I hope Dvd with the movie comes soon..more action with Ryodan is never a bad thing
Hunter x Hunter II

I'm still 7 or 8 eps behind on the anime, but I am not going to rush one of my favourite anime, especially when there is so much good to go!

Can anyone confirm that the manga is coming back this August? Don't believe everything I read, but this time I like to believe it's true…

Then don't, because nothing has been confirmed.
August? Really? pfft….

Of course it's coming back in August.
Next year.

You Hope Killers…It's coming back, you'll see.

Only next year? You have too much hope in Togashi. :getlost:
-
Let me guess. You were there for the photo.
Who do you think took it?
I just know what he looks like. I have some pictures of him and Oda together for some events they did together early in OP's run.
-
Hypothetically (perhaps not so much?), say Hunter X Hunter did end right here. Would this be one of the biggest blue-ball teases in the history of fiction? If there's something similar where an author of any kind writes right on the final few paragraphs the makings of a brand new exciting story-line with tons of new characters introduced, and then DECIDES not to publish his next book (which is basically what's happening here), I'd like to hear it. It being cancelled would make it inadvertently a tease, while if the author decides not to publish more, that's more similar to the Togashi phenomenon we have going here.
-
Sure, it's an open ending. Happens in fiction all the time.
"And so the great adventure concluded… but then the characters had many more after for the rest of their days."
The way Togashi presented it may not have been as an ending, but its a valid storytelling method when done intentionally.
-
He'll probably release one or two more volumes detailing Gins and Gons departure to the dark continent, maybe facing off against Pariston another time. Afterwards, the end.
-
What if the manga really isn't returning and Madhouse will be continuing/finishing the story with one or two arcs (written by Togashi) after CA?
The anime is confidently developing Gyro's story which has yet to come to fruition in the manga, and Togashi has been on hiatus for a long time

Gyro's backstory was definitely in the manga, they just moved it to a slightly earlier timeframe. There's not too much more they added to it otherwise.
-
I know it was in the manga but the scene showing his chair at his base was expounded on. Same with showing his men fight the ants
-
i'm hoping this to be the case as well. Otherwise there wouldn't be to much of a need to emphasise on gyro

Exactly. We get Gyro teases in CA, but he isn't really important in CA. Madhouse isn't just animating Gyro's flashback or his mentions in the manga, they're expounding on all of that including giving a better scope of his crime-ring he has in NGL

For some reason, when I read this, I get the image of Linus. When talking about the great pumpkin.
-
@RobbyBevard:
Sure, it's an open ending. Happens in fiction all the time.
And it wouldn't be the first series, especially an adventure in a shonen mag, that ended far before its promises of wealthy lore exploration and universe building, or just flat out unable to wrap up all the interesting plot threads it had started.
I'd say that's actually for par?
-

The Great Pumpkin shows up more often then Togashi.

So togashi has become something of a mythical figure? Do we even know if this person who had created this series is even real or human?

Once a year, the Great Togashi comes down from his magical third story apartment, smelling of pizza and unwashed socks. He then departs in his Lexus, bearing pages of scribble for all the good fanboys and fangirls, after which he returns to his yearlong slumber.
-
I feel this is appropriate somehow.
!

Haven't been here in a while, let's peruse the past few pages.
Sasuke is the poor man's Kurapika
+12 Awesomeness for actually making me laugh.
I have to admit that while the HxH anime is incredible, I haven't watched the last few episodes.
Why? I'm scurred =< I suck at watching horror and gore, even if it's freaking HxH. Ugh, sometimes I still remember the "human dogs" scene out of no where. shudderI gotta complete this, though. I'm trying to slowly convince myself to go watch it.
It's like I'm slowly inching towards a gigantic cockroach on the wall armed with bug spray and a tissue. I just shuddered again.

Lol I'm saving that one.
We should have a scribbled image of him that goes with this story.

Something you should know. I was just the same. When I first read the Chimera Ant Arc, I was disturbed to the point of stopping mid-way through for a few months' time. But you know what? The last straw that made me put the series down for a while was actually right where the arc receded back to normal Hunter x Hunter levels of objectionable material. If you just bear with it for a bit longer, it'll get better. This is just setting the groundwork for the meat of the arc.
-
Several episodes into the actual meat of the Yorknew City Arc now in the 2011 anime and oh my god
Melody is more precious than ever
Her voice is like I just wanna give her a hug and everything is okay and content

I don't watch tv anymore, so when I do watch shows or movies on my computer, and the ones I select are non-scary. Things that leave me in a sense of awe, contentment, or .. ponder-ance (SHUT UP, IT'S A WORD NOW). So subjecting myself to a genre I hate for half an hour will be an effort for me. But, for the love of Hxh i'll Homme up and DO IT. someday.

