Animation Red Ash Call is white?
Huh.
Animation Red Ash Call is white?
Huh.
Oh wait. So the animation was funded already on kickstarter but they want more money, so they started another one.
Lmfao again? lol
It must have been sad to see over 500k almost borrowed and gone in an instant.
At this point I cannot muster any response beyond "For Fucks Sake"
This is beyond a joke now
Lmao and this delay again wasn't communicated clearly.
It's somewhere at the bottom of an unrelated "news post" called kimo kimo that doesn't otherwise give any indication of the delay.
The usual places where you would check up on news like your email, the kickstarter side no posts.
Jesus…. just f*** yourselfs Comcept it's like we're 10 times beyond this being a coincidence. You shady fucks stop being retarded.
Comcept Mentality: "If we keep doing the same damn thing, MAYBE it'll work THIS TIME!"
No…just finish your damn Mighty No.9 game for pete's sake and kick up your next project when your Might No.9 game gets profit. Dammit, what's wrong with you schmucks? :getlost:
Are there seriously idiots out there that are STILL falling for this shenanigan and funding this crap? (So far there are 26 idiots out there. So lets see how many more idiots fall for this shit).
Yeah, they had this cool-looking game for the 3DS that they scrapped because started working on a lot of things at the same time.
Yeah, what the hell Shantae, why is your game so late after having a couple of extra stretch goals that add to the development time and number of consoles? Half-Genie Hero was supposed to be out October of last year!
At least Shantae managed to get it's demo out on time
tbh I think we'd be less appalled about the delay if:
a) it was communicated in a reasonable manner
b) there wasn't a kickstarter (technically two if you count the concurrent anime one), live action movie, and cartoon in production before the game even gets released
It's not that there's a delay more than it is the general mismanagement of information and questionable business choices. Yeah Shantae having some delays sucks, but it doesn't have a good bunch of concurrent projects.
So I've just learned that everyone should have gotten a mighty gunvolt key for when the game comes out.
Anyone got their key yet?
The second kick starter, if they didnt had a second project this threads complaint would be bosted with cries of "why did they fire all those designers artist and developers".
By now all art, sound and heavy engineering should be completed, and any polishing is most likely being done by a small team squashing bugs and retouching art.
I like that all the kickstarter backers get a key since I only donated $5 instead of $20 for the full game.

But if thats true, shouldn't this be the approach for every single new indie kickstarter developer? Start up a new campaign immediately to "conserve resources" and stuff? I might be totally ignorant here, but the general crowdfunding indie approach seems to be
Fundraise for first game–>
Make first game-->
First game is a success, you can now raise money for more games, either through sales of the first game or by more donations generated from goodwill based on the first game.
Again, I might be ignorant, but I haven't heard stories of the regular crowdfunded indies laying off half the staff prior to the games release. Did Yacht Club Games have more than one kickstarter going at once? Idunno, but to me, it looks like Shovel Knight managed to be economically viable by itself.
There are a bunch of variables that I don't know, like studio size and specialties. The mega man guy can summon a larger team that shovel knigth required. Also, the art team of both games are very different in nature, mn9 required tons of assets, while the pixel art of shovel Knight is usuaky easier to make. And yatch club was kind of tied to Nintendo after the release, that might give them some wiggling room with their teams as there is a somewhat serious partner behind them. An important analysis to make is to compare other funded games to see how it goes, and how teams fluctuate between releases. Like double fine and broken age/massive challice. I remember that the second KS was out before broken age was ready.
I'm not excusing them, I'm just saying that there might be another reason other than "greeeeed"
That said while I might not jump to "it's greed" there is some undeniable mismanagement going on. Especially when you consider that this isn't just some no name studio but one with a name behind that should have some amount of pull.
It doesn't help that actual no name studios went through the process without those problems popping up. Like Harebrained, Lab Zero, etc.
Actually Lab Zero seems to be the ideal. Those guys are working right now on their prototype for a Valkyrie Profile inspired RPG that will be available to everyone even before they're going to start their campaign.

And it already looks a lot better than what we got here. :ninja:
Also I the whole firing artist/designer/dev thing not sure if that even affects Comcept. The way I understand it they're just doing the design and the actual development is always outsourced in case of MN9 to Inti Creates who weren't going to work on Red Ash anyways.
See, I didn't back the actual Kickstarter and I didn't follow all of the updates. every time a gameplay vid came to my attention, I checked it out and it looked neat.
So I'm not supremely bothered by the delay… I'm just gonna get the game when it finally does hit and judge it on its own merits.

