Strictly speaking, he would be cutting diamond. If he cuts through it then he will cutting Jozu, who is made of diamond. And Jozu is not a Logia, he's a Paramecia.

Just for everyone thinking that having Momo as a cabin boy is irresponsible.. Luffy is not exactly the most responsible person around. But there is still a lot more we need to see from them (Momo + Kinemon) and as much as I want them to join, so far it only seems like they are a temporary thing. But don't lose hope, there are still 2 islands (Zou and Wano, maybe Kano) of fun with them to see if they will show any​ sign of joining.

But the thing is that I believe if Luffy gets it he'll offer it to his crew, wich will refuse (Zoro/Sanji will say no because they don't need it, Nami/Usopp because that would put them in the position of having to face danger so they will choose to stay on the background). Honestly, I believe Luffy will give it to someone later on as a recognition of valour or (don't kill me please, i know) give it to Sabo.

Or probably he just knows jet walk/soru and taught Rebbeca.

So noone believes that Luffy might just keep the mera² like Shanks kept the gomu²?

Being the same as Shillew must be a reference to him bailing the marines.
But it just seems as means to his ends.. I don't see him going all the way for personal reasons nor do I see him being a undercover agent of the marines, so possibly the revolurionaries?
