I can't be the only one severely disliking the color spread.
It wasn't bad, it just seems to be drawn differently. Honestly, it looks like each character is kind of smooshed up and smaller.

Does anyone think that there's more to the mysterious disappearance of the Block A and Block B contestants ? Maybe Doflamingo has something planned with them that involves the factory ? (which would be the reason Oda gave all these new characters so much panel time)
DD is enjoying the show , instead of a death battle with law, a admiral is doing the job in few minutes… He must be laughing to dead, why law even said that he is allied to luffy? Is this guy stupid or out of his mind
Still, one guy is completely bloody while the other two are untouched. He beat Smoker fairly easy and humiliated Vergo as soon as he got his heart back and could fight properly. Difference between VAs and Admirals seem monumental, especially since I got the feeling that Vergo is one of the strongest VAs out there. I have to say I am annoyed the fight between them is being skipped, even though I feared this will happen. I wonder if next time Oda shows us Green Bitt, it will either show Law being KO'ed or Law disappearing/teleporting. :getlost: Please don't skip this Oda!
Honestly, I wouldn't be too sure, Oda could easily introduce more powerful VAs, it's not like he hasn't hyped up fighters only to have them utterly surpassed by characters that ought to be their equals before.
@wolfwoof:
Or maybe it's like cinderella and the spell wears off after midnight?
I had the same thought, and some loosely connected theories:
Doflamingo needs humans/souls to create SMILEs. I imagine this to be similar to the Philosopher's stone concept in Fullmetal Alchemist. It was always hinted at that the DFs contain the "soul of a devil".
Population of the country split into people who lost their bodies (toys) and people who lost their souls (still human). Hence the toys actually remember what is going on (evidenced by this chapter), while the humans lost all their memories along with their souls.
The "spell" wears off at midnight. The humans regain their memories temporarily at midnight, which is why Doflamingo strictly keeps them away from the rest of their families (toys) when this happens, to lessen the chance for revolt. Or maybe he's just a sick bastard.
Maybe the toys regain their real bodies at midnight as well, but not as confident about this part.
I also think the reason Doflamingo didn't just turn 100% of the population into toys is because he needs half the population to retain their memories. For example, every morning the "humans" wake up with no recollection of their previous lives. They meet their former family members (toys) on the streets. The "toys" who remember their past, are allowed to spend the day with the "humans" in order to help them regain or at least develop some more memories. These memories then get harvested every single night at midnight.
aka. Doflamingo is basically operating a giant a soul "Farm"
Wonder what your thoughts are?
Did you completely miss out on that chapter when the meteors almost hit him?
Did you completely miss out on that part where The meteor was aimied at Law? Are going to say that Fujitora aimed the meteor at himself because the meteor almost hit him too?
@Lady:
How disappointing this chapter was… I mean for the second time over just a few months a well built up fight that everybody wanted to see is sidelined just at the peak of excitement. Yea, sure we got necessary information, but I really wish that Oda would stop flicking around the different groups when it gets to moments like these.
I disagree completely. The scene changes at points where tension is high, leaving the reader in suspense about what the outcome of the events are, and therefore, anticipating when next we come back. Also, because he often does this, when we switch to a different scene, it often means we catch up on whatever excitement we cut away from last time. This can be used to release tension, or to build it up even more.
Did you completely miss out on that part where The meteor was aimied at Law?
There's nothing indicating that it was.
As far as we know, Fujitora's delibarately attacking both Law and Doflamingo, with the lame excuse that he's clumsy and can't aim.
Are going to say that Fujitora aimed the meteor at himself because the meteor almost hit him too?
Of course he was prepared to counter his own attack. But he didn't warn Doflamingo that a meteor was coming or even tried to protect him at all. So it definitely counts as an attack on him.
Difference between VAs and Admirals seem monumental, especially since I got the feeling that Vergo is one of the strongest VAs out there!
Bah! Double bah i say! Bambo bones is obviously nothing compared to Fidel, scarface, mohawk or spiderbutt
Honestly, I wouldn't be too sure, Oda could easily introduce more powerful VAs, it's not like he hasn't hyped up fighters only to have them utterly surpassed by characters that ought to be their equals before.
Vergo is the leader of the G-5 base, an HQ base in New World. I'm sure he can introduce really strong characters, but I still imagine Vergo is one of the strongest VAs. Not really confirmed but just the feeling I got. Remember that Vergo was beating Smoker as well even though Smoker was trying to get "even" with Law.
I know Law will be fine no matter what since he's a friend of, Luffy's but he's in a terrible situation right about now.
!
I hope that, Zoro ends up assisting, Law buying more time until, Luffy is done with the tournament.
It seems Law's fight is happening mostly off panel. I think pretty soon he will be captured (in like 2-3 chapters from now)
I've been thinking that he might end up being captured. It would be just fine because Luffy would end up saving Law's life like Luffy did with every single one of his crew-mates. That's where, Laws true loyalty shines afterwards. He may even stop with the "Straw-Hat Ya" business and start calling Luffy by his name.
Odds are this "Fruit user" of DD is that little girl. Or at least the one that looks like a little girl.
Whatever the fruit is, its abilities seems weird. Turning people into toys and replacing the memories of the people not affected don't seem like they go together in one complete package.
It's Jora. Didn't you see her turn the sunny, Nami, Brook, Momo & Chopper into toys?