What do you guys think of the implications in the Kurapika side story chapters that the Phantom Troupe had more reasons for killing the Kurta than just obtaining their eyes? "We reject no one so take nothing from us." What do you think they meant? Could the Kurta not have been as innocent in the whole conflict as we thought? I don't approve of them basically committing genocide but the more we got to know about the Phantom Troupe the more we started to understand who they are. I came in the series expecting to hate them after finding out what they did to Kurapika's family in episode 1 but the more we got to know them the less evil they seemed to be.
The Chimera Ant chapters even showed they only kill for revenge most of the time and to give back to their city that is treated like it's non existent to the rest of the world. They even mention disgust in having to deal with some of the Chimera Ants with them even mentioning "I hate having to do the killing that leaves a bad aftertaste" It's almost like they show no sympathy for the rest of the world because the world didn't care about them so they don't think they should care about them.
I'm not trying to justify Genocide all I'm saying is the Kurta may have not been as much of a innocent random target as we originally thought and I can't wait until we find out what really went down.

Super easy lame answer, but I feel it's safe to say that the answers all lie in Meteor City. Everything always seems to come back to Meteor City, even Gyro supposedly.
I figure when the time comes, it'll tie into most loose threads and the few remaining arcs I figure we'll get for the series will piece more info to it until the time comes to hit it up. It feels like the stage for the climax of the series.
-
I wonder if Meteor City has ties to the Black Continent, hmmmm
Also, remind me Gyro's connection to Meteor City?
-
I thought this was a good episode. Fav scene was Knov, Morau, and the Pres hunting the ants. Really enjoying Knuckle and Shoot's voice actors
-
Yep, Knuckle is Aoki from Ippo, the voice fits perfectly imo. His theme song is awesome too.

The same guy who did Kuwabara too, right? I've been thinking of him as Kuwabaras long lost brother, they even have the same hair style.
-
Knuckle's voice in my head has always been Kuwabara's voice from the YYH English dub :)
It's that hair and the strict code of honor that gives me immediate reminders of Kuwabara
-
Kuwabara is one of those characters that I can only imagine with the english dub voice. URAMESHI!!
Now I every deliqunet character I see I can only imagine them having Kuwabara's voice
-
Hm? Kuwabara voicing Knuckle?
It was meant to be.
-
I don't think Kuwabara is voicing Knuckle
-
Ah, my mistake, I misunderstood kevo_koma.
But hey, the guy seems to have done Onizuka, so that's quite the something as well.

That makes sense. I don't know why but I get the feeling that the Dark Continent arc will lead directly into the finale and the final epic battles that conclude the whole thing. Something like Gon and Ging go to the Dark Continent and when they get back they find out that Gyro has taken over the world or something and the Phantom Troupe's subplot is mixed into somehow. I don't know why but I just get the feeling something like that will happen.
-
The way Togashi drew up the Dark Continent, it really seems more like the kind of place in which HxH Z would take place if Togashi wasn't, you know, Togashi.
-
I'm honestly kinda curious what people expect from HxH these days…..I mean, it seems like a single storyline arc alone now could possibly take 6 years just to get through.
-

A published chapter would be nice.

Some kind of word from the creator about why he publishes the way he does and whether he plans on publishing any more of H x H would be fantastic.

I check this topic for news once per 2 or 3 weeks.Still no news about the manga?

i think one time in 2-3 months would be oke to, arn`t there manga sites that send you mail if your manga comes out?

Once every year would be enough too. Only god knows why I check this thread more often. . .
But after seeing the anime I really like the Knuckle character even more.
-
When news arise, the name will change.
-
I am starting to belive that RobbyBevard was right being doomsday speaker and that HunterXHunter has already seen its last chapter.
I would be positively suprised to see continuation of HxH but as it is, I fear series has been all but offically concluded.
-
Maybe if we look at the previous hiatuses we can find some kind of mathematical formula for determining his break lengths?
-
Togashi's a great guy
