to be the guy you're replying to, looking in my notifications, seeing a dozen people telling me that Riku is the family name. He'll probably be an expert on Dressrossian royalty before the next chapter releases.