I feel like Zoro would probably be the most susceptible to DD's powers, but really, whichever crew mate shows I think Law needs immediate evac, not assistance.
In all seriousness though G-5 is a dumping ground
It's not where the cream of the crop go
You'd never finds spotsworth or manly stache there
Zoro has no way to cross the bridge. He won't help Law.

Are you an idiot? When Law told Fuji that he was allied with Luffy Fujitora said that he was going to kill HIM, the meteor was aimed directly at HIM. He himself stated that he can't attack a shichibukai. He's aiming at Doflamingo yet Doflamingo is next to him smiling along side him complimenting him?Get lost.
Of course he was prepared to counter his own attack. But he didn't warn Doflamingo that a meteor was coming or even tried to protect him at all. So it definitely counts as an attack on him.
Doflamingo saw the meteor coming. He could protect himself. Law cut the meteor which led to one half going on to Doflamingo. I repeat again, get out of here. I encounter too many stupid people on this specific site as it is.
Are you an idiot?
Wow. What an overly aggressive fanboy.
When Law told Fuji that he was allied with Luffy Fujitora said that he was going to kill HIM, the meteor was aimed directly at HIM. He himself stated that he can't attack a shichibukai.
Yet he made it clear that he didn't support Doflamingo's actions. Just before he attacked both Law and him. Can you explain why he would need to excuse himself all the time if he was just doing his duty of punishing Law ? "I needed to test my power" "I'm clumsy" (or whatever is the right english translation). Even Doflamingo called him out on this. It's clear that Doflamingo is also one of his target, even if he has no right to attack him due to his Shichibukai's position.
just got done reading ONE PIECE. luffy look funny with a beard and the old guy「完he is fighting is a HUGE CRYBABY. thinking about the toys. i think law turns the people into toys. still crying about the toys who got hurt and people forget. lets go luffy so bad.
Wow. What an overly aggressive fanboy.
A fanboy of what exactly?

You moron. Everytime someone compliments him, Fujitora is modest about the situation. He's not trying to look full of himself. That's why he said those phrases.

Cool.
It looks to me like Fujitora is trying kill Law first because he thinks he's weaker and then attack doflamingo.
It's Jora. Didn't you see her turn the sunny, Nami, Brook, Momo & Chopper into toys?
Those weren't toys you idiot lol.

