And pertaining to the DF, seeing as it's man-made, I'd say it's either temporary, or he can never change back, both of which I would find interesting.

Smoker Vs. Vergo: I find it fantastic that we leave the chapter with Smoker beating the shit out of Vergo, and come back to him still beating the shit out of Vergo. Love it. You go Smo-yan.
Sanji, Tashigi, G5: Good to see Sanji is still able to do something with his broken/fractured leg, and hopefully he can get another fight.
Zoro Vs. Monet: Poor Robin, she never gets to do anything, and then when she finally gets the chanced she gets back stabbed by a spycicle (anyone get the reference?). But Zoro is gonna have a great fight, I can tell, and the first female logia is actually pretty interesting to see. This is gonna be a killer match.

Like many, I am assuming for the moment that the reason that Momo's fruit is a "failure" has to do with his seeming inability to turn back into a human form, though that may simply be his own inexperience as a new zoan-user.
I'm also thinking it could go both ways, either he really can't or that he just didn't know he could and hasn't figured out how. Makes sense since he apparently didn't know that he could fly and only did so while out of his mind in a hunger-induced hallucination.

Nice Halloween theme the cover page has going. Again Brook is afraid of ghosts when he should be the most comfortable with them but the most interesting things are Zoro's ankle scars are missing and the eye brows on Sanji's pumpkin aren't symmetrical. Along with that old Snail Phone from way back I'm just going to assume he has both his eye brows styled to face that direction.
Momonosuke in dragon form is cute, Luffy thinking the "eel" is talking out of it's butt is cuter. Naturally he hates pirates like his father and presumably the entire nation of Wano. It's interesting he would associate pirates with giants. The only connections with a giant and Wano that we have is Oars the 3rd, but even then he was only given a hat fashioned from Wano culture by Ace. We'll see if that has some meaning later on.
Pages of a silhouette must mean this kids appearance has some relevance in and of it's self. I should have known being a young Samurai would keep him from excepting food, the ending of 683 makes much more sense now. He's got a goal as well, could be as simple as finding his way home but of course there could be more. Now he eats a devil fruit that was supposedly a failed experiment. The swirling marks are obviously wrong and either he doesn't understand how to transform or he really can't transform into his former self.
Why a dragon though? Celestial Dragon's, real ancient dragons, scientifically created dragons that are pets and/or are favored by the Celestial Dragons? I wonder if Dragon's care considered something holy and god like? To the point that maybe some Celestial Dragon's want to actually be one? Maybe in ancient times a real dragon or dragon man started the whole hoof print brand by stepping on his enemies and branding them as slaves? We do know the big dragon had skin that was hot enough to burn skin, so it would certainly be possible. After Vegapunk discovered what DF's truly were he was tasked in making the descendants of Celestial Dragons to be closer to their original leaders. Yeah that's super way out there and fan fictiony, but it's peaked my interest none the less.
Now Luffy hears about Caesar from another victim and he does not like it. The emotional connection to the villain has been established, Caesar is going to get an even worse beating next time around. It's only a matter of time before Luffy associates Caesar with Doflamingo.
Monosuke is the next in line of endless people who see that all pirates aren't the same, even though he doesn't believe Luffy is a pirate. Despite seeing this type of development over and over I never ever get tired of it. With the hallucination one has to wonder if it's from the starvation or even a side effect of the "failed" devil fruit? What ever the case at some point Momonosuke has been exposed to Doflamingo. Could be a simple Snail video monitor he spied on or maybe the children were displayed to Doflamingo for slavery purposes. What ever the case it has him riled up enough to seemingly artificially fly by grabbing on to clouds or most likely his own smoke.
I love that Usopp is wondering if a group that has Zoro in it will be ok with out him. I love his attitude since the time skip, he flinches and still get's scared but not to the point that it completely disrupts his fighting style. What ever sea stone they find to restrain Caesar and possibly Monet I hope they keep it for future purposes.
Smoker has taken at least one hit from Vergo, but so far he has been depicted as the clear superior. Black Haki again, soon enough it will be explained, but every chapter we are given little pieces to put together.
Sanji's playing Smash Bros with G-5 keeping them out of harms way, but did he have to kick one in the face? Hahaha.
And now confirmation of a new Logia who has an animal body and a set of Yet Bro sized dual ice picks. Awesome. I'm certain at this point Law gave her that birds body, either that or she is constantly using the snow to fashion feathers and scaly feet, but being green and all I doubt it.
I love when the women in this comic take a good hit and bounce back, with Tashigi and now Robin being stabbed this is a good arc for that.
So Monet has caused a snow storm in the tiny little room and Zoro has taken charge to take care of her, can't wait!

