Laws discussion with Sengoku felt like it amounted to nothing. It was also too brief and lacking enough prior context…so I felt no emotions from it even. Pointless and disapointing. So yeah, probably those two aspects. But I'm not 100% sure. Might need to reread.
One of the great things about One Piece, in my opinion, is that there are these moments that are seemingly pointless or irrelevant, which later turn into cool major plot points or at least a really cool moment. These are obviously extreme examples, but see laboon or the 3rd cup. So while I'd agree that it may seem disappointing now, I'm sure it's going to have major relevance down the line.