Law. Or I don't know why you would be so angry over such a mundane thing. Did you ever read the next crewmate thread ? People disagreeing about facts in the manga happens all the time.

Clearly you are not fully aware of the nature of Fujitora's attack. Due to the amount and range of the meteors, Fujitora targeted a general area WHICH encompasses both Law, Dofla, and himself. So yes, he targeted the area the meteors at the general area which he also happened to be located. However, he is capable of defending himself from his own attack (so that in itself is a moot point). So yes, technically he aimed at Doflamingo in result since he happened to be in the general range where the meteors landed. Whether this was his intention or not is an ambiguous point.
Law. Or I don't know why you would be so angry over such a mundane thing. Did you ever read the next crewmate thread ? People disagreeing about facts in the manga happens all the time.
I could care Less about what happens to Law. The convo wasn't even about Law in the first place. Who even said that I was angry? That makes no sense. if you don't want to be called a moron then don't act like one.I would be a lot more tolerant of the morons on here if I didn't encounter so many of them on a daily basis.
It's Jora. Didn't you see her turn the sunny, Nami, Brook, Momo & Chopper into toys?
She didn't, she turned them into works of art. And they all seemed fine mentally, which is apparently not part of this toy-transformation.
No, I think the little girl is the most likely thematically (Oda likes creating character concepts around DFs, and in that regard it makes sense that the little kid is the one with the Toy-making DF). Its also explains why DD has a kid in his crew, and why she is allowed to hang out with him when he was relaxing on Dressrosa the first time we say him Post-TS, which would never happen if she wasn't valuable to him in some way.
Also, we have to assume that this person is critically important to DD (as he/she represents the reason why the people tolerate him as their king), and therefore is probably in his inner circle and not out fighting for him in the tournament he set up to lure out Luffy. Assuming its someone we've seen before, that leaves the girl, the Steam-punk looking guy, and the "Spade" seat, and of those three the girl just feels more appropriate.
As for the age problem, I don't think its as significant a hurdle as people believe. I want to know more about what specifically happened, but I could see DD manipulating a 2-year-old into "creating lots of toys", particularly given how his DF works.

Cool.
He's a leader of an HQ base in NW and had the upper hand against Smoker and Sanji. It's possible, maybe if you tried reading my post completely you would have seen that I didn't write it for no reason at all. Hey look, it's Money King pretending his opinion about something none of us know factually is somehow more worth than everybody else here. Who could have possibly seen that one coming since it never happens in the forum?
It would be alot more impressive if it wasn't the dilapidated backwater junk heap people try to forget about
If he was one of their most prized fighters shouldn't he be stationed at the actual HQ and be ready for deployment

Act like a moron ? Because I don't have the same interpretation of Fujitora's actions as yours ? That's it. I'm done arguing with you.
Just wanted to say that given the Factory's under Dressrosa is allows Luffy to stay preoccupied during the second half of the arc. So Luffy can stay there until the climax when he needs to fight the big bad instead of having to join up during the obligatory reunion/meetup before the action scenes/Strawhat fights take place. Cause normally the structure is chaos ensues in the first act, the crew gets together to make their game plan, second act with mostly fighting, climax with Luffy, aftermath.
Personally still betting an interruption will occur and prevent the arc from finishing personally, but Luffy's nearby enough that he doesn't need to leave to get invested in whatever's going on around him enough to make him wanna kick the big bad's butt.

It's like a guy with bell bottoms, beatles style mop top, and a purple and green tie walking into a modern bar and just going "Groovy baby, where's the pay phone, gotta ring someone about the moon landing!" lol.
As usual, this was a great chapter! Oda continues to pique my curiosity about what happened between Chinjao and Garp, but now Rayleigh's thrown in the mix too! I had been suspicious for a while that the toys may have indeed been former humans because of what I saw happen to Nami, Chopper, Brook, and the Sunny, although the theories about how it's not the older lady makes some sense in a way. There are still too many mysteries that have not been revealed about Dressrosa and the Donquixote Family, so now we have to sit back and wait again. But nevertheless, I loved it!
Perhaps Rebecca will be more important than I thought if she can remember who the MLS is.

