@Smudger:
so what if he can't breathe underwater. It had only been an issue on fishman island, and seeming as that is done with…I can't look at jinbes one unique advantage as having any true relevancy in the current or future plot. Unless of course you think we are going to have another arc similar to the fishman island setting just to prove his worth.
Well you know, similar underwater survivability would have been helpful at say, the Baratie, Arlong Park, Crocodile's Casino, Water 7, every time the crew gets stupid and goes for a swim, every time they go fishing and catch a giant monster… and command of salt water would have made Thriller Bark a joke.
Sanji even recovered kinemons body in the next arc, which for me just reiterates his swimming role amongst the crew, regardless of his human limitations.
He's the best they have, but he's still extremely limited, which has been shown over and over.
if this was the case then you would have at least listed the foreshadowing that counters what I said.malso when did that become my arguement. I'm merely stating that the foreshadowing is on a knifes edge that could sway either way.
I can't counter made up nonsense with proof that it's made up nonsense, because the hints don't exist in the first place.
And for me his unpredictability means that it won't fall slowly into one promising outcome, but suddenly just hit an obvious conclusion through one panel.
Aside from Zoro (who was super early in the fast pace of the series) and Brook (who still had Laboon set up and an entire arc despite his fast asking) when was the next crewmate ever not completely slow and deliberate?
On a side note: don't start swearing and using some rage tactic to put a point across. I want to debate this without capital letters and condescending dialogue.
It's not a debate. It's dumb and based on nothing. "Oda is unpredictable" is the same bullshit that newbs throw out to justify Perona, Hancock and Kuma joining, or that Sanji will get a permanent gender change. It's NOT an argument.
why don't you list them. Please just stop referring to some obscure evidence or foreshadowing and put it in black and white.
Known to object to the whitebeard war, set apart from other fishman, introduction was as an imprisoned man, bond with Ace, promise to Ace, known for being peaceful, known for being strong, foreshadowed super early in the series, etc. etc. Brennen, Urogue and myself made the Jinbe argument for three years straight, do you really need it repeated again?
You aren't NEW Smudge. You've been around. You've read the same points a thousand times, YOU shouldn't need them re-iterated.
we have a lot of ways of opening this up. My personal option would be through the infamy of his sword from ryuuma. Kinemon doesn't even need to die for this…just simply not physically be there to straighten out any assumptions they might have about his ownership. That arc really has to be zoros beast to deal with.
The point is, the Strawhats will mix it up with the locales, REGARDLESS of who is with them. Kinemon doesn't need to be missing for them to find trouble.
lol you are basically saying that it's one huge coincidence or bad luck that this happens. Oda does this intentionally. It's like his icebreaker in showing who is who in the various arcs, as well as build a rough idea of strengths and characteristics of important people.
No. I'm saying The point is, the Strawhats will mix it up with the locales, regardless of who is with them.
Even the current arc is full of massive (coincidental lol) conflicts. Luffy alone has already got about five people there that want him dead. Two of them we only just discovered out of the blue.
Regardless of who is with them!
They can have adventures in Wano WITH Kinemon in tow, his presence won't change a thing.
he doesnt need to die.
Then stop saying he needs to die!