Couldn't have said it better myself. (I did back it but as far as I'm if delaying it means improvement then by all means do so)
Delays are fine when it comes to actually improving the game and making it a near perfect experience.
But, as Purple said:
@Purple:

It's less about the delays, and more about how they communicate them. Each of the delays have just been shady, with the biggest one being during their Red Ash Kickstarter. Then there's their actions outside of the development of the game, which just further show their disconnect.
It can be a good game in the end, but that just won't excuse the fiascos leading up to it. Comcept has severely lowered the amount of trust people should put into them for future projects.
Gonna be honest here this I don't care attitude because it doesn't affect me even though what's happening is clearly wrong pisses me off quite a bit. I personally think it's just a terrible attitude to have.
Especially because you suddenly swap places on another issue and it's suddenly the most important thing ever and the opposition is such an asshole for not supporting your point.
Demo is out.
Played it. Dunno for now all I can say I like Shovel Knight more from the aesthetic to things like the checkpoint mechanics it just feels better.
Not to mention that the game for some reason doesn't register my D-Pad.
The new release date has been revealed as February 9th in North America, and February 12th in Europe.
http://nintendoeverything.com/mighty-no-9-gets-new-release-date-now-out-on-february-9/
Uh…yeah....I like Mighty No. 9 :O
I still think the game seemed pretty damn hard in parts but since there isn't any upgrade\weapons besides default in the demo it might seem easier in the full version. Speedrunners are going to LOVE this game, though.
The Demo Is DRM free, anyone know if it got uploaded online somewhere for non-backers?
I don't wana pirate the actual game, I'll totally buy it…. but I'd love to get to try it.
Seems Inafune can't do what Capcom can (if they want to).
Planning a sequel near end of development is generally standard company fare.
But with certain companies, when you say that kind of thing, you take a lot of PR damage. Mostly of the time if your record is sketchy, people will easily assume you aren't putting enough effort in or are locking content out from the first game (even if it's not true). I think Inafune's certainly on that list, given his recent questionable management.
There is a very good reason sequels go unannounced most of the time, unless it's near release or they need developers or something.
You know, I would have been excited for a MN9.EXE battle network, but at this point, I don't care.
So many games that should have been, yet never were… meanwhile, so many games that exist, yet I wish did not...
Well, if I don't receive an adequate response email soon, I am going to request a refund.
I backed the game at the 120 tier and have not received a single thing besides the beta. Apparently they had already sent out the physical goods (of which I had not be contacted for) and they also gave a gunvolt code out (which I did not receive either).
I sent them an email about it….two months ago. I just sent another today and I'll give it a wekk and then I am going to have to email kickstarter.
This was the crowdfunding project that made me stop using crowdfunding sites. It's sad, really. I'd like to help people out but I hate being royally screwed when I invested a lot of money and was promised things that had nothing to do with the game's actual quality.
There's a new trailer out.
Ironic title for the trailer:ninja:
Oh hey look at that pre-order DLC for a kickstarter game. Well that's…. something that makes sense.
Okay, who was making that voice in the trailer?
http://gonintendo.com/stories/250776-mighty-no-9-delayed-once-again-now-coming-in-spring-2016: Delayed again
So how long until this just becomes a meme because its way past laughable at this point.
There's a new delay out.
does anyone even want to play this anymore
It could be worse. I could have been cancelled it. Like that other project that Inafune had. That it was more interesting than this.
Anyway, anything to keep you busy until Bloodstained gets out is good enough.
Whatever happened to the game being almost ready to release almost literally a year ago LOL
Something something network tests because what we all really want in one-player jump-and-shoot-man is some sort of internet co-op bullshit.
I'm barely paying enough attention anymore to care. Yooka Laylee, Bloodstained, La-Mulana 2, and this have been competing for my love, and this fell into dead last place a lonnnng time ago.
Lel <- that's all this deserves I'm saying this as the self proclaimed saltiest MN9 backer on AP
In a parallel universe I was smart and backed Shovel Knight and it got to 4 million and we got all knights playable :ninja: but in this universe I have Beck…. golden Beck....
Plenty of salt to go around. I created this thread in the assumption Inafune would essentially be making Megaman XI. It was off the back of capcom cancelling loads of games, he'd be working with init creates who'd made the fantastic Megaman IX…and with about four times the (true) budget of Shovel Knight, they make this dross. I can only assume it's inafune himself messing around or the number of ports they've committed themselves too, when you look at the other games they've been making there doesn't seem to have been any real dropoff of quality in the studio. The aesthetics, the level design, the delays, the other three kickstarters, the signature edition not being available to backers...this has to be one of the worst cases of a known industry regular losing all the goodwill they had.
Still, at least Shovel Knight is out and Ghost Song & Bloodstained are looking great. But I'm still hankering for a true megaman style experience, and it seems that'll not be assuaged with this.
I wonder if anyone actually got to have that meal with Inafune in the end?
last I heard inafune kept having to reschedule
This is getting comical at this point.
I mean, I'm still interested and I didn't back the game, so I don't have a financial reason to be mad here, so I'm just kinda like "Whatever, I'll get it when it finally does come out" but to all the people that actually backed and followed this… wow.... this is just getting BAD...
Especially the fact that its supposedly still just the Online Multiplayer that's the problem. Yeah, Multiplayer. That's what EVERONE plays Megaman for amirite?
I mean, why not just release the game now as-is with a disclaimer that the Multiplayer won't work until a patch hits a bit later?
What is there even to say at this point?
In the minds of a lot of his very most passionate supporters – the people he needed most if he was going to strike out on his own from Capcom -- Keiji Inafune's name has been badly tarnished.
Can't say it's been satisfying in any way to watch that implode. And what's so frustrating, as others have pointed out above, is at that for all that, he still doesn't have anything real to show for it!
last I heard inafune kept having to reschedule
Was this before or after he complained about japanese restaurants being behind American ones?
After, when he insisted Japanese restaurants he visits should only carry American staple foods because it'd make them more palatable for tourists