Tactically speaking, wouldn't you want some of the stronger VAs at different New World locations? That way if a situation arises, anywhere, you always have someone there that is strong enough to take care of it and near at all times. It makes sense to keep your Admirals at the main HQ in case of an attack but the other strong members of the marine, why wouldn't you have some of them stationed all over New World if it was possible? As I said before, he looked pretty good against both Sanji and Smoker, that's not a bad feat. Obviously nothing is conclusive here but there is enough evidence to show that there is a chance Vergo is high tier VA. Then again he did get humiliated by Law, so now the discussion is more in line of is the difference between Admiral and VA massive or simply he isn't as strong as the really high tier VAs despite owning another VA and breaking Sanji's bone (if I remember correctly, could be wrong).
Or there is option C, and I am looking way too much into a single page.

That wouldn't make sense at all, we know Law was at Punk Hazard for quite a while,Plus he wouldn't be able to erase all those memories. Not even gonna mention the fact that he has no reason to do so.
@Monkey:
reads first sentence It doesn't suggest that when it something you have to hone, like Luffy did.
reads second sentence…..what...?
Sorry, poor wording. I know Nami wouldn't have saved Bellemere like Ace saved Luffy regardless of the use of conqueror's haki.
I was pointing out–if conqueror's haki is something you have to be simply ambitious enough to use--the fact that Ace manifested conqueror's haki when Luffy was in danger and Nami didn't when Bellemere died implies Nami didn't have a strong will to protect her loved ones. And that's... kind of depreciating of a main character.

It's not just will, it's confidence as well. I really fucking doubt nine year old Nami was perfectly motivated, rather than filled with panic and fear and whatnot.
What is "CoC"
Explain this short words to me, please!!
I think it is weird that the VA's can put up a fight against shichibukai
there's a shit load of VA's and there's only 7 shichibukai, and there 1/3 of the power that controls the world, you'd think they'd mop the floor with a VA in no time… or that they'd have a lot more then 7 shichibukai
but I'm, pretty sure Vergo is a beast, I mean bartolomeo beat one off screen without a scratch, we really don't know the difference between a weak VA and a strong one (and don't bring up Garp)
and is anyone annoyed that everyone was always in awe of Luffy having Coc haki and how it meant he'd go somewhere and now Chinjao is like, so what everyone has that in the new world
or am I interpreting what he said completely wrong?

Why the heck do people keep assuming all VA's are some sort of identical group of powers, rather than the lobby of strong guys who are near the top but don't fill the three admiral spots. Meaning the bottom floor could be someone simple enough, and the top is people who would otherwise actually BE Admirals like Garp. No idea why you say not to bring him up, when refusing to aknowledge him is exactly why you're confused.
den den mushi: the number you dialled is incorrect.
haha

Shit, I don't know why that was so hard for me to understand.
Thanks.
It can't be the kid that turns them into toys he brought a df user her ten years ago and she looks no older than 12 she ate it at 2? Maybe but she was eattting stuff of her fingers I guess candy that's a hint to hers, but its definitely whoever wasn't at the Mera mera fruit meeting.
For all we know, Fujitora could have been a VA 2 years ago.

One Piece is not based around power levels but Shishibukai such as Hankock, Hawkeye and Doflamingo shouldn't have any trouble against the weak VA's, which by the way it was said in this chapter that Maynard is a low tier VA but still props to Bartolomeo
For all we know, Fujitora could have been a VA 2 years ago.
He wasn't a Marine two years ago, he jumped straight to the top of the food chain

Yeah pfft Garp, what a pushover. He wouldn't ever be able to handle the likes of Moria.

There was a huge meteor over law's head. Donflamingo only got caught because law used room to dice it up.
