@sushi1382:
I agree, his size feels awkward at times to me. The hassle to the crew is a very good point, they're a large bunch to begin with but San Juan would bring nothing but a load of issues, especially when you're as "wanted" as his captain probably is. (Reguardless of rank) One this that has begun to bother me more and more, I respect those who don't mind these two factors, is how almost pathetic Sanji has become. he has his strength and amazing skills but his womanizer…ness has gotten a little much, I have a hard time enjoying him as a character because of it sadly. He's lost a lot of his extra character development as the sophisticated chef of the Strawhats, now he's the winey overly perverted and desperate...dude.
The second thing is how overly sexualized the women have gotten, I know they've always been but I feel that they've taken it a bit too far. The recent addition ofRebecca really bothers me, something about her I can't quite put my finger on.
I feel like if Oda made San Juan a Blackbeard sized person, or if he wants, even just a normal giant, his role would have been the same. Having someone that size is just awkward.
I agree about Sanji to an extent. I still like him but his pervertedness has been too much lately, like at Fishman island where his nosebleeds somehow managed to work their way into the plot. Having it as a gag was ok, but how it came to that was beyond me. I thought the role of the super perv would pass to Brook but I guess they're sharing it.
About the women, eh. It's whatevs to me. That's just how shonens are now I guess, but let's just pray it never gets to Fairy Tail level.
