@Maju:
it's not like that doens't happen in real life too..hell a couple of years ago I was convinced that guy from tokyo hotel was a she,and there were many teenagers falling for him
1 men in 500 hundred are actually born with an additional X chromosome (XXY), basicly making them non-hermaphrodite gender hybrids but with exlusivley male organs!
These men usually inherit their mothers figure and physical features. I am one of these men myself and with long hair i look like a clone of my mother (wich is not all bad since she used to be a model- and a tall skinny blonde swedish one to add!) altough i have some predominantly male feautures like thick bushy eyebrows and a tall nose, i got most of the physical symptoms: Slim figure, rather prominent hips, increased height, small feet in relation to body height, lack of hair on arms, chest, legs and back, skinny long effeminate arms and fingers and a reduced muscle and fat production. I like to dress in unisex clothes and maintain a unisex haircut to play with peoples expectations.
Lots of people cant tell what age or gender i am. The good things are that it does not affect the growth of your "family jewels" as luffy puts it, and you are immune to male pattern baldness. The bad stuff includes a lack of sex drive (wich can be fixed by hormone treatment), tendency to develop osteoprosis later in life, risk of infertility (but i was lucky to avoid this) and manboobs (wich i was lucky to dodge too). Medical products and drugs usually behave strange so i have to be conservative about medications and start out with very low doses.
sadly another common consequence that i did not recieve is lowered cognitive capacity wich can happen if an XXY individual comes into life before the additional weeks in the womb that we need to fully develop due to our complex chromosome/DNA structure. i spent 10 months and 1 day in my mothers womb and when it was time for labour i still did not want to go out (i was literary trying to stay in, resulting in coming out with my feet first instead of head, requiring an emergency Caesarean.
google for more information, altough the wikipedia article is rather lacking.
Anyways, what i really wanted to say with all this blather about myself is…
Do you think the effeminate ideals in manga is reflected in general japanese culture? in other words, could i move to japan and expect to be treated like Cavendish?!