I doubt Momo will join, mostly because he's too young. Unless both Kinemon and Momo join as a team, then it's at least a possibility though I'm guessing they will both be along for the ride only until they get back to Wano.

about the Doflamingo vision: Momo already stated he has something he has to accomplish. I don't think its far of a stretch to think that Dofla has somehow been fucking with Wano. Couldn't this just be Momonosuke's willpower taking over at the moment he's about to pass out? It seems more like Doflamingo is his motivation to continue rather than controlling him.
Also, does anybody else think that the Giantication and the Dragon fruit might go hand in hand? Maybe it wasn't intended to be a regular Devil's Fruit. Think about it: really big fucking human eats a faulty fruit that won't allow you to turn back = really big fucking dragon. Whether it was originally VP's idea to do that or CC took up the mantle its hard to say at this point. I somehow don't think that VP is totally evil like CC is.

Somehow after reading this chapter I feel that Doflamingo is even more overpowered than before. The dude has 2 Logias with wicked fruits at his disposal; one of them arguably being one of the biggest geniouses of this era and the other one a cunning and perceptive secretary. Not to mention the VA involved with the marine in a quite high rank. And we

If I were to bet, I think everyone is guessing dofla because of that illusion´s shades. But hey dofla isn`t the only one to use shades in OP you know and an illusion is in its own right to have some style. Seriously, I just think its a distorted somewhat scary face with either shades or a mask of sorts.

(The broken one) gets touched by shinokuni, poisoning him and leaving the amputation of his leg to be the only salvation to his life. The illusion of Doflamingo makes me curious. He is either close enough to influence people on the island, or there was something funky in that fruit. Not sure right now.
I was surprised that Monet was a logia, I swear she was gonna be a paramecia. I can see how she would be, though. Its different enough from Aokiji's fruit that it's unique. I think the Zoro vs. Monet fight will be interesting, but I really want Nami and Robin to get their fights. Hopefully we will see Buffalo and Baby 5 in the next chapter or two. If Monet is this strong as a member of Doflamingo's group, I'm looking forward to seeing more of them.
I really want to see more of the fight with Vergo. He has gone from fighting Sanji to Law to Smoker and still holding his own. I like seeing enemies who have no devil fruit and are just strong through power or technique. Those are the really scary people. Especially Vergo, who pretty much shakes off everytime he gets hit.

Zoro vs Monet is indeed really cool, now that i look back Oda did give a hint to that.
Dont know if it was posted earlier but i think Doflamingo could have a fruit that can control the mind, or at least have some kind of control over it, but my theory isnt flawless because it doesnt explain how he cut giant legs, but who knows Oda always surprises us.
Also i think Vergo is indeed made of some alloy because of the highlight in his head.
Its kind of a metallic one, and oda almost never uses highlights on black hairs, its part of his style to have solid blacks.

To be fair, using Monster Point pre-timeskip rendered Chopper immobile for a time too. Only now he can control himself while using it, as opposed to simply popping three Rumble Balls and crossing his fingers… Err, hooves.

:happy: good to hear. Anyway about Zeff and the bounty nicknames I´m guessing that once you get them, they stay put for whatever the reason. Look at zeff he had his woodleg stick but he was still called red leg. You´re right on the fact he was called that way because of all the blood of his enemies spilling on his Leg. But the nickname doesn´t have to reflect the present of the character; in fact it can mirror the past. Zoro is another good example, he`s still being called pirate hunter yet it has been two years since he stopped being a bounty hunter and joined Luffy. He became what he hunts but the ALIAS remains.

As for Smoker/Law/Vergo, Smoker probably just sucks at handling gimmicks and out-of-the-box attacks while excelling against brute force fighters. Most likely got too lax being a logia in East Blue.

I think cc said it in a hypothetical way. to me he meant that if he keeps experimenting on them with the drugs for five years they will die, but obviously that isn't happening, because they'll be saved.

So I read like the first 5 pages, and I'm sorry if I'm repeating any theories already proposed but some ideas I though of for the "failed" devil fruit are;
a) Momo doesn't have any half-human form
b) the effect is only temporary
or c) He goes from a dragon with his original mind to for, all intensive purposes a "normal dragon."
I don't have any supporting evidence, just throwing ideas I didn't see in the first few pages out there. -

It looks like there's so much stuff going on that Oda's having some trouble fitting much into each chapter. And I wonder what the dragon's relation to the samurai with the crew is. Don't they both have the same name?

very good chapter…the story was taken into the fights where it would likely end the arc now...interesting revelations.
POINTS:
1. liked luffy and momonosuke's interaction..that conversation is funny as hell and the emotional investment had been tackled, so its a really good thing.
2. momonosuke hallucinating and seeing doflamingo being nice to him was confusing...
3. loved the color spread...robin and nami got the coolest costumes and zoro as well.
4. ceasar is the sickest villain in the series....
5. smoker proving his VA level strength...though he wa pretty beat up as well...looks like a back and forth fight.
6. i wonder why ussop and brook was ordered by robin to get kairouseki chains...its pretty obvious but still you have to wonder why.
7. monet is just evil....the "dont interfere" panel nailed it.
8. zoro fighting finally. i like the matchup.
9. synthetic devil's fruit....wow.
10. 20 minutes left...things will get more interesting now, all of them will meet at R-66 along with baby 5 and buffy i presume.
11. this just reminds me of sanji not being seen for few chapters in CP9 saga....franky will do something to save the day.QUESTIONS AND PREDICTIONS:
1. to me, it seems that momo's goal connects to doflamingo's defeat and his reason for boarding the ship...his "there's something i need to get absolutely done" and him being scared shitless of doflamingo's apparition (but doflamingo being nice) seems like to have a connection. though its just a hallucination from hunger, you could assume that he encountered doflamingo already.
something like, doflamingo actually entered the wano kuni and became friendly with him and kinemon, then in the end doflamingo stabbed them in the back...reason why he boarded the ship to look for doflamingo to either get something back from him or defeat doflamingo...then of course kinemon followed him and the rest is history.
2. robin asking for kairouseki...because of kidnapping ceasar plan?
3. will zoro use the "hardening" stuff too as against monet?
4. some questions and ideas had been raised in my mind regarding the man-made fruits...ill throw some random ideas, correct me if wrong.
a) devil fruits have swirls and synthetic ones appears to have circles...maybe just one giveaway traits for it? then i assume the weird effects would be random...like zoan being unable to turn back to human, logias getting tangible etc.
b) which brings me to an idea, are the devil fruit of the lower order (example: fire fruit that is lower than magma fruit) actually synthetic devil fruit as well.
since i thought it was actually kinda weird that the place where aokiji fought and lose...with a mad scientist on it (and vegapunk's second in line) will produce a snow fruit that basically came from nowhere (monet not having wings before, maybe no ability before as well?????)
would it be plausible if im thinking that the lower versions of the fruits are synthetic ones? i mean, tried to be duplicated and failed and became just a notch lower than the original fruit? (magma, ice)

Could it be possible that the Devil fruit caused Momo to hallucinate, mabye it is considered a "failed fruit" because Ceasar created them to give to Marine soilders only for them to fall under Doflamingo's control or completely fear him.
It just seems unlikly that Momo would have ever meet Doflamingo prior to this arc.

the smoke only appeared when he panicked, as if he was the one who made them (ya know, dragon exhaling smoke), so it seems its still part of his "kit"again, sorry if someone mentioned this already

the smoke only appeared when he panicked, as if he was the one who made them (ya know, dragon exhaling smoke), so it seems its still part of his "kit"again, sorry if someone mentioned this already
Many of us have noticed that. I even expected him to fly in an unconventional way since last week, just didn't expect the clouds grabbing thing.

I thought this chapter was great. I read most of the post here, so I wont reiterate everything that people already said. However my question is, Did Momo get kidnapped (http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/685/8) or did he go onto the boat himself? http://mangastream.com/read/one_piece/82452500/9 . The latter would seem more likely being that the guard did say the all the kids were accounted for, but I just want to ascertain what the right translation is.

the samurais are great. momo is an instant favourite just like his dad. i prefer mangastream translation as momo's way of speaking is more fancy and samurai-like.

Good catch there, didn't realize that. My guess would be Usopp or Kinemon would bring down the wall with their respective fire attacks. Although that just begs the question, why would Nami ask Usopp to leave if he has fire attacks that would be useful against a snow woman?

No, Momo did not get kidnapped. He's a stowaway, got on that boat voluntary. He's on a quest.

For some reason I see Zoro about to land an attack on Monet then Sanji comes from nowhere and stop Zoro's attack, then Monet taking the opportunity to escape or Tashigi will fight her….
It's funny how Tashigi was no match against Robin 2 years ago in alabasta but after time skip Tashigi has haki and Robin doesn't ...
